Emily, standing nearby, shouted excitedly. Rhys and Griffin couldn’t help but smile wryly at her reaction. They had been secretly protecting Emily all along. Earlier that day, while Emily was out shopping with Esther and others, she was kidnapped when she went to the restroom. Rhys and Griffin followed the kidnappers all the way to this place. Upon discovering it was the Flying Leopards’ hideout, they immediately launched a rescue operation for Emily.
Rhys and Griffin felt helpless. Emily had always been a troublemaker since childhood. If not for the powerful influence of the Silverstone family, she might have been in serious trouble long ago. After fending off the Flying Leopards members, Rhys and Griffin returned to Emily’s side.
Emily pouted and complained, “Why did you two come back? Hurry up and kill them all!” Rhys frowned and said, “Emily, our task is to protect you, not to eliminate the Flying Leopards.” Although eliminating the Flying Leopards was within their capabilities, their mission was solely to protect Emily.
“You two are infuriating!” Emily shouted angrily when Rhys and Griffin didn’t follow her orders. They were used to her tantrums by now. In the Silverstone family, only her sister had real authority. As for Emily, it was a blessing if she didn’t cause trouble.
Rhys suggested, “Emily, let’s go back.” Emily huffed, “I’m not going back; I want to stay here and play.” Rhys and Griffin were exasperated. Protecting Emily was exhausting because they never knew what bizarre ideas she might come up with next.
Suddenly, Rhys and Griffin noticed Chris Shelby and his group approaching. Without any hesitation, Griffin charged at Chris Shelby with incredible speed, reaching him in an instant and throwing a heavy punch at his face. Chris Shelby responded with a cold snort and met Griffin’s punch with his own. The impact sent Griffin flying backward into a building, collapsing it entirely.
Griffin struggled to stand up, looking at Chris Shelby with a serious expression. He hadn’t expected Chris Shelby to be so powerful. Despite being from a hidden family, he wasn’t a match for Chris Shelby.
Chris Shelby ignored Rhys and Griffin and turned his attention to Emily. “Uncle!” Emily cried out with a look of grievance on her face. “Who are you? We are Emily’s bodyguards, Rhys and Griffin!” they demanded warily.
Chris Shelby glanced at them with narrowed eyes. He had known that Emily wasn’t an ordinary person but hadn’t expected her to have two Transcendence-level protectors. “Who I am is none of your concern,” Chris Shelby replied dismissively.
Rhys and Griffin were taken aback by his arrogance, making their expressions darken. Emily approached Chris Shelby eagerly, asking, “Uncle, did you come to save me?” Chris Shelby replied coldly, “Just stop causing trouble for me.”
Bull then approached Chris Shelby and reported, “Mr. Shelby, all Flying Leopards members have been dealt with, but we didn’t find their leader Heathcliff Hunter. According to other high-ranking members’ confessions, Heathcliff Hunter has gone to meet Crazy Steer leader Ironheart Steer.”
Chris Shelby frowned upon hearing this. He hadn’t expected Heathcliff Hunter and Ironheart Steer to be in cahoots.
Meanwhile, at the East Coast dockyard, a large cargo ship was anchored offshore. Crazy Steer leader Ironheart Steer met with Flying Leopards leader Heathcliff Hunter on the ship.
Heathcliff Hunter looked shocked as Ironheart Steer spoke, “Mr. Steer, you want me to help you seize control of East Coast’s underworld?” Ironheart Steer nodded affirmatively.
Heathcliff Hunter’s face darkened as he replied, “Mr. Steer, forgive my bluntness but your Crazy Steer gang has been crippled by East Coast Securities; it’s nearly impossible for you to take over as the underworld boss.”
Since Chris Shelby consolidated East Coast’s underground world under East Coast Securities’ control, Ironheart Steer had always wanted to challenge their dominance but failed miserably in their last confrontation.
Ironheart Steer smiled at Heathcliff Hunter and said, “If you help me become the underworld boss of East Coast, your Flying Leopards can become the second-largest gang here.”
Heathcliff Hunter sneered internally; once Crazy Steer became dominant again, there would be no room for Flying Leopards. Realizing this was a losing proposition for him, Heathcliff Hunter sternly replied, “Mr. Steer, I cannot agree to this request; if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave.”
Seeing Heathcliff Hunter’s refusal angered Ironheart Steer greatly. He retorted coldly, “Do you think you can leave so easily?”
Heathcliff Hunter’s face changed instantly as he realized Ironheart Steer’s intentions. “Ironheart Steer,” he warned sternly, “stopping me won’t be easy.”
“Brothers! Attack!” Heathcliff Hunter commanded as over a hundred Flying Leopards members charged forward-all Grandmaster-level practitioners prepared for combat.
Ironheart Steer smirked coldly at the sight of them charging forward before signaling a black-clad man beside him who swiftly moved into action.
