At dusk, the twilight painted the sky like a magician’s hand, making the world look dreamlike. Spencer left the set and drove Summer to a restaurant for their date. Midway, he received a call from Ivan. “Bro,” he answered happily, his smile filled with joy. Spencer had been in a great mood these past few days; ever since his proposal was accepted, he even smiled in his dreams.
“You’re getting married?” Ivan’s deep voice carried no reproach for not being informed first; instead, it was filled with genuine happiness for his brother. “Congratulations to both of you.”
“Sorry, bro, I didn’t mean to not tell you,” Spencer quickly explained, realizing it was impolite. “You were reunited abroad, and I didn’t want to trouble you with my affairs…”
“No need to explain, I understand,” Ivan reassured him. “You should call Mom about the wedding and invite her personally. She’ll definitely come back; she even wants to help you with the kids.”
“Of course, I’ll call her,” Spencer laughed. “I’ve been thinking about it and keeping it in mind. We’re still in the planning stages, haven’t invited any guests yet or sent out invitations. If she’s willing to help with the kids, I’d be incredibly grateful. But your wife is about to give birth; can she manage?”
“One kid or two, three or four, it’s all the same,” Ivan laughed. “If you need help with the wedding arrangements, just let me know.”
Spencer felt deeply moved by Ivan’s fatherly concern. “Sure thing, bro. I won’t be shy about it!”
“I’ll cover all the wedding expenses,” Ivan said seriously.
“No need for that; I’ve got money,” Spencer replied politely. “I’d be grateful if you could officiate the wedding.”
Ivan chuckled and asked, “What are you up to now?”
“Driving,” Spencer glanced happily at the girl in the passenger seat. “Going on a date.”
“Alright then, I won’t disturb you. I’ll be back soon.” Ivan said goodbye and hung up.
This also meant that Tom Fritz’s grandmother would return home soon, bringing along her beloved granddaughter-in-law Lisa.
Spencer put down his phone and pulled out a property deed from somewhere, handing it to the girl beside him. “Take a look?”
Summer looked at him puzzled but took the document and opened it. She found that he had added her name to his mansion’s property deed!
Summer stared at her name before turning to him abruptly. “Is this necessary?”
He grinned at her. “Nothing beats having your name on the deed.”
Summer paused before nodding with a smile. “Not bad, gives me a sense of security without me even asking.”
“There will always be things I might overlook; you need to speak up and remind me,” Spencer said as he held her hand. “Summer, do you know what my dream is for the rest of my life?”
“What is it?”
“I want to be the best husband in our circle, better than Tristan, Rowan, and my brother!” Spencer declared confidently.
“Oh wow, then I’ll be so happy! I’m touched by your determination,” Summer laughed. “Those three are already perfect.”
“Feel free to supervise; I aim to be perfect too!” Spencer loved her deeply, down to his very bones.
At dusk at Fritz Manor.
Tom Fritz hadn’t gone to work these past few days; he was in a constant bad mood with rarely any smiles on his face. He was waiting for his grandmother to return home; once he saw her, he planned to return to his lab.
