“There’s no need for me to fight with an imposter. There are different approaches I can use to solve this, and I picked one.” Ivy shrugged. Any irrational decision could backfire, and she knew Irene wouldn’t want to be at the shorter end of the stick.
“Then I won’t get involved, after all, she’s your sister.” Zack already dealt with his nephew. It was Ivy’s turn to resolve the problem she had with her sister. But how Ivy plans on resolving the problem was totally different from what many would expect.
Ivy and Susan agreed to meet up at the villa the next day to discuss further plans and how to deal with the current situation at hand. Ivy sent her driver Louis to pick her up at the entrance of the estate.
As she arrived, she couldn’t stop her eyes from wandering at her appealing surroundings.
“The smell of wealth.” As she sat comfortably on the sofa, her eyes caught Ivy descending from the stairs wearing a chiffon dress with her hair tied up in a ponytail. At the first glance of her, Susan’s mind drifted to her replica that was winding her tails.
“I did some investigations but couldn’t find anything of use against her.”
“Then stop investigating…”
Susan turned speechless. Why isn’t she bothered when her advancement is might be on the line? She couldn’t understand her artist anymore. Worst of all, she doesn’t seem irked that her role was stolen.
“Ivy, aren’t you worried she might successfully take your place and you will have to start over under her shadow?”
Ivy sat beside her and picked the two scripts Susan brought along with her.
Susan sighed. “Or perhaps you want to take legal actions by pressing charges against her.”
“Susan, I won’t waste my resources or energy on her; let’s focus on something more important.”
Since Ivy wasn’t worried, she rested her case. She trusted her judgement, though, but it seems there was something more to it. Maybe that was the reason why she wasn’t too bothered.
“Ivy, is there something you aren’t telling me? Because if I were you, I would be mad.”
Ivy dropped the scripts she was holding. Susan was too inquisitive, and if she didn’t tell her soon, she would continue to nag her nonstop.
“If I tell you more of the things you can’t see from the surface, how would you react?”
Susan scrunched her face, puzzled. “Stop keeping me in the dark; spill the beans.”
“She is my sister.” She finally told her. At first, she decided to keep it a secret, as it was too ignominious for families to be fighting among themselves.
“So you have a twin.” Susan raised her eyebrow; Ivy never told anything about her family.
Ivy chuckled, “twin.” “She is my elder sister, and our resemblance is not up to that degree. She is under a guise.”
“Oh, that’s…
“So when is the audition?” Ivy changed the topic. Dwelling on it won’t change the fact that Irene already made her move, so it was her time to make hers.
“First, choose the one you like; they both have interesting storylines and are bound to be a hit.” Ivy did a quick skim, and her eyes landed on the one of interest.
“This one.”
Susan was surprised by the script that captured her interest. The genre was entirely different from other films she has acted before. “Are you sure about this?”
“What, you think I can’t handle it?”
Though she brought both scripts for her to choose from, she never expected her to pick the action genre. “There are lots of fight scenes in this film.”
“I chose it for a reason.”
‘What is she trying to achieve?’ Susan thought. “Does it have something to do with… oh…”
Susan understood Ivy wanted to prove who the real Ivy Hale was without giving any statement to the media or finding evidence to expose her sister’s scheme. She wanted to take advantage of how the film industry views her. There was a time she was tagged as a chameleon actress, and that was the main reason she was awarded for her outstanding performance five years ago. That particular year she featured in three films of different genres, and she was praised by the media and fans for her acting skills and dedication. She completely immersed herself in the role, adapting to the needs of the story that showed her versatility in acting. No matter how many classes Irene takes, she was still a newbie in the film industry.
“You have two weeks to the audition,” Susan finally answered her first question.
“Great.”
Finding a martial arts instructor wasn’t difficult, and she began taking lessons. Because of the time limit, her martial arts instructor taught her some key moves that would benefit her. Whenever she was free, she would practice on her own and also study the script.
‘Tomboy Donna’ was an action film that portrayed the protagonist as a tomboy who was actually a spy in disguise. The setting of the story was in a high school, Donna blended in as a teenager even though she was actually in her mid-20s. Because of her small stature and innocent face with skills to back it up, she was chosen by the secret organization to investigate, as they suspected a terrorist was present in the school with ulterior motives. Through her journey, gathering information proved really difficult, but when she finally pieced things together, she was shocked to find out it was someone she never thought would be able to hurt a fly, her only friend in the school, and she became a formidable opponent and she struggled to force herself to kill her only friend for the greater good.
She smiled at the storyline; it was the perfect script she wanted to use to prove herself. It was challenging, though. There were many fight scenes in the film, especially when Donna hadn’t discovered the real terrorist as she secretly continued to protect the school from harm all by herself, as her organization had their own troubles to deal with.
Two days to the audition, she had one more sparring session with her martial arts instructor, and he was amazed by how quickly she could adapt to the harsh training. With one glance at her, one would think she wouldn’t be able to handle the training, let alone be able to catch up so fast. The man was tempted to ask her to be his disciple just like those at the Shaolin Monastery. She was simply too agile and flexible.
After the lesson ended, she practiced the scenes a few more times before she rested ahead of time for the audition. She usually does this to not tire herself too much before the big day.
Meanwhile, Irene was preparing to film ‘Wedding Catastrophe’ with the media in her tails, secretly investigating who the real imposter was. Of course, she predicted Ivy’s response at the press conference, and she was ready to turn things around.
