Daughter of Ma

Hearing that voice, Nebraska tried to back off without success. Her surroundings turned totally gray and all the connections she had created with her pack were broken. Everything vanished, only her consciousness remaining in an empty place. She narrowed her eyes and took a deep breath. Footsteps were heard behind her and she turned slowly knowing who was there.
-My beautiful wolf- Liam stopped a few meters from her with a strange smile on his lips.
-Liam- Nebraska’s voice came out calm despite the situation -Apparently eating Rudoc’s heart drove you crazier than you already were-
-Crazy?- He laughed louder. -I’ve never been saner in all my life, my precious jewel–
That he called her with all those words only made her feel disgusted. If it came from her husband, it wouldn’t be like that, when Hades said beautiful things to her ear, when they made love or just being by his side, it made her legs shake.
-Don’t think of another when I’m talking to you- the wolf growled loudly- Hades, Hades, he has broken all my plans. I wanted to become one of his pack but he was always a problem and you, you, have never looked at me differently from a servant- his voice rose, his eyes bloodshot.
-You’re wrong Liam- she remained neutral- There was a moment when I saw you as my friend, a wolf to trust blindly, but now, I don’t even recognize you-
Liam stood still for a few seconds and then Nebraska didn’t know if he laughed or sobbed. He was really crazy. The omega stepped back. She must try to regain control of her consciousness, the longer she was trapped there, along with him, the more danger would be her pack and her loved ones.
-You can’t escape- Liam seemed like he could read her mind and he did -I’m inside your precious conscience, I know everything you think. You became strong, I have to admit that I never would have thought that you would block my control over the pack, but that is your greatest weakness- Nebraska could feel a drop of sweat running down her back -The more you open your mind the more vulnerable your own becomes. That’s why it was easy for me to get in. It is as you say, you don’t need to take down the wolves, you only have to do it with whoever controls them. The same goes for you my precious-
Liam began to move forward smoothly and she backed away, keeping her distance wisely. She repudiated his touch. Even though there was no longer a wound on her back thanks to the strong regeneration due to the blood of the alphas, she would always remember the pain of their fangs breaking her skin.
-You can’t escape my Nebraska. I’m much stronger than you in terms of control, plus it’s just you and me here, in this empty space, we can stay here forever. Can you imagine, we could be happy, no one would interfere-
-Not in your worst dreams,- she replied through clenched teeth thinking that she should go back quickly, if Liam was there it would mean that Hades could be in danger.
A laugh came out of Liam’s mouth again, this time he doubled over, unable to contain his laughter.
-Hades, Hades, you only think about him. But do not worry, my beauty, you will not have to do it anymore- the color left Nebraska’s face -Look at the most beautiful image you will see in your life-
Behind the omega the gray space faded slightly, revealing the outside. Everything was like frozen. Nobody moved, it was as if the time they were there was non-existent. But that’s not what got Nebraska’s attention. In the distance he saw two bodies on the ground bathed in blood. She felt herself shaking completely and her mouth going dry. There was no mistaking the two bodies on the ground were Layan and her husband.
-To tell the truth it was very easy to kill them-
-It’s a lie- he breathed with difficulty.
-Nebraska I wouldn’t lie to you, you know that what I’m showing you is reality. Your husband and that alpha thought they could against me and look; now they are just more of the lot- he looked at her from the side- We can reach an agreement-
Nebraska’s eyes closed recovering the control. She searched for her connection to Hades and like she thought there was nothing, she could not feel anything from the outside. She was trapped in her own conscience and could only get out if she expelled Liam.
-Your husband is dead, the strongest alpha of the Council too, it’s only a matter of time before I kills everyone who gets in my way and takes power, but you can prevent this massacre. Surrender to me and I will forgive all who bow at my feet. I know very well that wolves and cubs have refugees. What would it be like to kill them in front of your eyes? Would you be able to hold it? – He laughed madly without caring if it hurt the omega, the crueler, the faster she would break.
-Don’t talk like that to ma,- a warm, melodious voice echoed behind Nebraska as arms wrapped around her neck emerging from the dark mist that enveloped them.
Liam’s eyes widened and he stepped back accordingly. This time he was the one who went pale. He pointed a finger at the person leaning against Nebraska, who couldn’t shake a shocked expression either.
-You, you, who are you? How could you get in-
-I don’t need to come in. I was always here- the lips of the newcomer were raised -I am her daughter, the one who is formed in her womb, the offspring of the alpha who is out there, the one who will be the strongest wolf ever born, Priscilla, it’s not nice to meet you-
Nebraska was left admiring the girl next to him. It was practically her same image except for his silver eyes and hair much darker and wavy, long to the waist reminding him of the fatherly figure. Her scent was indisputable, she was his daughter. She put her hand to her belly and felt. A hand of her daughter rested on hers.
-Ma, I’m here to help you- the wolf smiled at her but her eyes were empty and her smile was so false -Ma, I will take care of this wolf in your conscience, leave it to me, you destroy it outside, it is waiting for you-
-How can you …?- A finger rested on Neberaska’s lips before receiving a kiss on her cheek.
-Ma, it’s not time for that,- she whispered. -You’ll understand later- She focused on Liam who still seemed dumbfounded. -Kill him, ma, I’ll help you from here and also take care of the red-haired wolf-
Nebraska was going to say something to her but everything suddenly went black and she found herself again standing before the unfolding war. She had been pushed out of her own consciousness and although she no longer had the weight to maintain the bridge and the connections, they were still there. She worried about what had just happened but she had to trust, the one who had proclaimed herself as her daughter had had the power to get her out even when she had been trapped. Saisen beside her was shaking her by the shoulder.
-Queen, how good you reacted, you stayed lost for a few minutes- the old alpha had some scratches on his arms and around him there were some wolves on the ground. Including several of theirs.
She blinked at what had just happened and could only come to one conclusion. This had to stop. She could feel the presence of her daughter inside his head and in her throbbing stomach. She was strong, it seemed as if she had absorbed the blood of the alphas from within.
-Saisen, I’ll put an end to this,- and before he could reply she jumped tearing at the clothes and turning her body into her animal form.
Those who cared for her were stunned by her swift action and by the time they reacted she was already rapidly moving away. Saisen grunted and transformed running after followed by the others. His duty was to protect her at any cost.
Nebraska ran easily dodging any obstacle, and that wolf that dared to get in her way was as if a barrier struck him and he fell to the ground unconscious. She knew her daughter had taken control of her mind and was taking care of the hardest part by allowing her to focus on just one thing. Destroy Liam.
And she spotted it. The great wolf that was shaking himself. At his feet the image she had seen before of her husband and friend. Blind fury filled the interior of Nebraska and just yards from Liam, it leapt straight for his jugular.
