Flynn, unaware and unconcerned with the thoughts of the Stewart family, prided himself on being a ‘marriage-breaking prince’, having already dissolved three couples.
His actions would surely give even the matchmaker god a headache, but Flynn remained indifferent.
Not one to mince words, Flynn made sure anyone who crossed him felt the pain.
Just like at Demon Island Prison, where new inmates, arrogant and defiant, thought they ruled the place-Flynn never bothered to correct them.
“Act wild if you want, but don’t get in my way.”
Did they think kneeling and apologizing to Flynn would settle everything?
Not a chance.
He’d whip them fiercely, hang them up, and break their spirit.
Driving to the hospital, Flynn planned to visit Paulina and Madeline, although he was reluctant.
But since Paulina was Uncle Kaur’s wife and he knew about her situation, he felt obligated to visit.
“Look who’s here! Flynn! With him involved, there’s no problem!” Matteo laughed heartily, ushering Flynn into the hospital room.
Matteo, unaware of the Stewart family’s influence, wasn’t overly concerned after the incident.
After all, Flynn knew Orion; dealing with the Stewart family would be a piece of cake for him.
However, Paulina snorted coldly upon seeing Flynn, refusing even to drink her porridge.
She knew about Flynn’s visit to the Stewart family.
To her, Flynn’s actions were merely sycophantic, attempting to win back favor and possibly reconcile with Madeline by solving her problems.
After all, their daughter was beautiful and competent, without a single flaw-who wouldn’t appreciate that?
In another era, Madeline would have been a queen.
Flynn must have divorced impulsively and now regretted it.
Idiot!
Thinking he could take on the Stewart family with Nathan’s few connections? Utterly delusional!
Don’t expect our gratitude; rather, you should be thanking us.
If Madeline hadn’t called Nathan, you wouldn’t be prancing around here-the Stewart family would have finished you off!
Flynn set a fruit gift basket on the table, smiling, “I brought some nutritional gifts, though I’m not sure if they’re to your liking.”
“Are you feeling any better?”
Paulina’s face was wrapped in bandages, revealing only her eyes and mouth, evidently having been beaten badly.
Madeline’s face was also swollen, her lips cracked, looking exhausted.
“Not good, I want to rest,” Paulina stated bluntly, having no desire to see Flynn.
She thought Flynn was just showing off his bravery, trying to mend their relationship.
Paulina was thoroughly annoyed.
“Stop calling her ‘aunt’, call her ‘mom’! It’s been two months since you married, time to change how you address her,” Matteo said cheerfully, patting Flynn’s shoulder.
His child had finally made something of himself, no longer needing him to worry about work.
With that miraculous medical skill, they’d never want for anything.
“Oh, right, Flynn, your mom has been constantly passing gas after meals and feels bloated. I told her to see a doctor, but she doesn’t take it seriously.”
“You know medicine, take a look at her,” Matteo suddenly remembered, urging Flynn.
Paulina’s response was cold, “We only have a marriage certificate, no wedding yet, so it’s not official. Keep calling me ‘aunt’, I’m not used to ‘mom’!”
“And my little ailment has cleared up; I just asked the doctor, and it’s nothing serious.”
Despite Flynn’s medical skills, Paulina resisted any involvement with him, unwilling to owe him any favors.
Now, her thoughts were constantly on Nathan.
“Did the doctor say everything was fine?” Flynn frowned, somewhat doubtful, “Did your aunt have an abdominal CT scan?”
Paulina was taken aback, and then replied coldly, “Yes, she’s very healthy.”
“The doctor said I could live to be a hundred, enjoying endless glory and wealth.”
She had only had a chest and brain CT scan, checking her brain and stomach.
To quickly get rid of Flynn, she had pretended to have had an abdominal CT.
Matteo frowned, feeling that Paulina was being sarcastic and began to wonder.
What’s wrong with this woman?
Flynn has helped our family, why is she still acting this way?
Could it be that she heard Flynn gave Jessica thirty million, and she got nothing, so she’s sulking?
This foolish woman, with Flynn as a son-in-law, the Kaur family wouldn’t just have thirty million, but thirty billion in the future!
Long hair, short wit!
Upon hearing Paulina’s words, Flynn was taken aback, not because of her tone, but because he was puzzled about her illness.
Paulina’s sclerae were yellow, her body had grown much thinner, her abdomen was slightly enlarged, and her skin showed a sickly yellow, with visible superficial blood vessels.
Her constant scratching indicated a definite liver issue.
“Aunt, I’m certain there’s a serious problem with your liver,” Flynn said seriously.
Paulina glared at him, scolding, “What nonsense are you talking? Are you wishing for my death every day?”
“I knew you were up to no good, always cursing and scaring me!”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine, and I’ll definitely live longer than you!”
“What are you talking about! How could Flynn curse you?” Matteo chided, then turned to Flynn and said:
“Could there be a mistake? Your aunt can eat and sleep, how could there be a problem with her liver?”
“Besides, didn’t she just say she had a CT scan? It must be just some inflammation.”
Flynn shook his head and said, “I’m ninety percent sure, only a pulse diagnosis could confirm the extent of the illness.”
“I suspect it’s a tumor.”
“Nonsense!” Paulina burst out, glaring at Flynn, “Are you here to see me or to curse me? Not a single word of blessing, and now bringing up such ominous talk.”
“Get out, get out now!”
Madeline frowned and said, “Mom, did the doctor really check you?”
“Why would I lie to you? The doctor said it’s nothing, just need some treatment for a few days.” Paulina stiffened her neck.
She didn’t believe she was ill at all, and was particularly resistant to Flynn, disliking him just for the sake of it.
So what if I don’t listen to you?
So what if I don’t want you showing off in front of me?
So what if I disgust you, annoy you, hate you, aggravate you?
So what if I want you to leave right now?
Thinking of giving me a pulse diagnosis? No way!
Touching you, bad luck for three years!
Such a jinx!
Flynn calmly said, “If Aunt believes she’s fine, then she’s fine.”
“Uncle Kaur, I’ll be leaving now. Let Aunt rest early.”
With that, he turned and left the hospital room.
Flynn’s warning to Paulina was also out of consideration for Matteo, as he didn’t want Matteo to worry if Paulina’s illness worsened.
And seeing Paulina’s condition, the tumor was probably not small. If the illness was left unchecked, treatment later could become very complicated.
So, he felt compelled to mention it.
Since Paulina wouldn’t listen, he would let it be.
After all, he was only concerned about Uncle Kaur, not the life and death of the other members of the Kaur family.
