Chapter 959: Bribery

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-10-8

“Ah?” Gideon asked with wide eyes, “How rich?”
“Extremely rich… as rich as a country,” the captain sighed. “This woman is really something, daring to do such a thing. If she gets caught, it’s all over for her!”
Gideon asked again, “Is there a reward? Is there money for providing information?”
“How do you know? Have you seen that woman?” the captain asked excitedly. Gideon immediately shook his head, “No, no… I was just asking! Aren’t we getting off the ship soon? I’ll look around, just in case I see her!”
The captain rolled his eyes in annoyance. Daydreaming!
“Stop talking about it and get your things ready to disembark!” As soon as the captain left, Gideon rushed back to the lower deck, only to find that Addyson and the child were gone!
“Damn woman!” Gideon kicked the door in anger and stormed out to look for them.
Addyson wasn’t familiar with the ship; what if someone saw her?
Being seen wasn’t the main issue; if she escaped, how would he get his chance to make some money?
Gideon searched everywhere, but the cargo ship was so large that he couldn’t find Addyson.
At that moment, Addyson was hiding in a small, filthy bathroom. It was tiny and smelled disgusting.
Addyson was extremely nervous, her mind racing as she thought about how to escape…
But the only way out seemed to be jumping into the sea!
“Damn Ranita!” Hatred for Ranita surged in Addyson’s eyes. She looked at the sleeping Ayaan and reached out to strangle him. “Blame your mother. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be in this situation.”
Since being kicked out of Boulderland Mansion, she couldn’t find a satisfying job.
She had lived a life at Boulderland Mansion that ordinary people couldn’t imagine. The sudden fall from grace was unbearable for Addyson.
She found several jobs but was fired after only a few days.
In the end, she had to resort to delivering food. The last time she delivered coffee, she deliberately spilled hot coffee on Ranita!
Ayaan couldn’t breathe and woke up groggily, letting out a soft cry.
“Bang!” Suddenly, the bathroom door was kicked open. Gideon roughly pulled her out and slapped her hard across the face.
“You bitch! You dared to lie to me!” Gideon grabbed Ayaan. “Do you know there are police everywhere outside looking for you?”
Addyson saw stars from the blow.
There were many police outside, but with Gideon’s help… Addyson gritted her teeth and said to Gideon, “Do you want to make money? A lot of money?”
Gideon sneered, “I heard this kid’s family is very rich! If I turn you and the kid in, I’ll definitely get a reward.”
“Haha! Did you forget you brought us on board? You’re an accomplice. Do you think they’ll let you go?”
Addyson smirked and stood up despite the pain. “Gideon, let’s work together! If you help me get this boy out of the country, I’ll give you a large sum of money!”
Gideon hesitated. Addyson made sense; otherwise, he wouldn’t have kept quiet until now.
After all, he had helped them get on the ship. If he were considered an accomplice, he’d be finished!
“How much money?” Gideon was tempted, his eyes full of greed. If the amount was enough, he might consider it.
Addyson took out an international card from her pocket. “There’s a million dollars on this card. If you help me leave, someone will give you more money after it’s done.”
