“Of course,” replied Rosalind eagerly, her excitement evident. “Group Three faced challenges with Hanyang this year, which greatly impacts our year-end bonuses. However, it’s also an opportunity, I want to seize.”
If she could successfully conclude the Huayi project now and save Group Three from trouble, Mr. Chan would be delighted and value her more than ever!
Ulric looked up at her, his lips parting slightly after a pause. “The head office is planning to transfer a few individuals from Prosperity Holdings for financial training.”
“Can I be included?”
Rosalind asked almost immediately.
“Yes, if you behave, I’ll consider it.”
“Mr. Walters, of course, I’ll follow your instructions!”
Did he even need to say that? Even without this matter, as an assistant, she had to listen to the president.
“I remember telling you not to call me Mr. Walters at home.”
She was taken aback.
He raised an eyebrow.
After a long pause, Rosalind awkwardly pinched her leg and whispered almost inaudibly, “Ulric…”
Ulric’s wish was granted, his eyebrows relaxed as he pulled out his chair and stood up. “Go pack your things. I’ll have the secretary inform Mr. Chan. After the training, you’ll soon learn how to handle the Huayi issue.”
With that, he briskly walked back to the master bedroom to change clothes and prepare for work.
Rosalind watched his tall figure from behind, deep in thought.
Calling him “Ulric” made him so happy?
…
The issue with the Huayi representative hadn’t escalated, so it remained unknown within the company for now.
This brought a sense of relief to Rosalind.
She didn’t want to relive the experience or retell the story to anyone, then force a smile while accepting their well-intentioned yet awkward comfort.
After the morning meeting, Tilda hurried to Rosalind’s office. “How did it go? Was the discussion with Huayi smooth?”
“The person in charge encountered some issues, it’s currently on hold.”
“Why are you having such bad luck lately!” Tilda patted her shoulder. “How about we visit a nearby church this weekend and pray for blessings?”
Rosalind pondered for a moment and nodded. “Sure.”
Even though she didn’t believe in God, her mother’s surgery was imminent. She thought it couldn’t hurt and might provide some psychological comfort.
As they conversed, Mr. Chan entered with a peculiar expression on his face. “Rosalind, when did you sign up for training at the head office? The announcement was posted on the website just after 7 AM this morning, and I received the approval notice by 8:30!”
“I saw it while having breakfast and decided to apply.” Rosalind didn’t expect Ulric to act so promptly.
He could have at least waited a day or two before approving her application, now it appears suspicious!
“I don’t know what selection process the head office uses, but since they chose you, get ready to go.” Mr. Chan didn’t want to say another word to Rosalind and left immediately after delivering that statement.
Tilda made a face at his retreating figure and then proudly shook her head. “See, we haven’t even gone yet, and God has already answered our prayers!”
Rosalind suddenly felt the urge to laugh.
This wasn’t the work of any deity, it was clearly Ulric’s doing.
…
Meanwhile, in the president’s office.
Ulric, who had just finished a meeting, sat in his chair, massaging his temples.
A large stack of data reports lay before him, each requiring his personal review.
At that moment, Johnny knocked on the door with a mischievous grin.
“Tsk tsk, Mr. Walters! If you wanted to transfer that assistant to your side, couldn’t you have simply said so? Why bother organizing a selection process on the W Group’s website?”
When he saw that announcement on his computer, he almost burst out laughing!
“Let me guess… You probably had some fun and are still in high spirits, so you desire some adult excitement on this big office desk with your assistant?”
