CHAPTER 71
ENTANGLED
He had tried his best to explain to isabella about how he truly felt about her but she wouldn’t listen and to make matters worse, Audrey had even asked that she moved back in with her.
Though Isabella could feel the sincerity in Vincent eyes as he told her about his feelings but she could not accept it because it was not the best for her because she would not be able to deal with Jessica’s drama.
But she had never imagined that Vincent would betray her this way and it made her wondered if he truly loved her or if he just said it to keep her calm.
Angered and pained, Vincent stormed out his apartment and headed for Jessica’s, he did not fail to hide his anger and could clearly see it all over his face as the steam emitted from it.
“What is wrong with you Jessica!” Vincent shouted as he stared hit at her like a lion about to devour his prey but Jessica was not scared of him, she already knew he would be pissed about her action.
But she didn’t care about it as long as she was going to get what she wants at the end, “please sit,” Jessica said politely as she offered him a seat.
“Why would go ahead to announce such a trivial matter to the public without informing me?” Vincent questioned, this time his tone vibrating as his fury grew higher.
He hated the fact that Jessica was so nonchalant about his emotions and would do anything just for her gain, “But I tried to call you and you refused to pick my calls!” Jessica replied.
Her expression a mockery of Vincent’s wrath, “I had told about my pregnancy but you chose to ignore me and my calls, so I had to do something to get your attention.” Jessica explained.
“Making a huge announcement as that was the only way you could think of to get my attention?” Vincent questioned his voice harsh and full of pain, he could not believe he had actually under estimated her all this while.
He was sure she must have planned all this from the onset and wondered what more she was capable of and how vicious she could be.
“Yes! what do you expect me to do when you have refused to pick up my calls and had warned me against stepping my foot in your apartment?” Jessica questioned her voice devoid of fear.
She didn’t care about what Vincent thought of her anymore, she was going to make him hers no matter what. “After all, i was right about it because here you are at my apartment finally.” Jessica asserted.
“I came because i am mad at what you have done and that does not mean that I’m taking you back into my life!” Vincent noted immediately, he had only came to her out of anger and not because he wanted anything to do with her or her pregnancy.
“You do not have a choice about that anymore because I am carrying your child!” Isabella noted, she wanted to make sure Vincent knew how serious she was about this and she was not going to let him win.
“What pregnancy?” Vincent asked angrily, “How am I sure that you are pregnant and that it belongs to me?” Vincent continued his voice filled with pain, if only he had not gone over to Jessica’s house that night al these would not have happened.
“I am pregnant Vincent, I have a proof and we both know the child is yours!” Jessica declared but Vincent was not moved by her words. “What proof when I cannot remember having sex with you?” he questioned as he waited for her reply.
“I am very sure I am not the father of this child!” he noted, ” Are you call me a prostitute?” Jessica asked abruptly as she felt a lump rise in her throat, even though she knew he was right about what he had just said.
She was still angry by it because she knew all these would not have happened if Isabella didn’t come into their lives.
“I am not calling you a prostitute but we both know that you are a cheat and a liar, Andi am very sure this is all your plan to come in between Isabella and I.” Vincent confirmed.
“How dare speak to me in such manners, I would advise you refrain yourself from getting on my nerves else I would release our sex tape for the whole world to see that I am saying the truth!” Jessica threatened immediately.
“Sex tape!” Vincent exclaimed as he tried to hide his worries, he had always feared what Jessica must have recorded that night and did not want Isabella seeing it.
“What do you even want from me!” Vincent questioned his voice full of frustration, he had only looked at her as a colleague and family friend but it seemed he was blinded by her friendly looks.
“I want my child to have a home with his father!” Jessica asserted, this was what she had hoped for all along to build a family with Vincent.
“A home!” Vincent said as scoffed at Jessica’s words he knew this was her ultimate plan, to use the pregnancy to get my no his life but he was prepared for her, there was no way he was going to get married to ant one except me from Isabella.
“Yes, except you want me to give the sex to the media and you know what that would cause you and your career!” Jessica’s threatened, “Fine!” Vincent finally replied while Jessica gave a wide grin, she was happy her plan had worked.
“I am going to play my fatherly role to the child until birth and immediately the child is born we would go for a DNA test and if the child is confirmed to be mine, I would give the child parent support but never will i accept you into my life!” Vincent confirmed.
“What!” Jessica exclaimed as his words hit her hard, she had not expected Vincent to take such a a harsh decision and was short of words.
“B- but,” Jessica stammered as she tried to defend herself but she knew he had the right to do this, “It’s final!” Vincent said as he turned to walk away.
“You can’t do that to me, I am going to make sure you regret this!” Jessica shouyed as she watched Vincent walk away, he didn’t care about what she had to say anymore.
Broken by Vincent’s decree she burst out in tears, “All i did was to love you,” Jessica muttered in tears but Vincent was already long gone.
He had dropped by a bar as he was too down to go home and was already too drunk that he could not hear his phone buzz loudly as his mother and Hall repeatedly called him.
