Steven Song pursed his lips tightly and did not say anything.
Rosiley hastily gave Ying Xiaoxiao a look, asking her to resolve this problem herself.
Xiaoxiao pouted her lower lip and said slowly, “Steven Song, I don’t know what my parents told you, but it’s impossible between us. It was impossible a few years ago, let alone now. So go back and tell my parents plainly that it is impossible for us to be together.”
At this, Steven Song curled his lips in self-mockery. “Xiaoxiao, you still blame me, don’t you?”
“Blame you?” Ying Xiaoxiao raised her eyebrows in surprise and said, quite amused, “What right do you have to make me blame you? You are at best a stranger to me.”
A wounded expression flashed across Steven Song’s handsome face. He smiled bitterly. “So, it turns out that I’m only a stranger.”
They had deceived Steven Song, and now Xiaoxiao was saying this. The sight of Steven Song’s dejected, lonely expression made Rosiley feel a little sorry for him.
She let out a soft sigh. Judging from their tones, they must have known each other before. Something must have happened between them, given Xiaoxiao’s attitude.
Xiaoxiao stared at Steven Song coldly. When she had first walked into the room and seen that it was him, she had wanted to turn and go. But when she thought about the past, she felt aggrieved.
So, she had stayed and given Rosiley a call, asking her to come and help. She knew that Rosiley would bring Corey along.
As expected, she was right.
When she saw Steven Song’s wounded and downcast expression, she felt an inexplicable sense of pleasure.
since she had achieved her goal, she no longer had any reason to stay.
Ying Xiaoxiao stood up and turned back to say to Rosiley, “Rosiley, let’s go.”
“But… ” Rosiley looked at Steven Song. She thought it would be rude to just leave like that.
“Don’t worry about him,” Ying Xiaoxiao said indifferently.
Corey also stood up, his gaze falling on the man opposite. His slender brows were slightly raised. “Steven Song… ”
Steven Song heard his voice and looked up at him.
The two exchanged stares, probing and scrutinizing each other.
Corey smiled a little. “Pleased to meet you.”
Steven Song had not expected him to say this. He looked dazed and startled for a moment, but he soon recovered. He also smiled politely. “I’m very pleased to meet you, too.”
“I look forward to our next meeting.” After Corey had said this, Xiaoxiao dragged him out of the room.
Rosiley gave Steven Song an apologetic smile. She quickly got up to run after them.
After they left Qinlan Garden, Rosiley and the other two found a cafe and sat down casually to chat.
They sat by the street. It was the weekend, and throngs of people were on the street. It was a lively, bustling scene.
Rosiley withdrew her eyes from the window and her gaze fell on Ying Xiaoxiao. She frowned slightly. “Xiaoxiao, don’t you feel you were a little too much today?”
“Was I?” Ying Xiaoxiao did not seem to care. “I don’t think I was too much at all.”
“Am I right, Corey?” She turned to him, asking for his opinion.
Corey nodded his head equivocally. “I feel like it’s okay! After all, I’ve done the same thing.”
Rosiley pouted. “Your case is fundamentally different from Xiaoxiao’s. You didn’t know your blind date at all, so it didn’t matter if you ruined the date. Not the same with Xiaoxiao. She and Steven Song know each other.”
“How did you know that I know him?” Ying Xiaoxiao stared at her in surprise.
