Ulric’s body suddenly froze, and he didn’t speak. He took Cedric’s phone and glanced at it.
The announcement was glaringly clear, with a strong and piercing tone.
“Mr. Walters, this…”
“Notify the official website immediately to take down this announcement,” he instructed. He knew Rosalind must have seen it. So much time had passed, and she hadn’t contacted him, which meant the trust he had painstakingly built was likely destroyed.
One troublesome issue after another, Ulric realized that the matter concerning Sirena needed to be resolved swiftly and decisively.
He boarded a plane to the airport, attempting to call Rosalind on the way, but no one answered.
After hesitating for a moment, Ulric decided against sending her a message.
Given the current situation, his mother had probably involved his father as well. She was determined to make Sirena her daughter-in-law, regardless of the cost.
He still didn’t fully understand the reason behind it.
All along, Ulric thought his mother simply liked Sirena and wanted her to marry him. But now it seemed there was a deeper reason…
Today’s drastic measure was clearly intended to force him to agree! If she merely liked Sirena, she wouldn’t have taken such extreme actions.
“Mr. Walters, should I call Rosalind to explain? This statement wasn’t issued by you.”
“No need. I’ll see her when I get back.”
He knew this matter couldn’t be clarified with just a few words.
What lay ahead was likely far more complicated than he initially thought.
Cedric nodded and sat quietly beside him, not daring to say more.
Having followed Mr. Walters for so many years, he rarely saw Ulric in such a dark mood. With his thin lips pressed together, Ulric exuded an aura that warned others to stay away.
Finally arriving at the airport, Ulric strode inside as his phone rang.
He immediately looked down, but unfortunately, the number wasn’t the one he was hoping for.
Even though he knew Rosalind’s personality wouldn’t lead her to call him first, he still felt a bit disappointed seeing it wasn’t her.
Ulric answered the call in a deep voice.
“Father.”
“The matters in Fragrant Harbor aren’t fully resolved yet. Why are you rushing back to Northville City?”
Caesar’s voice was harsh and his tone stern. Although phrased as a question, both knew the answer well.
“I won’t fire Rosalind.”
“You’re being ridiculous! Are you going to disregard your mother for a woman?!” Caesar raised his voice further. He rarely scolded his son, whom he had always been proud of.
“She was wronged. W Group won’t wrong any employee. I will investigate this thoroughly.”
“There’s nothing to investigate. I’ve already made the decision for you! Since you’re heading back to Northville City, go to the hospital and apologize to your mother immediately upon arrival. Agree to marry Sirena.”
Ulric frowned. “I won’t marry her.”
“Do you want your mother to die? She’s already in the hospital. Do you want her in a coffin before you’re satisfied?” Caesar paused, then softened his tone slightly. “Ulric, as a man, I understand youthful passion and having someone you care about is normal. But you must understand your responsibilities and what you should or shouldn’t do.”
“Marrying Sirena is what I should do?”
“Yes! If you truly like this Rosalind, you can see her privately. I can turn a blind eye.”
