Dr Chase Forbes decided to keep Sage in the hospital for four months. Xavier hired a caregiver to take care of his daughter.
The Taylor family wanted Sage’s maternal grandfather to be arrested as well. However, Sage indicated to them that her maternal grandfather had showered her with nothing but love.
Mr Taylor senior was fuming with anger. He called the Minister of Police and told him about his great-granddaughter who nearly died at the hands of the Moore family. He indicated that he wanted a maximum sentence for the perpetrators.
During Mrs Moore and Valeria Moore’s trial, the Taylor family lawyer played Sage’s testimony. She explained how Aunt Valeria had used her as a punching bag.
When the detective asked her why she didn’t seek help from her paternal family? Sage indicated that her maternal grandmother threatened to destroy her late mother’s grave should she tell on them.
Furthermore, she indicated that she had been beaten and starved. Her grandmother once told her that she didn’t care whether she died or lived because their late eldest daughter had betrayed them.
Then the lawyer showed the court the photos of Sage covered with blood. The whole courtroom erupted into murmurs. They were shocked by the cruelty of the human heart.
Judge Harris banged her gavel and then the courtroom quieted down. The lawyer then showed the court the photos of Sage before she went to the Moore family and her current photo.
Sage’s previous photos showed that she was chubby and full of life. However, in her current photo, she was so thin. It was clear that she was deprived of food.
Judge Harris sentenced the mother-daughter duo to thirty years in prison. The Taylor family welcomed the judgement. Immediately after the sentencing, Mr Moore divorced his wife.
After Sage was discharged from the hospital, she didn’t go back to the Moore residence. She asked for forgiveness from Aunt Avery and her grandmother for lying. She promised to never lie again. Aunt Avery forgave her and embraced her.
A month later, Keith called his father and said, “Dad, Bridgette has contractions and her lower back is hurting. I am taking her to the hospital.” His father was overjoyed and told his daughter-in-law the good news.
Caroline was over the moon. She quickly called her husband and told him the good news. Her husband dropped everything and rushed home to fetch his wife and his father.
Mr Taylor senior called his in-laws, the Evans family, and told them the good news. When Mrs Evan heard the news she was happy and nervous at the same time. She asked her bodyguard, Prince, to take her to the hospital.
When the Taylor family arrived at the hospital, the Evans and Martins families were already in the waiting room.
At the Restoration Group, Xavier was in the meeting. The senior managers were giving feedback regarding their departments. When the managers heard the phone ringing, they looked at each other.
At the Restoration Group, the managers were allowed to take calls from their families during meetings. However, they had to keep their phones on silent.
Xavier stopped the meeting and said, “Hello, Sweetheart. Is everything alright?” Avery smiled and replied, “Honey, Aunt Bridge is in labour.”
Xavier smiled brightly and said, “Thank you for letting me know, my stunning wife. I am on my way.” Then they hung up.
He turned to his managers smiling and said, “The meeting is adjourned.” Xavier left the conference room with his Executive Secretary, Cole Knight, in tow.
Xavier told Cole that his mother-in-law was giving birth. Then he went to the underground parking and drove to the hospital.
In the delivery room, Dr Fowler was monitoring Bridgette’s progress. It was difficult labour. Bridgette had been in labour for four hours.
Three hours ago, Dr Fowler had told her that the cervix had fully dilated. However, baby Taylor was so comfortable in her mother’s womb. He refused to move down the birth canal.
Bridgette was in so much pain. Her husband was holding her hand, comforting her. She couldn’t take it anymore. She begged Dr Fowler to perform a C-section.
Dr Fowler promised her that she would perform a C-Section should the baby fail to move after two hours.
In the waiting room, Keith and Bridgette’s families were so nervous. They had been waiting for four hours, but there was no news. Mr Martins decided to call Pastor Basil and asked for a prayer.
An hour later, miraculously, the baby started moving down the birth canal. Dr Fowler smiled and said, “Bridgette, push hard.”
Bridgette pushed with all her strength. When she heard her baby crying, she cried and laughed at the same time.
Keith kissed his wife on her lips and said, “I am proud of you, Mrs Taylor. You were so brave.” Bridgette smiled with tears in her eyes and replied, “Thank you for your support, my love.”
Dr Fowler placed the baby on Bridgette’s chest and said, “Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Taylor. It’s a boy.” Then she took the baby from Bridgette and cut the baby’s umbilical cord.
The head nurse quickly performed the baby’s health assessment. Then she cleaned the baby and wrapped him in a warm blanket.
An hour later, Keith walked out of the delivery room to his family carrying his bundle of joy. He handed the baby to his father and said, “Dad, please meet your grandson. Your daughter-in-law had a difficult labour, but she was very brave.”
His father was beaming with joy. He took his little dumpling in his arms and blessed him. Then he handed the baby to his in-laws. Paul looked at his grandson grinning from ear to ear. His wife was crying tears of joy.
When Mr Taylor senior told his son about August’s good deed, Keith hugged August tightly and said, “Thank you so much, August. Bridgette was begging Dr Fowler to perform a C-Section. Miraculously, the baby started moving.”
Paul hugged his best friend tightly, then he hugged his son-in-law and congratulated him. A few minutes later, the head nurse took the child back to his mother.
Xavier looked at his wife with concern in his eyes and asked, “Sweetheart, do you still want to have more than one child?” He was really scared for his wife. Giving birth was so painful.
Avery flashed him a beautiful smile and replied, “Yes, my love. We will have three children.”
Later, Bridgette was wheeled to the Taylor family’s private ward. Her family followed behind her. Mr Taylor senior thanked his daughter-in-law for giving him his little dumpling.
Mr Taylor senior beamed with pride and named his little dumpling, Asher Taylor. He smiled and said, “Baby Asher is the Taylor family’s blessing. I never thought that I would ever hold Keith’s son in my arms since he was married to his job.”
Mrs Evans kissed and hugged her daughter and praised her for being brave. Then she called her best friend, Aunt Rose, and told her the good news. Aunt Rose was over the moon and said, “Congratulations, my best friend.”
Aunt Rose asked her husband to accompany her to the mall to buy the baby clothes. They went to Sugar Lump to buy tiny t-shirts, vests and tiny pants. Her husband took her to the hospital carrying the shopping bags.
Two days later, Bridgette was discharged from the hospital. Her parents moved to Keith and Bridgette’s mansion to help her with the baby. They were over the moon for being grandparents.
