I’m not beautiful and I know it

He already knew the she-wolf’s name. Weird, strange, uncommon, but strong, worthy of the position she had been in. Nebraska, a name given to those who would not bow.
He could feel her body tremble under his fingers, although his countenance did not change. Her serious expression, with those beautiful totally neutral violet eyes.
She had learned well. A pack leader could never show his emotions even if he was destroying himself inside. They were the support of the pack, if they fell apart, they were all doomed.
-Rudoc made a good choice in marrying you, too bad he didn’t know how to take advantage of you -Nebraska swallowed when she heard her husband’s name -Don’t worry about him. We have him confined in one of our cells until the Council decides his future-
-And … and the pack- she said with difficulty. Once she knew her children were safe, her second priority came. Her other family.
Hades frowned remembering not the state of the wolves.
-I will tell you the details later, you are not in a position to know-
She shifted uncomfortably with a low growl.
-They are my pack- she released word one after another with effort -I want to know … what happens with … them- a coughing attack was present and Nebraska put her hand to his chest to try to relieve it. Her lungs and throat tightened as if it were the desert itself.
Hades sighed picking up the glass of water that had been forgotten on the table next to the bed. He took a large sip and held it without swallowing it. He held the wolf’s head and drew her to him, bringing their lips together as he let the warm liquid pass from his mouth to hers.
He could feel the nails dug into his forearms and hear the swallowing sound of her. He opened his eyes to find hers so clear he struggled with himself. It seemed incredible to him that she did not fight him, that she did not struggle because he was touching her so intimately, even if his action had no sexual connotation. He just let her go with the flow knowing and analyzing the situation and who was stronger. He released her letting the smaller body end its spasms as she glanced at him.
The contact had been strange. Her lips weren’t even ridiculously close to the soft and delicate he was used to and the impression that she could break her simple somewhat skeletal body slowly awakened the savage part within him.
He stood looking at her from above, grabbing her chin again while a thin liquid line still remained on the side of her chin. He wiped it with his thumb on instinct. An internal pulse shook him. He shouldn’t risk doing something like this again, his zeal was bordering on and his animal mind was too strong to stay sane in that period. The consequences would be devastating and unprofitable.
He admired her face for a few seconds even though her appearance was not the most desirable. Her dark hair was all tangled at the waist, perhaps longer. Her face had gained a few pounds, but her cheekbones were still very pronounced, he was sure they would disappear as soon as he began to consume food. But what most caught her attention was the intensity with which she was looking at him, the response to him. She might be afraid of him, but she stood her ground. They did not challenge him, but he commanded their respect. And that it was only an omega. The years in power and in the cell had forged that unbreakable character before any wolf. She was definitely the right one.
-Your pack is fine. I placed them in some of the houses that my people did not use and some males have them locked up- he stopped studying her worried expression- Some are out of control-
Nebraska frowned, showing a grimace that even hurt her.
-You’re not beautiful- he told her with blunt calm.
That was something Nebraska knew. Most of the wolves had the beauty attributes necessary to captivate her long-time partner. Instead, she was petite, and while her curves weren’t stunning they were well positioned, though at this point she would need quite a few extra pounds. As for her face, she might not be the diva of the pack, but she wasn’t the ugliest either. She was just normal. Wolf problem if he was not satisfied with what was in front of him. She was tired and burdened with so much bossy testosterone around her.
She shook her face trying to free himself from Hades’s grip, but he didn’t let go of her chin. He only smiled slightly.
-You are not weak- her voice became more serious- To be an omega-
Her skin prickled and she swallowed loudly. The atmosphere in the room became heavy.
-I wonder what I’ll do with you-
He released her and sat on the edge of the bed. Nebraska backed cautiously until she hit his back.
The man was big. He couldn’t define it in detail, but his fuzzy silhouette covered everything behind him.
She had only seen him once and she was practically a child, but she could not forget it. Tall, strong, muscular, graceful, and refined and the list could go on.
His long dark hair looked delicious to the touch, and those eyes. Like molten
silver. Serious, shiny and captivating. At that moment she had been admiring him for the few seconds she had seen him and from there he had vanished from her thoughts. At that age she barely knew the L for liking or the C for commitment.
How blissful may be the fate to unite those years later. How damn it can be.
