Z…. Z… Z… Z… Z.” George shuddered, his eyes bulged out of his sockets. He was too terrified to utter the remaining pronunciation. The man’s expression was sending shivers down his spine. “Z. a… ck Anderson..” He managed to get his words straight, but his heart still hammered in his chest.
Ivy sensed a very familiar presence, this made her lips curl up in delight. Who else has the power to make another frightened at the sight of him.
While George trembled in fear, his hands were still holding Ivy’s wrist.
“Take your filthy hands off my wife.” Zack’s voice was filled with asperity, sending a tingling sensation of horror all over George.
“Yes… Sorry… I’m sorry….” He withdrew his hands immediately, his legs were stuck to the ground, no matter how he tried to get them to move, they repelled with defiance.
Some of the crew noticed the fuss, and it only took a few minutes to spread the word.
“Zack Anderson is on set!”
“Zack Anderson is on set!”
This unexpected, dreadful surprise visit from Zack Anderson placed everyone on edge. Director Tim and Stephen, with some other important members of the crew, rushed down to the source of the commotion.
“Please… forgive… me…” George turned into a stammer, his head spinning, as he remembered he called Zack Anderson an old man.
An old man! Who would dare say that? Unfortunately for him, he was the first to say that in his presence. Zack was behind Ivy when he was spouting such nonsense.
The others who were around the area were feeling extremely uncomfortable. His intense gaze was making all of their hairs stand out, despite him not directly facing them. The atmosphere of the area was very tense, many could hardly breathe with ease. The tension was simply too much.
Zack turned to his wife. “Tell me how long he has been bothering you so I can punish him.” His eyes glazing with heat, and Ivy could feel it emitting from him.
But… Ivy was not the kind to forgive men of George’s caliber.
“Since the day of the press conference.”
George’s jaw dropped, her reply was a bomb! That was a month ago! His punishment would be equal the amount of time. “Ivy… please…” He clasped his hands, giving Ivy a pleading look.
“That’s more than a month.” Zack stroked his chin as if pondering.
George gasped, ‘He added ‘more than.’ It has only been a month for god’s sake!’ he screamed in his head.
“What will I do with you?” Zack’s eyes narrowed, sinister darkness seeping out of him and even Ivy began to shift backwards.
George gulped. His heart jumped to his stomach. His eyes began to scan the whole place in search of his personal assistant but he was nowhere to be seen.
Meanwhile, the so-called personal assistant was hiding behind the walls, too afraid to admit he was his PA. “You are on your own, George. I warned you, but you didn’t listen,” he muttered, not ready to stand beside George nor go anywhere near the hot-tempered billionaire.
“How do you want me to deal with him for you, wifey?” Zack smiled softly at Ivy.
Many began to wonder if he was the same man as moments ago. His demeanor completely changed when he spoke to Ivy.
Was this the same callous man they used to know? The one who was unfeeling toward all genders. Women captivated by his beauty didn’t have the guts to cry at his feet or confess to him.
How did Ivy pull the strings to seduce him? So many thoughts lingered in their heads.
Ivy smiled back at him, then turned to George. She could read his quivering lips sending a plea across. ‘Please…’
All eyes were fixed on her, waiting for her to decide George’s fate.
She cleared her throat, intentionally hanging George in suspense. She sneered at him and hooked her hands around Zack. “Hubby, let him off, I assure you he won’t bother me again.”
Zack shot daggers at him, he wasn’t too pleased by Ivy’s reply. He wanted to teach him a lesson for grabbing her wrist. “Don’t let it repeat itself again.” He warned emphasizing every word, and George nodded like a humble sheep.
Stephen Puff let out a sigh of relief, he was glad Ivy could control him because if not, he would have to look for George’s replacement. Then a thought crossed his mind. If the production had offended Ivy, there was only one word he could use to describe what would be the fate of the company.
Extermination.
Zack Anderson had the power and resources to destroy the production company with a click of his fingers.
When he noticed Zack had calmed down a bit, he approached him stretching his hand for a handshake. Even if Zack outright rejected it, he would be very satisfied. At least he didn’t get on his bad side.
“It’s a pleasure to be graced with your presence, Mr. Anderson.” His breath stiffened, waiting for his reaction.
Zack stared at his hand for some time before shaking it. No words of formality came, he held his wife’s waist and led her out of the set without sparing Stephen a conversation.
Only when he left did everyone heaved a sigh. The tension in the air dispersed quickly, replaced by relief.
“That was epic,” Director Tim heaved a deep breath. He glanced at George. “Whatever he did, he wouldn’t do it again. I’m going home.” He was exhausted from the hectic day and needed rest. He waved his goodbye and left the set.
George’s eyes enlivened, glinting with easiness.
“I warned you, didn’t I. You’re quite a lucky one, though,” his PA’s voice sounded from behind him. George didn’t argue, he admitted he was indeed warned. But he never expected Zack Anderson to personally pick Ivy up from the set.
Wasn’t it just a marriage of convenience?
Now, he got his answer, their marriage wasn’t as he thought.
“George, we need to talk, now.” Anna suddenly appeared out of nowhere. “NOW!”
George was confused. “Why now of all times?”
Anna stared down below and looked up, trying to conceal her emotions. “let’s end this.”
