At the foot of the mountain, Billy had already suspected this!
He just didn’t know why The Scholar had brought everyone here.
“Exactly!” The Scholar smiled faintly.
“Senior, what’s inside?” Stout asked eagerly.
“Follow me!” The Scholar said, leading the group forward.
Soon, they arrived at a massive rock cliff. If one looked closely, they could see some talismans carved into the cliff.
The Scholar muttered some words, formed a seal with his hands, and sent a mysterious mark towards the cliff.
As the mark merged into the cliff, a ripple appeared on the stone surface.
The Scholar didn’t stop and quickly sent a second mark.
Billy could vaguely sense some formation lines fluctuating around them, but they were not very clear and hard to capture.
It was evident that the person who set up the formation was more skilled than him!
As soon as The Scholar sent the second mark into the stone wall, an invisible aura rushed towards Billy and the others.
In the next moment, the scene before them changed dramatically.
The massive rock cliff disappeared, replaced by a stone staircase with about four or five hundred steps.
Following the stone steps upward, they saw a grand palace at the top. Although it was old and in disrepair, its former grandeur was still evident.
“Wow! This is amazing!” Stout exclaimed as he looked at the scene before him.
Not only him, but Billy and the others also showed expressions of surprise; it was indeed unexpected.
“Senior, is that palace up there also part of the Blade and Sword Sect’s territory?” Judge asked.
“Of course!” The Scholar nodded. “It is also the most central place of our Blade and Sword Sect!”
“The Treasure Pavilion?” Stout’s eyes lit up.
Everyone: “…”
Having this chubby guy around was really embarrassing!
Even if he thought so, did he have to say it out loud? Too embarrassing!
“You might be disappointed. It’s not a Treasure Pavilion up there; there are no spirit stones or other cultivation resources,” The Scholar smiled.
“No cultivation resources at all?” Stout’s face fell. “Then what’s up there?”
“This place is called the Martial Arts Pavilion. It was used by the Blade and Sword Sect to store martial arts techniques,” The Scholar replied.
“After the turmoil a thousand years ago, the Blade and Sword Sect was almost destroyed. They managed to preserve this place with their last effort.”
“Really?” Hearing this, Stout became interested again. “Let’s hurry up and take a look?”
“Stout, can you not speak?” Felicia rolled her eyes at him.
“Hehe, let’s go up!” The Scholar smiled again and led everyone up the stone steps.
Soon, as everyone stepped onto the stone steps, the scene returned to its original state. Anyone unaware would never guess that there was something hidden here.
Just as they started climbing the stone steps, a terrifying pressure emanated from the palace above, making Billy and the others shiver involuntarily.
At the same time, a shadow flashed down rapidly, arriving in front of them in an instant.
Without any pause, the shadow flicked its wrist, sending a sword strike towards them with unstoppable force, causing ripples in the air.
Although Billy and the others couldn’t gauge their opponent’s cultivation level, they could tell from the pressure that it was formidable.
The newcomer’s strength was likely even above The Scholar’s, definitely at the Holy Ancestry Realm!
“Annalise, stop!” The Scholar shouted while sending out a mark with his hand.
Both attacks exploded simultaneously, sending strong shockwaves in all directions. The Scholar and his opponent each retreated several dozen meters.
Billy and the others were also affected, all being thrown down the stone steps. Fortunately, no one was injured.
This was because their opponent hadn’t used full strength; otherwise, they wouldn’t have escaped unscathed.
After stabilizing themselves, Billy and the others looked up to see an elderly woman in a green robe with white hair and youthful features holding an ancient sword.
“Why have you returned?”
Annalise didn’t attack again but landed on the stone steps and looked at The Scholar coldly.
Her expression clearly showed she didn’t welcome The Scholar.
“Annalise, after all these years, you still haven’t let go?” The Scholar replied calmly.
“Answer my question. Why have you returned?” Annalise continued coldly.
“I brought some young friends to visit the Martial Arts Pavilion,” The Scholar said.
“You are not welcome here. Leave now!” Annalise glanced at Billy and the others.
“Annalise…” The Scholar began again.
“I’ll say it one more time: you are not welcome here. Don’t force me to act!” Annalise interrupted him.
“I have a question for you!” The Scholar continued. “Do you want to avenge our sect?”
“You?” Annalise sneered. “Come back when you can defeat me!”
“I can’t do it alone!” The Scholar pointed to Billy and the others. “But they can!”
This might be one of the reasons he brought Billy and his group here!
“You think I’m an idiot?” Annalise scoffed.
She had already assessed Billy and his group’s cultivation levels; the highest was just a fifth-rank Breaking Emptiness Realm girl!
Not to be arrogant, but she could easily take their lives with just a flick of her finger.
“They can’t do it now, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be able to in the future!” The Scholar replied. “Give me three months, and I’ll give you a surprise!”
“I don’t have time for your nonsense. You have one minute to leave with them, or don’t blame me for being rude!” Annalise responded coldly.
She didn’t believe The Scholar’s words!
Not three months! Even thirty years wouldn’t be enough for these kids to avenge Blade and Sword Sect!
“Don’t believe me?” The Scholar continued. “You only checked their martial arts cultivation. Why not look at their physiques?”
“What’s there to see…” Annalise said as she released her spiritual power to envelop Billy and his group again.
“Hmm?” Her pupils contracted slightly, showing a hint of surprise on her face.
“How about now?” The Scholar smiled faintly.
He had already checked Billy and his group’s physiques back in Crimson Cloud City and knew what to expect!
“Who are they?” Annalise asked.
The Scholar opened his mouth but didn’t know how to answer because he didn’t know who Billy and his group were either.
After a pause, he turned to Billy. “Mr. Billy, why don’t you introduce yourself?”
“…” Billy’s mouth twitched slightly before he bowed towards Annalise.
“Junior Billy greets Senior Annalise. We come from a lower star domain…”
“Hmm?” Annalise interrupted him. “You are Billy?”
