Nebraska’s teeth clenched around meat and hot liquid filled its snout. A heartrending howl invaded the expanse of the area so that everyone froze with their tails between their legs and their ears down.
Liam shook himself trying to remove the smaller she-wolf on top and turned his head, grabbing her paw, burying his fangs into the thin skin, smashing the thin bones and throwing her aside. Nebraska landed a few feet from him and sat up spitting in disgust at a piece of meat she had brought with her. The leg that had been bitten was rebuilt with incredible speed. Layan’s blood had given him the ability to regenerate and the strength in his body accelerated this process.
For his part, the wound he had left on Liam’s neck did not close as the ones caused by Hades or Layan had. Blood was spilled on the ground in great quantities. The wolf growled loudly in outrage.
– Damn – he almost screamed in his mind but the voice came out almost diffuse- Damn you and your despicable daughter – he shook his head in exasperation- Get her out of my mind – She felt like something was leaking little by little.
Nebraska could hear laughter spilling over to her.
– Come on wolf, don’t be so soft, give me more fight. You are very boring – her laugh this time became weird – Amuse me –
The omega gulped. That was her daughter, but she was something different from whoever she had imagined. She knew that the blood she had consumed had caused her daughter’s consciousness to be formed even if her body was barely a pimple inside her body. She used the bridge that she had created to be able to move towards her greatest enemy.
The hair on the omega’s back stood on end. Still it was not enough. His bloodshot eyes. The smell of her husband’s carmine liquid reached her snout. She couldn’t remember the last time she was so upset and seeing the body of the dark wolf made her rage rise to uncontrollable levels. Growling, she bent the front of her body and gathering momentum, she lunged again quickly. Liam moved and faced her. Just a meter in front of him she leapt to the side and dodged the toothy mouth that was going against her and leapt to the right. It pushed off with its hind legs and, opening its mouth, attacked the throat again.
Liam moved just as fast and dodged her. It was getting harder and harder to attack him. Despite its strength, size was a drawback. Nebraska whirled to regain the attack when something fell on her and bit the back of her neck. She shook himself hard, managing to get away to see a small wolf of the iron pack.
This time she felt Liam’s laugh in her mind.
-Your daughter may be strong but she can’t do anything when I control only a small number, my influence is much greater-
Nebraska searched for her daughter but was unable to establish contact with her. She could feel the enemy herd around her beginning to slow down the attack, so she was still doing his thing in there somewhere. Liam no longer had control over them but instead had focused on just one thing. In destroying her. He had realized that if he couldn’t have her for himself, then it wouldn’t be anyone’s.
Nebraska ran backwards when she was attacked again this time by two larger wolves. Soon she was surrounded by six. Liam just watched from a few feet as the scene unfolded. He no longer cared if he owned the Hades pack. He had defeated him, as well as Layan. He would only need to subjugate the wolf who broke each of his plans and everyone would bow before him, without any protest.
The omega did not back down. It was much harder to fight everyone than it was Liam. The reason, she knew how strong her bites were and that she could kill them very easily and she did not want that. Nor could she access their minds. Being so closed the circle of concentration of the other omega was like an impenetrable wall. She growled, but this only incited those around her and one of them jumped onto her back.
Nebraska turned to face him when a shadow passed over her head and collided with the attacker, taking him with him. Soon she was able to identify Siran. Yet another lunged at her but was attacked by Saisen. Followed by them came the rest of the wolves in charge of his guardianship allowing him to open the way. Once Nebraska made sure that they could keep up with the attackers, she fixed her attention on their objective.
The wolf began to advance towards her, lowering his head threateningly. His eyes had lost their irises and his muzzle was bubbling. It was way beyond annoying. Nebraska faced him and ran towards him jumping and colliding their bodies. They both fell to the ground in a bite fight where the sound of bones crushing, skin tearing and blood gushing out was all that could be heard. Even Saisen had to stop to see the horrendous image, almost getting bitten by the wolf beneath him who wouldn’t give up.
He wanted to go help her but she had strictly said not to intervene. A bite from Liam could be lethal and as those beasts fought it would only be a hindrance. Siran had tamed the little cub leaving him unconscious and not very injured between his legs and no detail of the scene was lost either. He did not know where one wolf began and another began. His heart was beating without knowing what the result would be. Besides, worrying about his alpha was something that was driving him crazy.
Liam and Nebraska parted ways. The body of the wolf regenerating causing her pain. Her condition was deplorable not unlike Liam. They had given their best in the fight and their coats were full of blood and dirt. Even so, the wolf with his enormous size and full of wounds stood up to attack her again not caring that half of his body was covered with wounds.
Suddenly a dark wolf fell onto Liam’s back and bit deeply into the back. Although it did not cause much damage and this wound was closed, but at least it managed to knock it aside. The wolf jumped up and landed next to Nebraska and licked behind the ear. The omega’s heart beat with relief and she groaned accordingly. Hades, her husband was relatively fine, he was alive.
Nebraska quickly scanned its fur with its snout for wounds to find them healing. That only meant one thing. On the other side of Liam, Layan was walking towards them. He looked tired but ready to keep fighting. The omega staggered slightly in relief but recovered instantly. She found a still gaping wound on Hades’s lower neck and licked it while he kept track of his enemy who was already on his feet again.
Once she noticed that the wound was starting to close more quickly she took a step forward but Hades grabbed her hair from her side with his mouth making her back away.
-I won’t let you fight alone-
-And I will not risk losing you -he said- I will not allow myself to see you again thinking that you are dead-
Hades said nothing for a few seconds and leaned in, licking the side of her face.
-You won’t lose me, but let me fight by your side-
-Me too-they could hear how Layan got into their conversation.
Nebraska turned her head forward and nodded.
-Then cover me, let’s not delay this any more-
And the three of them ran towards Liam.
