As instructed by Nicholas, Olivia brought her face down, as she walked behind Nicholas. It wasn’t long before they reached outside the school, heading to where the car was parked. Olivia could see the press, hovering around the school gate.
They couldn’t get in, as it was against the school’s policy. Olivia, who had her head brought down, could see their feet stomping towards them, their voices chattering, as all of them were saying something. More like throwing questions at Nicholas.
“Sir, don’t you work for Mr Gilbert? What are you doing in Redcrest High college today?”
“Sir, did you watch the video of a student who brutally bullied another student? What’s your take on it?”
Nicholas ignored their question, as he quickened his pace, to make sure Olivia was inside the car. His plan was successful, before the press could get to the car, Olivia was already inside the car.
Morgan’s men, who came along with Nicholas, made it easier for him to get into the car, as they were holding back the desperate press, giving Nicholas more time to go into the car.
Morgan’s Mansion.
Morgan could be seen, sitting on one of the sofas in the living room. His gaze was gathered and focused on the glass of wine in his hand.
He only moved to look, when he heard and noticed Olivia’s and Nicholas’s footsteps. One glance at Nicholas, who seemed to understand what he meant, bowed and left.
Olivia’s heart was starting to pound hard, as she was now left with Morgan alone, she brought her face down, as not to see this accusing face, while waiting for him to say something.
“Are you okay? Were you hurt?” Morgan suddenly asked, startling Olivia. Her heart raced more wildly, as she slowly brought her face to look at him. He was now standing close to her.
“Yu-you’re not going to say something about the video?” She stuttered, unable to hold eye contact between them.
“Shhh.” Morgan cooed, as he instantly grabbed her waist and pulled her into him.
Olivia stilled, as his cologne and natural smell invaded her nose, surprisingly calming her nerve. It was as if the feelings she’s been trying to lock and shoot out, were resurfacing.
Although, Olivia had made up her mind to lock away every atom of likeness she had towards Morgan. But lately, they had been resurfacing, making her have a double mind. If it was one of the reactions of her pregnancy or because he had been extremely nice to her lately, she had no idea.
“You’re tired.” Morgan murmured, before Olivia could say a word, he carried her off her feet and left for the room. But before that, he already asked one of the servants to prepare a warm tea for her.
Morgan brought her to his bedroom and laid her on the bed. Olivia was surprisingly quiet, as she couldn’t find any will power to protest or question him.
She remained silent, and watched Morgan as he stirred the tea brought by the servant. He brought out a large portion of tonic and added it to the tea.
Olivia knew she would sleep off as soon as she gulped it down, before Morgan could make her drink it, she glanced at him.
“You’re really not going to say anything about the video?” She asked, as her gaze scanned his face.
Morgan paused, stirring the tea and looked at her. “You will stop asking about the video, it’s taken care off.” He said, and returned to stirring the tea.
It wasn’t the answer Olivia wanted, and she was sure he knew the answer he needed, but was just being stingy with it.
Not wanting her to ask another question, Morgan helped her up and gave her the glass of tea. Olivia took it and gulped it down, it wasn’t even up to ten minutes she felt sleepy and slept off.
Morgan monitored her for a while, his gaze lingering on her face longer than he expected, while his heart tugged with emotions he was far from being familiar with.
He only looked away, when his phone buzzed, indicating an incoming call, coming from Nicholas.
Shortly after the call had ended, Morgan gave Olivia one last, as he stood up and left the room.
The tension inside the study room was cold and tense, as Nicholas kept spilling all the information he had.
“Is that all?” Morgan asked, clenching his fist under the table.
Nicholas shook his head, hesitating to say the last information he had.
“Do I have to ask you again?” Morgan’s deep yet cold voice demanded.
Nicholas shook his head and swallowed, “A woman came to the company a few day ago, she said she wanted to talk to you, but because you weren’t around she left.”
“I didn’t see her, the receptionist did, she said she visited three times.”
Morgan frowned deeply, “Is there any other thing?”
“She dropped her name. Laura Forbes.”
“Laura Forbes” Morgan muttered, his lips curving up into a smirk.
Morgan glanced at Nicholas and nodded, “You’re free to go, if that’s all.”
Nicholas nodded and got up, he hadn’t gotten to the door, when Morgan’s next words stopped him.
“I increased your salary.”
He turned sharply, and bowed, “Thank you sir, I’m really grateful.” he said, beaming with happiness.
Morgan nodded, and looked away. If anything, he should be the one thanking Nicholas. Although he was paying him, Nicholas’ loyalty and respect towards him was top notch, which had sometimes saved his life. Only if someone like him was his brother.
Morgan’s thought drifted back to the woman who was looking for him, Laura Forbes. His phone vibrated, he glanced at him to see it was a message from an unknown number.
‘Hey Morgan, hope you haven’t forgotten about me?’
