Chris Shelby’s biggest concern about leaving East Coast was Ironheart Steer. As long as Ironheart Steer remained at large, there would be no peace in East Coast. However, with Bull’s 200, 000 East Coast Securities members and Michael’s 100, 000 martial disciples, they should be able to handle any trouble Ironheart Steer might cause.
As for Esther and others’ safety, Chris Shelby wasn’t too worried since they had Death Guards and Harold Jefferson for protection.
Chris Shelby then turned to Phoenix: “Phoenix, lead the Death Guards and Phoenix Corps with me to the border battlefield.”
“Yes!” Phoenix was visibly excited about heading to the battlefield; being a warrior at heart, he longed for combat.
After making all necessary arrangements, Chris Shelby returned to the villa around six or seven in the morning. He packed his things and prepared to leave when Esther and others came downstairs.
Esther looked at Chris Shelby curiously: “Dear, why are you up so early today?”
Chris Shelby smiled: “Dear, I need to tell you something-I’m heading north.”
Esther looked puzzled: “Why are you going north?”
Chris Shelby shook his head: “I can’t explain now. I can only tell you that Tiger is missing up north; I’m going there to find him.”
“What! Tiger is missing?” Esther exclaimed in shock.
She quickly asked: “Can I come with you?”
“No!” Chris Shelby said firmly. The northern border battlefield was too dangerous; he wouldn’t take Esther there.
Seeing his resolute attitude, Esther advised: “Promise me you’ll come back safely.”
Knowing she couldn’t change his mind once he decided on something, Esther chose to let him go rather than argue.
Chris Shelby nodded: “Don’t worry; I’ll come back safely.” Then Esther and others saw him off as he left the villa.
Watching him go, Juliette asked curiously: “Esther, it’s dangerous for Chris Shelby up north; why didn’t you stop him?”
Esther sighed: “Once Chris decides on something, there’s no changing his mind-what good would it do?”
Juliette fell silent; she knew her brother’s character well enough. She hoped Chris would return safely this time.
Meanwhile at East Coast military base-hundreds of green transport planes lined up on the runway as 100 thousand Death Guards and 100 thousand Phoenix Corps members stood fully armed.
“Boss everything is ready; we can depart immediately,” Phoenix reported to Chris Shelby with a salute.
