“Opal, why are these four old guys helping us awaken our bloodline?” Amber asked after a brief pause.
After being captured and brought to Frost Palace yesterday, they were immediately sent here and forced to awaken their bloodlines by these four elders. It had been non-stop since yesterday.
“I don’t know!” Opal shook her head. “From what I heard the vice master say, they captured us because of our unique physique and bloodline. Helping us awaken our bloodline might be to better exploit our potential, making us more valuable.”
“Very likely!” Amber nodded. “I wonder how far Billy Boy and the others have gotten. If they don’t come soon, they might not see us again!”
“They captured us partly for our physique and bloodline, and also for the Nine Dragons Cauldron that Billy Boy has!” Opal responded. “They probably won’t kill us before Billy Boy arrives.”
“True!” Amber nodded again.
At this moment, two footsteps echoed as the previous elder led a white-robed man over. The white-robed man had a pale face and a weak aura, clearly injured.
“Greetings, old sect master!” The three black-robed elders descended from the ice pillars and bowed to the white-robed man.
“Old sect master, we have completed the first bloodline awakening for them!” one of the black-robed elders said. “Their physiques have significantly improved, which should greatly aid your injuries!”
“Thank you!” The white-robed man nodded slightly. He then sat cross-legged on the ice block previously occupied by the black-robed elder.
“What are you planning to do?” Amber shouted.
“Thank you, young ladies!” the white-robed man responded. “Don’t worry, the process is just a bit uncomfortable. Bear with it, and it will pass!”
“You old fool, you’d better let us go, or when Billy Boy arrives, you’ll regret it!” Amber continued.
“Let’s begin!” The white-robed man ignored Amber’s words.
The next moment, a strong aura burst from him, enveloping Opal and Amber.
“You dare!” Amber’s face changed as she shouted again.
But the white-robed man ignored her and began to channel his technique to extract their essence.
“Hmm?!” A look of extreme shock flashed across the white-robed man’s face. “How is this possible?!”
He was shocked because he found that not only could he not extract their essence, but his own essence was being drawn into their bodies. Even more shocking was that he couldn’t stop it.
“Damn it!” the white-robed man shouted. “Kill them quickly!”
“Old sect master, what’s wrong?” one of the black-robed elders asked in confusion.
“Stop talking and kill them now!” the white-robed man roared.
“Understood!” The black-robed elder responded and prepared to act.
At that moment, a blade light flashed from the cave entrance. Before the black-robed elder could turn to see who it was, his body was sliced in half, falling to the ground in a bloody mess.
“Hmm?!”
The other three black-robed elders were stunned.
Before they could fully react, Billy and Harleen attacked simultaneously. After a flurry of blades and swords, three heads flew into the air, blood spraying everywhere.
“Billy Boy, Harleen?!” Opal and Amber shouted in unison.
“Bastards, who are you?” the white-robed man roared.
“Die!” Billy responded coldly, raising his blade to strike.
“Billy Boy, don’t kill him!” Opal shouted. “He’s trying to extract our essence but is now being reversed. He won’t live long!”
“Oh?” Billy and Harleen paused.
Harleen had experienced something similar before when she and Ivy were captured by the Savage Demon Tribe. An old man and woman tried to take over their bodies but ended up being absorbed by Harleen and Ivy, boosting their levels by two ranks.
“Let me go!” the white-robed man shouted.
In just a few moments, his body shrank visibly. Within minutes, he was reduced to skin and bones.
“Heaven is against me!”
After another moment, the white-robed man collapsed onto the ice, kicking his legs before becoming motionless. Another pitiful soul who worked for others’ benefit!
Opal and Amber’s auras were chaotic, their bodies trembling uncontrollably. Clearly, like Purple Spirit, they had absorbed too much essence to refine it quickly.
Understandably so; as the former sect master of Frost Palace, even injured, he was still a late-stage Breaking Emptiness Realm powerhouse. With Opal’s current cultivation level, refining his essence would take time.
“Opal, Amber, hold on. We’ll help you!” Billy said as he and Harleen quickly approached.
After about half an hour, Opal and Amber’s conditions stabilized. As Billy had estimated, after refining the white-robed man’s essence, Opal’s cultivation level rose to fourth-rank Perfection Emptiness Realm. Amber remained at half-step Perfection Emptiness Realm because she hadn’t undergone Thunder Tribulation.
After some more meditation, Billy led them back to Frost Palace’s main courtyard.
“Mr. Billy!” Mitchell Monroe and Samuel approached as they arrived.
“Grand Elder, is everything settled here?” Billy asked.
“The people of Frost Palace have scattered like birds and beasts. All those above Entering Dao Realm have had their cultivation crippled,” Mitchell Monroe nodded.
“Good!” Billy nodded back. “Mr. Billy, these storage rings contain items from Frost Palace’s treasury. Please take them,” Mitchell Monroe said, handing over two storage rings.
“Thank you for your kindness, Grand Elder,” Billy smiled. “But we already took so many resources from Netherworld Clan’s treasury ten days ago. We can’t accept these storage rings.”
“This time, Heavenly Scent Pavilion and Alchemists’ Alliance were implicated because of us. These cultivation resources rightfully belong to you. Please accept them,” Billy insisted firmly until Mitchell Monroe and Samuel finally agreed.
The group of six then headed to City Lord’s Mansion at the foot of the mountain. Billy didn’t rush back to City of the Unclaimed; although Frost Palace had withdrawn from the stage, Ice City still existed. Without proper management, the city would fall into chaos, affecting ordinary citizens-something Billy didn’t want to see.
For the next two or three days, they stayed in City Lord’s Mansion without making any moves, observing the situation. As Billy had predicted, various sects and families began to emerge on the second day, plunging the city into chaos.
