August hugged his beloved wife and replied, “I don’t understand why Aiden is calling me instead of his mother. Didn’t he disown me?” Then he took the phone from his wife’s hand and switched it off. He hugged his lovely wife and fell asleep.
Aiden tried several times to call his father, but it went straight to voicemail. He left the hospital and went home to sleep. He woke up at 7 am and took a quick shower. Then he went to the company to speak to his father.
He entered his father’s office without knocking and said, “Good morning, Dad. Lily pushed my mother, and she hurt her spinal cord badly. The attending doctor said…..”
His father was fuming with anger and roared, “Get out of my office.” Aiden was taken aback and said, “But Dad…” His father interrupted him and replied, “I am not your father. Get out.”
Aiden had never seen his father so angry. He walked out of his father’s office, but he didn’t leave. He stood outside his father’s office and waited for his father to calm down.
Half an hour later, Siyabonga knocked on CEO Martins’ door. CEO Martins said, “Come in.” Siyabonga entered the office with Aiden in tow.
Siyabonga smiled and greeted his boss, then he placed a pile of documents that needed his boss’s signature. He then discussed today’s schedule with him and left.
Aiden approached his father and said, “Dad, I am sorry for being rude to your wife. It will not happen again.”
His father looked at him with icy cold eyes and said, “If you ever treat my wife like you did yesterday, I will disown you. My wife is my bottom line.”
A surge of anger rose in Aiden’s heart, but he calmed himself down for his mother’s sake. He looked at his father and said, “Dad, I need your help. My mother is fighting for her life in the hospital.”
His father looked at him and asked, “And this is my problem because? Why don’t you transfer your mother to another hospital?”
Aiden was taken aback when he heard his father’s words and said, “It is Avery’s responsibility to help our mother. I was told that she is a specialist in this area. Please ask her, Dad.”
His father shook his head and replied, “The answer is No. Your mother has never acknowledged Avery as her daughter.
Is your mother’s life more important than my grandson’s life? If so, why don’t you ask your brother-in-law to allow his wife to operate on your mother while she is thirty-nine weeks pregnant?”
What? Was his father joking? Aiden was intimidated by his brother-in-law and replied, “Dad, I am not familiar with my brother-in-law. Please help my mother?”
His father looked at him and replied, “I will think about it. Get out of my office.” Aiden reluctantly left his father’s office and went to the hospital to check on his mother.
Mr Martins took his phone and dialed his wife, Caia. He smiled broadly and asked, “Hello, Darling. How are you and our son?” Caia was pacing up and down with Alexis and replied, “He is fusing, and he has a running stomach.”
Her husband’s heart ached and replied, “I will be home during lunch to help you with Alexis. I will ask His Mercy restaurant to deliver food home.
Aiden apologized to you, my love, for his rudeness. His cousin, Lily, pushed Elizabeth from the first floor to the first floor and she hurt her spinal cord. He wants me to ask Avery to perform surgery on her.

He sat on the sofa beside his wife, then he held his wife’s hands and said, “Sweetheart, I just received a call from Dad.

Avery looked at her husband and said, “I would be lying if I said I felt sorry for Aunt Elizabeth. She is reaping what she sows. However, I will help her to repay her for giving birth to me, even though she tried to take my life several times.

Avery looked at her husband and said, “Honey, Aunt Elizabeth is badly injured. Do you mind if I helped with the surgery? I will be sitting in the gallery giving guidance to other doctors who will be performing the surgery.”
Her husband looked at her with concern in his eyes and asked, “Is it a short operation? If not, won’t you be exhausted sitting down, my love?”
Avery touched her husband’s worried face and replied, “Why don’t you go with me and keep me company, Honey? The elders won’t object if we go together.”
Since she got pregnant, her mother-in-law forbade her from doing anything. She was even forbidden to enter the kitchen.
