Kieran paid the operator to let the ride go in a loop three times, and Arabella wondered why he did that.
“Why?” she whispered to him.
“To have some alone time,” he replied with the same wink from earlier. She gulped down hard, wondering what he was thinking.
As the ride got into the tunnel, Arabella held the hand of Kieran tightly with her eyes closed. She had no time to think of what he might have meant with the wink and statements because the ride was definitely scarier than she had expected it to be. She looked at him when she felt his firm hand hold her face and turn it to him.
“Are you scared?” he asked, dropping a kiss on her lip.
“Kieran,” she said in a hushed whisper as she looked around.
“There is no one here, and I have been waiting all day just to get that,” he said before dropping his head for another kiss. She placed her hand over her mouth because he could kiss her and therefore kissed the back of her hand. He took her hand from her mouth and began to drop multiple kisses on them in quick succession.
“It is illegal to do this here,” she said, looking around again. She wondered if there were security cameras in there and if security personnel were watching him kiss her like this.
“There is nobody here.”
“But someone could be watching.”
“Are you ashamed to kiss me? Is that what this is about?” he asked. Arabella wondered if being a tease and a blackmailer had always been his strength or if it was this relationship that seemed to bring it out of him because he seemed to be doing it a lot and he seemed to be doing it well.
“Of course not; it’s just that there might be CCTV here and we might be giving the guards a show,” she said, looking around again.
“It is just a kiss,” he said, dropping another on her lip, causing her eyes to grow wide in shock. “Why are you being paranoid?” he asked.
“I am not being paranoid; I am just careful,” she said, and he shook his head.
“Don’t tell me you were expecting something else,” he teased.
“What do you mean?” she asked flustered. They had barely been together since they started dating. At first, they had the incident with Aurora, and then they had her mom around so they could barely be together.
“If you want that, you can know you can just ask.”
“What are you saying?” She asked flustered as she tried to cover up his mouth with her hand. He laughed into her palm as he kissed her and then licked her hand. “Kieran!” she was now confused as to why he was acting so childish.
“I am dead serious; if you want it, you can just ask.”
“But your mom is at home and your dad too,” she murmured to herself as she raised her head and shook her hand in the air with so much force. “I did not mean that, no no no,” she said continuously as a mischievous smile climbed his face.
He held her face with his hand and pulled her in; he began to kiss her, and unconsciously she began to kiss back with her hand travelling up his shoulders and a smile on her face. He pulled away from her and stared at her with his eyes darkening.
“I love you,” he said before planting kisses on the side of her mouth.
“I love you too,” she said as she tried to act like his tiny kisses did not affect her.
“Should we go somewhere else?”
“Somewhere, like where?” she asked shyly, dropping her head so their eyes would not meet.
“You would see,” he said, lifting her head gently. “But we have to make sure that the ride ends first,” he said, looking around. He had thought that they were going to have a moment there, but seeing how things turned out, he could not wait to be out of there.
Finally, the ride was over, and he drove out of the amusement park to a hotel. “You brought me to a hotel?” she asked in shock as they drove into the underground parking lot. “Why?” she asked now that her tone was in a hushed whisper.
“I told you we should come somewhere, and you agreed,” he said as he drove by the cars looking for a place to park.
“That was because I thought you said that we should go someplace nice,” she muttered, looking around like they were sneaking around.
“Why are you looking around like we are committing a sin?” he asked, noticing how uncomfortable she got.
“It is not that…”
“Am I being clueless? Am I jumping to conclusions here? Is this what we both want?” he asked. His voice was as if he were thrown into a frenzy. He was not sure if he was doing the right thing, and judging by the way she looked around, maybe he was getting ahead of himself.
“It is not to that…” she trailed off again. She did not want to tell him that she wanted to jump his bones so badly that she was embarrassed by it.
“Let us get out of here,” he said. He had just found a place to park, but his hand was on the key immediately, ready to get out of there. The last thing he wanted to do was to make her uncomfortable. He wanted it, but if she was up for it, then it was not happening. “I will wait till you are ready. So just give me a signal, okay?” he said, taking the gear off the park.
“Wait,” she said before he could engage the wheels. He reverted to the park and looked at her. “I want to answer now,” she said, clearing her throat while looking around.
“An answer?” Kieran asked, looking around confused. What answer? He had not asked a question; how could she have answers?
She leaned in and stared at him; his strong eyes stared at her back, and she could both hear and feel the unspoken words that longed in them. It was like he was trying to say a lot of things but only getting such a narrow passage for them. She pulled his face with both her hands and kissed him lightly on the lips.
Kieran smiled as he bit his bottom lip and pulled her closer so he could kiss her. He felt her kissing back, and he smirked. He pulled apart for some time and stared at her. “Should we go in?” she asked.
He nodded because she had taken the question right out of his mouth.
“Let us,” the words were barely out of his mouth when she crashed hers against his again. She pulled away before murmuring. “I love you,” the atmosphere, the way her breath lazily touched his face, and her gaze on him made the moment all the more special.
“I love you.”
