Rosalind blinked and nodded after a few seconds, “Yes, I did.”
Ulric took long strides directly into the hotel room and closed the door.
Although they had done more intimate things many times before, being suddenly cornered by him, surrounded by his unique scent, still made Rosalind a bit flustered.
“What are you doing?”
“Don’t listen to those words.”
Rosalind looked into his eyes and saw anxiety in them!
“… It has nothing to do with me.” She tried to put some distance between herself and Ulric. Being this close made it hard for her to breathe.
But Ulric seemed to do it on purpose, she moved away, and he followed.
Finally, she heard him let out a shallow sigh.
“My mom, she was kidnapped. After being rescued, she became reclusive for a while and developed severe depression, often having suicidal tendencies.”
Rosalind hadn’t expected Ulric’s mother to have gone through such things! When she saw her earlier, she thought she was cheerful and talkative! Her voice was gentle and soft, completely embodying the image of a loving mother concerned for her son, with no hint of depression.
But why explain this to her?
“I can’t make her accept the idea of us getting married all at once. I’m sorry.”
This apology from Ulric took Rosalind nearly a minute to process before she could respond.
“Why are you apologizing to me?” She pursed her lips and after a while said, “Since your mother now only hopes you can marry Attorney Sirena, maybe we should terminate our agreement early, ”
“Rosalind, don’t even think about canceling the contract!”
Ulric’s voice suddenly rose several notches, startling Rosalind.
Seeing his dark and furrowed brows, she even wanted to ask directly if she was that good in bed. Things had come to this point, yet he still wouldn’t cancel the contract! As the president of W Group, he could have any woman he wanted. Why be so conflicted!
Could it be because he thought that night was her first time, so he feared being labeled as someone who starts but doesn’t finish?
Or perhaps Ulric had that kind of complex, given his severe cleanliness obsession.
The more Rosalind thought about it, the more convinced she became!
Because Tilda had previously educated her on this “knowledge,” saying that the more powerful and high-status a man is, the more he cares about a woman’s first time!
They believe such women are clean, both physically and mentally, and it greatly satisfies their male ego.
So after both of them remained silent for nearly ten minutes, Rosalind steeled herself and spoke directly.
“Mr. Walters, that membrane… doesn’t really mean anything. And even if we cancel the contract, I won’t tell anyone about this.”
Ulric was stunned. “What?”
“Ahem.” Rosalind turned her face away, feeling somewhat embarrassed. “I mean, if you’re feeling responsible because… because that night was my first time, you really don’t have to. I know you were drunk that night, it was unintentional. I won’t cling to you because of it.”
After she finished speaking, she didn’t dare look at Ulric’s expression again. She stiffly turned her gaze elsewhere.
After a while, she heard Ulric’s low voice with a noticeable graininess.
“You know, men don’t lose control when they’re drunk.”
“…”
“If I were really drunk, I wouldn’t have been able to react.”
