This Traditional Medicine seminar attracted a large crowd, including many students from other universities.
Leo withdrew his gaze and followed the flow of people into the school.
Just as he entered the gate, someone bumped into his shoulder.
Leo stood firm, but the other person staggered.
“Can’t you watch where you’re going?” The person who bumped into Leo steadied himself, glanced at Leo, and complained.
After complaining, he no longer looked at Leo and quickly walked away with his companions.
Hearing their complaints, Leo was slightly taken aback. He hadn’t expected to encounter Koreans.
These two didn’t look like students. Could they also be here for the seminar?
The seminar was held in the school’s gymnasium, which could accommodate thousands of people.
In the center of the gymnasium, a stage had been set up, and the floor was covered with a red carpet.
On the stage, there was a row of chairs clearly prepared for special guests, with nameplates indicating their names.
Around the stage were circular chairs for the attendees.
Seeing that no one had taken their seats on the stage yet, Leo stood outside the stage area and waited.
A girl wearing glasses saw Leo standing straight in front and warmly greeted him, “Hey, are you from our TCM university? Come sit with us.”
Leo turned to look at her and smiled, “Thank you, but no need.”
After waiting for a few minutes and seeing people gradually taking their seats on the stage, Leo walked over.
He reported his name to the staff and showed his ID. The staff then guided him to his seat.
The girl with glasses had been watching Leo. Seeing that he was actually a special guest, she couldn’t help but excitedly discuss it with her classmates.
Fifteen minutes before the seminar began, the entire gymnasium was already packed. Many latecomers had no seats and could only stand in the open area or at the entrances.
This showed how popular the TCM seminar was.
The main reason was the impressive lineup of special guests.
It was said that four of the top ten TCM experts in Atraria were present.
The least noticeable among them was Leo, sitting at the far end.
Although Ty Chan had heard of Leo and had Dr. Rudolph’s recommendation, he still placed Leo at the farthest position.
Leo didn’t mind where he sat since he came with a casual attitude.
At exactly 2 PM, the dean of the TCM university took the microphone, cleared his throat, and raised his voice, “Everyone, please be quiet. I announce that the 8th Traditional Medicine Seminar officially begins!”
“Now, let’s welcome Principal Ty Chan of TCM University to speak!”
A round of enthusiastic applause erupted.
The microphone switched to Ty Chan. After the applause died down, he began with a prepared opening speech and then introduced the special guests.
“To my left is Brennen Holland, known as the ‘Holy Doctor,’ Dr. Holland!”
“To my right is Joshua Edwards, known as the ‘Medicine King of South Mountain,’ Master Joshua!”
The applause and cheers were loud and enthusiastic.
In Atraria’s TCM community, Brennen and Joshua were household names.
The special guests following Joshua were also highly respected in Atraria’s TCM community. Each introduction by Ty Chan was met with warm applause.
Soon, all special guests except Leo were introduced.
Ty Chan glanced at Leo and continued, “The last special guest is Dr. Leo Bloomer from Langstel Nameless Clinic.”
Ty Chan’s introduction of Leo was brief because he didn’t know much about him and because Leo had no notable honors to boast about.
In TCM circles, credentials, honors, and certificates were highly valued.
After Ty Chan’s brief introduction of Leo, unlike before, there was no enthusiastic applause. Instead, there was a moment of silence followed by noisy discussions.
“Leo? Never heard of him. Does anyone know him?”
“Never heard of him. And what’s Nameless Clinic?”
“A young TCM doctor like him must be unreliable. I don’t know what TCM University was thinking by inviting someone we’ve never heard of as a guest.”
“Shouldn’t they have invited Dr. Rudolph?”
“I get it. This Leo must have some kind of background. He’s just here to gain some prestige.”
“That’s very likely…”
The young students saw that Leo wasn’t much older than them and felt indignant.
Hearing their discussions, Ty Chan felt a bit embarrassed.
If it weren’t for Dr. Rudolph’s strong recommendation and wanting to do him a favor, he wouldn’t have invited Leo as a special guest.
Leo, on the other hand, remained calm as if he hadn’t heard the discussions below.
Seeing that the discussions weren’t stopping, Ty Chan raised his hand and said loudly, “Everyone, please be quiet. Now let’s welcome Master Joshua Edwards to speak!”
The crowd stopped discussing Leo and turned their attention to Joshua, clapping excitedly again.
Joshua smiled gently, adjusted his reading glasses, took out his prepared speech, and began speaking, “I am honored to attend the 8th Traditional Medicine Seminar…”
Leo turned to look at Joshua. The elder known as the Medicine King of South Mountain appeared to be in his seventies with a head of white hair but seemed quite spirited.
“First, I want to talk about TCM. What do these two words mean?”
Joshua glanced around and saw everyone listening attentively. He raised his voice slightly, “TCM refers to traditional medicine created in Atraria. It is a discipline that studies human physiology, pathology, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.”
“TCM carries the experience and theoretical knowledge of ancient Atrarian people in their fight against diseases. It is a medical theory system formed and developed through long-term medical practice under the guidance of ancient materialism and spontaneous dialectics.”
