“Alright…”
Harold finally sensed a hint of something unusual. He glanced at Rosalind and then at Ulric. “You two?”
“I work for his company,” Rosalind interjected before Ulric could say anything.
“Oh, I see!” Harold seemed relieved and looked at Rosalind with a newfound boldness.
She had always been beautiful.
Even in middle school, despite dressing plainly and wearing a fraying hair tie, Rosalind’s delicate features were undeniable.
Now, dressed impeccably with her long hair flowing over her shoulders, her bright yet innocent eyes, and her petite nose, she resembled a model for a cosmetic surgery clinic.
As Harold appeared on the verge of saying something else, Ulric discreetly pulled Rosalind back a step.
“We’ll catch up another time. We have some things to attend to today.”
“Ah, I understand! Go ahead and take care of your business. We’ll chat at the gathering.”
Sensing Ulric’s polite detachment, Harold, being a perceptive man, didn’t insist on adding Rosalind to WhatsApp right away.
He assumed he could add her to the group chat during the gathering.
Ulric led Rosalind into a private room where several dishes had already been served.
Cedric had reserved the main seat for the boss and left the adjacent seat empty.
With no other choice, Rosalind naturally took the seat next to Ulric.
“Mr. Walters, regarding our subsidiary’s acquisition of Celestial Group’s 300 million in bad assets, we’ve decided to target Celestial Dairy for debt-to-equity conversion. The contract has been handed over to Lawyer Garner,” Cedric reported, taking advantage of the opportunity to update Ulric due to his busy schedule.
“Yes, she knows how to protect the company’s interests,” Ulric responded in a low voice.
His confident tone and casual demeanor demonstrated his trust in Sirena.
Rosalind glanced at his profile, feeling an indescribable sensation.
The level of understanding between him and Sirena meant he didn’t need to remind her of anything, despite his usual cautiousness.
Ulric suddenly looked up, and Rosalind averted her gaze, picking up her chopsticks. She scanned the dishes on the table but had no appetite, not feeling inclined to eat any of them. Eventually, she chose a piece of green vegetable and chewed it slowly.
“After signing the ‘Debt Restructuring Agreement,’ we will hold 23% of Celestial Group’s shares. Once I return to Northville City, I’ll finalize the specific repayment methods and amounts with them.”
“Interest rate set at 6%?”
Cedric nodded. “Naturally, they want it as low as possible, but 6% is our bottom line.”
“Good job.”
In truth, Ulric’s bottom line was 5%. The additional percentage depended entirely on Cedric’s negotiation skills.
Cedric had never disappointed W Group.
After finishing the meal, Rosalind returned to the hotel and immediately began refining Malcolm’s project submission. She only stopped when Ulric returned from his meeting and entered the living room.
“By the way, you haven’t added me to the class group chat yet.”
She suddenly remembered, thinking Ulric had forgotten.
He paused while unbuttoning his shirt. “Why do you want to join?”
“…”
“You have admirers everywhere.” He leisurely changed into his robe and approached her. “You don’t need Harold, he’s not worthy.”
As her love rival, Harold was far from being qualified.
