Aria quietly locked the door of his VIP lounge and took off the burqa, slowly. His eyes raked over her well-structured form as his tongue peeked out to swipe across his bottom lip.
Aria cringed internally in disgust but that didn’t let her seductive facade fall.
“What’s that for?” he asked, sitting up straighter now and pointing towards the discarded dark piece of cloth.
Aria walked up to him towards the couch and settled beside him in her now little red sequin dress now fully visible.
She leaned towards his ear as he instantly leaned towards her “To add a little mystery” she whispered and licked his earlobe in the process.
His whole body visibly shivered as she continued “I do not like showing my face to everyone. I only show to the ones I trust”
She added while playing with his tie as his smirk widened. Being the idiot he was, he believed her and completely forgot that she was standing in the event without her little protection earlier.
“Smart girl, I like it” he whispered bringing his lips close to her neck as she squeezed her eyes shut and pressed the rage back inside her, and took a deep breath to endure it.
“What is your name?” Salvador asked while twirling a strand of her blonde hair and sniffing it creepily.
Aria had changed almost everything about her. She would wear contacts on a regular basis to avoid seeing her mother’s reflection every time she looked in the mirror.
She had changed her hair color when she saw Salvador’s each and every previous girlfriends were blonde.
Needless to say, he had a type.
“Ari-” she caught herself before she could finish. Fuck, she had all the time to plan everything but a fake name never came to her mind. What if he still remembers her mother’s original name and started suspecting her?
“Ariana Langdon”
She was pretty proud of herself for coming up with a believable fake name on the spot and for not becoming a stuttering fool.
Salvador’s hand landed on her thigh as she bit her inner lip and felt a bile rise up her throat at the disgusting.
“I’m Salvador Paulo” he spoke with a cocky grin.
I know.
Aria’s footsteps echoed inside the main mansion of the Spanish mafia, her eyes scanning around the vast expanse and the patio swing hanging lonely in the backyard.
It had been almost a year since she got together with Salvador. She couldn’t kill him all this time as he would always have guards standing outside their meeting spot.
He would never even sleep in and would always slip away before the night got darker.
Yes, Aria had underestimated his intellect. He was quite careful around everyone and the rumors had turned out to be a little exaggerated about his incompetence.
Meanwhile, Aria had been successful in stringing him along. Even though she wouldn’t let him go past kissing; he had been quite attached to her.
She knew he had a lot of side pieces but she could care less about it and decided to act oblivious about it.
After almost a year of dating him, did he trust her enough to bring her to the main mansion. It was quite an achievement because from what she had heard, none of his previous girlfriends or the girls in the side had ever made it this far.
Maybe he would lay his guard down and stop bringing bodyguards when they are alone so she could kill him peacefully and disappear from this place.
On the other hand, Kahlil was one step ahead of her. He had already infiltrated the mansion and worked in the security department of the mafia.
Ironic.
He knew the mansion like the back of his hand and a few secret routes, especially in Salvador Paulo’s bedroom for easy access in times of need.
“Come on babe, let’s introduce you to my brother”
Salvador said as he placed a hand on her lower back, walking her along the stoned pathway that led inside the main mansion.
Aria gave him a fake smile and squeezed his upper arm in appreciation. It was the moment she had been dreading for the past year, meeting his older brother, Silverio Paulo.
She had heard that he was smarter than his younger brother and could possibly see through her facade. But she felt a little confident under her burqa, she knew Salvador wouldn’t let anyone see her face under it.
She had Salvador wrapped around her little finger, even his closest bodyguards didn’t know what she looked like.
“Please wait here” A bodyguard stopped them from going inside Silverio’s safe haven as both Aria and Salvador’s steps halted.
“I don’t think he’d like me,” Aria said with fake concern as her gaze followed the bodyguard’s huge frame disappearing into the dark room, possibly to let his boss know about their presence.
Salvador’s hand squeezed her waist and Aria bit her lower lip to suppress the cry of pain. He was deliberately pressing on her bruise which he had graciously put on her. Him being wrapped around her finger didn’t mean that he wouldn’t raise his hands on her.
He used every opportunity to, put her in her place, as he would say. Aria kept quiet and endured it, vowing in her heart to make him pay for all of it.
“Baby, it’ll be ok” he hummed, kissing the top of her clothed face “My brother can be a little tough but he’ll love you.”
Aria nodded.
“You, on the other hand” he started again as she raised her head to look at him “Keep your mouth shut and don’t let him see your face”
She smirked. His possessiveness had really come in handy. She didn’t have to request him to not show her face, he ordered her not to do it.
“Fucking dick,” she thought mentally as she pretended to kiss his biceps “My Baby”
He smiled like a fool at the little affection as Aria almost gagged at the scent of cheap women perfume coming from him.
The bodyguard walked out of the room making Aria alert as he nodded at Salvador.
Salvador let out an exaggerated sigh while taking out a small vodka bottle and downed it before throwing it at the bodyguard who struggled to catch it.
Salvador dragged Aria inside the room as she broke down in cold sweat and looked in front of her. Her heart stopped at the sight as her eyes widened behind the cloth covering her face.
A man sat on a chair, with dark dangerous eyes short curly hair, and a scar running down the left side of his face. But that wasn’t what surprised her, it was the bloodied and battered person his leg was resting on.
Kahlil was lying on the ground almost unconscious as he barely breathed.
“Brother!” Salvador yelled in frustration “I told you I was bringing my girlfriend today. Couldn’t you do this some other time? Who is this anyway?”
Salvador’s gaze ran down Kahlil’s battered form in disgust as Aria’s heart thumped in the fear of getting caught.
“Ariana Langdon” Silverio whispered her fake name she had given to Salvador, as all her guards went up and she stared right at him “Take that off”
He grumbled, annoyed by the fact that her whole frame including her face was hidden. When Aria didn’t move his feet crushed Kahlil’s head as blood splattered out from his mouth.
Aria closed her eyes and let out a deep breath. He doesn’t know. He doesn’t know. No, he doesn’t know.
“No brother” Salvador disagreed while shaking his head “She won’t do that”
Silverio’s head tilted as cold silence settled in.
“You know what’s weird?” Silverio commented suddenly as Aria found it hard to breathe with her nerves all over the place. She didn’t want to die before killing them.
“You told me you wanted me to meet your girlfriend about a week ago and just around that time I found this-” he crushed his foot on Kahlil’s back as Kahlil groaned in pain “-this fly tried to snoop up the security in this mansion”
“Isn’t he one of your men?” Salvador asked as Silverio nodded. “So what’s it to us?” Salvador was rude to his brother, the head of the Spanish mafia, but that’s what they got for spoiling their prince.
“It doesn’t exactly have anything to do with you” Silverio’s eyes swam back to Aria’s form “I just thought it was a funny coincidence”
“Oh my God! Are you hearing yourself right now? My girlfriend is innocent” Salvador tried to defend but it was too late, Silverio already had his doubts rooted at Aria.
“I won’t trust someone who doesn’t even show her face-” Silverio said with disgust as he noticed her quietly standing till now “- is she mute?”
“No she is not” Salvador rolled his eyes as his hands wrapped around her shoulder to pull her closer “She doesn’t need to speak unless it’s necessary”
Silverio let out a mocking whistle as he kicked an almost unconscious Kahlil “Someone is possessive”
Salvador let out a frustrated groan. Dealing with his older brother has always been tiring “Brother look, I only brought her to meet you because from now on she will be living here with me”
At this, Aria’s head snapped up at him in shock. It was news to her too, he hadn’t asked her before but she wasn’t complaining. Living here could bring a lot of opportunities; the closer you are to the enemy, the better.
Suddenly the careless smile on Silverio’s face vanished, replaced by a steely look that sent shivers down her spine.
