Ranita ran as fast as she could, the wind and Ayaan’s cries filling her ears, tearing at her heart.
“Ranita…” Brendon called from behind.
After a while, Ranita finally saw Addyson. Addyson had tied Ayaan with a rope, and Ayaan’s face was covered in blood!
Ranita’s heart shattered into pieces.
She screamed in fury, “Addyson, let go of my son!”
Addyson’s face changed when she saw her but didn’t run. Instead, she sneered, “Ranita, if you take one more step, I’ll blind him!”
She pulled out a small knife and pressed it against Ayaan’s eye, showing no concern for scaring the child. “Such a cute boy, it would be a pity if he became disabled!”
“He would hate you for life!”
Brendon’s face darkened, his eyes cold as he looked at Addyson. “Addyson, let him go.”
Seeing Brendon, Addyson felt a chill in her heart.
She had been at Boulderland Mansion for many years, and everyone feared Brendon.
It was a habit formed over the years!
Addyson forced herself to stay calm and held Ayaan tightly. “Mr. Stuart, I can let the child go, but you have to let me leave.”
“Let you leave? Where do you think you can run to?” Brendon paused and raised his chin slightly. “Maybe you’ll be more comfortable in prison.”
“What do you think?”
His voice was soft but filled with extreme danger.
Addyson’s teeth chattered, and her hand holding the knife trembled uncontrollably. She had no way out now!
On this cargo ship, Brendon and the police were in front of her, and behind her was the vast ocean. She had no escape.
“Let him go, Addyson. Don’t make me do it myself!”
Addyson gritted her teeth, her breathing quickened. She held Ayaan tightly and stepped back slowly. “Don’t come closer, or I’ll kill him!”
“Addyson, if you kill my son, have you thought about the consequences for you and your family?”
Addyson knew she would die without a burial place.
But she was unwilling to give up!
Ranita had destroyed everything she had!
“Don’t come closer! Ranita… you want your son? You can… ah…” Addyson stepped back to the edge, holding Ayaan high above the water below, which was twenty meters deep.
“Go find him yourself!”
Hearing this, Ranita rushed forward in terror, screaming, “No! No…”
In her screams, Addyson fell backward, dragging Ayaan into the water.
“Ayaan!”
Without thinking, Ranita jumped in after them. The water splashed loudly as she immediately searched for Ayaan.
Ranita could swim, but she hadn’t rested or eaten since yesterday. Jumping from such a height made her feel dizzy.
“Mommy…” A weak voice called out. Ranita looked over and saw Ayaan. She cried out in pain, “Ayaan! Addyson, don’t do this! He’s just a child. Please let him go!”
“If you have any issues, come at me!” Ranita swam over to grab Ayaan, but Addyson wouldn’t let go and held on tightly.
“Ranita, if we die, we’ll die together! I’ll be happy to have you as my company!”
“We’ll meet in hell!”
Addyson’s face twisted as she raised the knife and stabbed at Ranita…
