“Cooking isn’t exactly your strong suit,” I said sarcastically, though I was nearly devouring the spaghetti dish. I have no idea what’s in this sauce, but it’s exquisite.
“Yes, it’s evident by the way I can practically see your tongue licking the plate.”
He’s at the foot of the bed and I’m at the head. The only thing covering me is his blue sheet. He’s been watching it ever since he sat down to eat. As if he wanted to rip it off and expose my breasts.
As soon as that thought crossed my mind, he got up and grabbed the shirt he was wearing a few hours ago. He tossed it to me.
“Put it on before I die,” he waited for me to put it on.
I laughed and gave him a cheeky smile. I moved the plate aside, dropped the sheets, and put on the shirt. He watched the whole process, especially when I took off the sheets.
His face turned red and he let out a stifled moan.
“Damn it. I’m going to the bathroom. I’ll be back in five minutes.” He went straight to the bathroom without looking at me and closed the door. I started laughing uncontrollably. Honestly, I love that he always desires me, just like I desire him.
My phone started ringing in my bag.
I answered, hoping it would be Eva. I couldn’t wait to tell her that we’d done it. I still can’t believe it myself. I’m so happy that my first time was with Nick. It’s so unreal to me.
“Hello?”
“Samantha?”
That male voice sounded familiar. I took the phone away from my ear and looked at the screen. The number was unknown.
“Who is this?” I asked, now instead of a smile I have a grimace and a frown.
“The guy from the party, the one you kissed? I hope you didn’t kiss many, that would hurt my feelings.”
I quickly got out of bed, disregarding the pain I was still feeling. I went to the kitchen and sat on the sofa to prevent Nick from hearing me.
“How did you get my number?” I whispered. My heart rate started to increase.
“I have my contacts.”
“Who are you?”
“Didn’t you see me at the party?”
“It was all dark.”
“Well, sweetheart, I’m Jackson.”
Jackson? The same Jackson who pinned me against the wall and hit me in the hospital bathroom. That scum touched my lips with his?
I felt all the spaghetti churn in my stomach and come back up my throat. I want to throw up. In fact, I stood up and did it in the sink.
“Samantha!” Nick ran to me and held my hair again. I’m going to lose several pounds if I keep vomiting so much. “What’s wrong?”
“Jackson, he’s on the phone. I don’t know how he got my number.”
I wiped my mouth and left my phone on the counter. Nick didn’t hesitate to take it. It seemed like Jackson was still on the line because he put the phone to his ear.
“Listen, you piece of shit. I told you to stay away from her. When I see you, I’m going to break your face.” He hung up and threw the phone on the couch. He put both hands in his hair and looked like he wanted to scream.
I put my hand on his shoulder. He turned around and picked me up. I wrapped my legs around his waist and my two arms went to his neck. We stayed there hugging. His face was in my neck.
“What did he say?” He murmured against my hair.
I stayed silent for a few seconds. Is it worth telling him? He would go crazy. But he would understand, right? He knows I only love him and that kiss was an accident, a mistake.
He knows. He’ll understand…
“He just…” Tell the truth, Samantha. “He called to bother.”

“Did you do it?!” Eva shouted, all smiles and jumping around so that half the campus could hear her; in fact, several nosy people turned around and laughed at us.
I covered her mouth. “No need for the whole world to know.”
She made an apologetic face and started smiling again. If I didn’t know her well, I’d say she’s crazy… Actually, I know her well enough to say she’s crazy.
“How was it? How is he? How long did it last? How did you feel? I need to know everything!”
“It was… amazing. Somehow, at that moment, I felt complete.” I could feel my cheeks burning. My smile reached my eyes.
“You didn’t answer how he is and how long it lasted,” she asked, squinting her eyes.
I gestured for her to come closer, and she did. I whispered in her ear…
“You’ll never know.” I gave her a smug smile and moved away from her.
She huffed and gave me a small shove with her shoulder.
“At least tell me when it happened.”
“In the early hours of Saturday… when we returned from the party.”
I was begging her not to say or ask anything about what happened at the party, neither about the kiss with Cady nor about our fight.
“You couldn’t have called me on Sunday to tell me?! As soon as you were done with him, you could have sent me a message saying ‘the cat is in the bag’ or something!”
“Um, that’s not how the phrase goes…”
“It doesn’t matter!” she interrupted as we got to our class. “You could have said anything! I relate everything to something perverse.”
“Yeah, I know,” I rolled my eyes and sat in my seat.
“And where is our man? Because I haven’t seen him glued to your side since you arrived, and it’s quite strange that he’s not keeping an eye on you.”
“He doesn’t have class until two hours from now… Plus, we’re not on very good terms,” I murmured more to myself than to her.
“What?! You gave your first time to the guy and he’s not happy? God, sometimes I want to kill him,” she said through grit teeth.
