The Final Parliament Meeting II

Wayne walked Olive to the head of the table and drew the seat for her to sit down.
“Thank you,” she said to him with a smile. He smiled back and some people were shocked. Alpha Wayne Knight could smile like that… ever?
Olive sat down gracefully with Wayne, and she flipped fallen hair from her face. She tucked one side of her hair behind her ear while she left the other side falling over her ear and slightly over her face giving her an ethereal look.
Her eyes glanced sideways at a man sitting down close to the general and coincidentally, he was staring at her with parted lips. She looked him up and down slowly and seductively with her large eyes. He got a heat wave and goosebumps immediately, making him gulp nervously before looking away.
Wayne cleared his throat and pulled on her arm. He didn’t like what she just did. She chuckled quietly and looked down.
“Good evening, everyone,” Wayne greeted with his Alpha voice. Olive loved the sound of it.
“You are late, Wayne,” Gia scolded with a deep frown on her face. She was super angry and jealous at the scene that included Wayne and Olive. How dare he bring her? Why couldn’t she just disappear already? Why couldn’t Wayne just accept her, Gia, as the well merited woman he should have by his side? Gosh! She was boiling with rage.
“Watch your tone, Lady Gia,” Jake warned with a scowl on his face. Gia scoffed unbelievably and shifted her gaze to him. But before she could say anything, Wayne began to speak.
“It is good to see everyone again. And thank you for gathering at such short notice. I have been away from the city and could not ask for a meeting sooner.”
Gia exhaled deeply and returned her gaze from Jake.
“Since you already wasted thirty minutes of our time, I would like us to go straight to the order of the day. Have you made your decision?” General Kalif asked.
“Of course I have. It didn’t even take me time to come to a firm decision that is best for the pack. But before that, allow me to introduce my beautiful female and mate. Everyone, meet Olive Roger,” he introduced. She smiled brightly at them.
“Hello, everyone. It is nice to finally meet the Parliament of Balendin Pack,” she said.
Everyone was quiet but the normal thing was just to clap in such a scenario. Gia smirked at the reaction Olive got from the Parliament. She was going to face outright rejection in the room and she would regret ever following Wayne into it in the first place. At the end of the meeting, Gia was sure that she would be leaving the room as the rightful future Luna. And she would be the one to hold Wayne’s hand.
“We are waiting for your decision, Alpha of Balendin Pack,” the Media and Public Relations Minister spoke up.
“Oh yeah. I’m thinking some of you already know my decision. I would not… be replacing my mate with Gia Kalif or anyone else as my Luna,” he stated firmly and Gia gasped as she glared at him.
“What? Are you out of your mind, Wayne? Do you know what this means to your people? Do you even care about the reputation of this pack?” she spat out.
“Yes, he does. Which is why he is going to have his ‘mate’ as his Luna,” Olive replied her.
“Oh shut up, you witch. We all know you’ve bewitched our Alpha. He used to care about us more than anything else!” Gia retorted.
“He does. Which is why he is not having a woman like you as a leader and an example to his people,” Olive said.
“A woman like me? Are you saying you are better than I am? For your information, I am one of the prestigious women of the entire pack. Right from my childhood I have made a name for myself. But what exactly are you and what have you done?”
Olive was silent as she stared at Gia.
“We told you we would do something if you turned down our request,” General Kalif spoke up.
“Yes. You said you would give out information concerning my mate,” Wayne replied.
“You are right. And we would start first by saying it here. Your mate, a member and assassin of the Vrek Cult can never and would never rule our pack,” he stated and the people echoed a yes.
Gia smirked sinisterly and was expecting Olive to look surprised and shocked that her secret was out, but she looked calm and indifferent.
“Is that it?” Olive asked.
“That is the reason I cannot rule alongside a man who has murdered, stolen and destroyed lives and property ever since he became Alpha of this pack?” Olive added.
“Ouch,” Wayne drawled and Olive looked at him with a smile.
“I’m sorry, baby. I just had to clarify that,” she said.
“It’s fine. I would not deny that I am all that,” he replied.
“That is your point of view. But it isn’t what the pack would see it as,” General Kalif stated.
“Do you know that Olive was kidnapped at age fourteen and initiated forcefully into that cult. She lost all her memories of her family and background. And only got liberated after I found her and accepted her,” Wayne explained and everyone stayed quiet.
“Secondly, what makes you think the pack would reject who I already accepted fully? And who they already love?”
“Already love? Oh please, wait until the news is out in the pack. In fact, our Media and Public Relations Minister is ready to upload all her information on the internet right now,” Gia said and pointed towards the Minister who was holding a B-Screen tablet in his hand.
“No need. The news is already out,” Olive spoke up.
“What?”
“Check your phone. The news of her past is out, pictures and videos of my bond with my mate is out. And the reactions we are getting is quite… positive,” Wayne said firmly and smirked. The officials began to bring out their phones and check it. Their mouths began to fall open. The worst face was that of Gia’s.
After letting them go through as much posts as possible, Olive lifted the file that Jake just handed to her.
“And right here, is a news that you wouldn’t want to get out into the pack, Lady Gia Kalif,” she drawled and Gia’s eyes latched onto the file, wondering what it was.
