Nelson looked at her through the smoke. “Today, he delivered documents to me. The information inside had been replaced. Did you know about this?”
Callie shook her head. “I did see him deliver the documents to you, but I didn’t know what they were. At first, I didn’t even know he was coming to see you.”
Nelson nodded and smirked. “Jaquan’s move caught me off guard.”
Callie was equally shocked. She hadn’t expected Jaquan, who seemed so carefree on the surface, to have such cunning and strategy behind the scenes.
“Where is he? Aren’t you afraid he’ll come in?” she asked, knowing this was his lounge. Nelson acted as if he were at home.
“He’s gone abroad. He should be on his way to the airport now.”
Nelson’s casual remark surprised Callie. She could guess that he wouldn’t let himself suffer such a loss without retaliation.
Nelson stubbed out his cigarette. “He’s gone. Your support is gone. Are you disappointed?”
Callie clenched her fists. “I never thought of him as my support.”
Nelson remained unmoved, breathing heavily. Suddenly, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms. “You lie so well. Which of your words are true?”
Callie couldn’t move, her hair disheveled against his arm, the strands soft and teasing his heart.
“Everything I’ve said to you is true.”
He pressed harder on her waist, flipping her over and pinning her in the corner of the sofa, their hips colliding.
Callie struggled to adjust but was pinned again. His chin rested on her shoulder, his breath warm against her ear.
“In front of Jaquan today, you were quite the charmer.”
Feeling insulted, Callie struggled to retort. “Mr. Oconnor, your acting is just as good. Since you’ve already given me up, why chase me to Scott Group?”
If he hadn’t come, she would have a miserable end.
His cold lips touched her soft cheek, moving down as he spoke. “You’re quite skilled, making me break my principles and try to take back my words.”
Callie’s body was burning up, forced to tilt her head back, inhaling his clean scent. “Nelson…”
His hand moved up from her waist, and for a moment Callie’s mind went blank as she heard him say, “You better always be this capable.”
The immense pressure enveloped her. A slight turn of her head would bring her lips to his.
Nelson seemed to have been suppressing himself for a long time, his body trembling like a raging fire.
“I suddenly wonder if you would fall for this if I weren’t capable.” Callie boldly straddled his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissed him.
Instantly, Nelson’s body stiffened even more.
“It seems you would.” Callie nibbled at his lips, gradually deepening the kiss and getting carried away. “Nelson, your mouth is soft. No matter how hard your words are, your mouth is soft. I’ve tasted it.”
A vein throbbed on his forehead as he looked at her with eyes full of desire.
In an instant, he tightened his grip on her waist, opened his mouth to respond, kissing her harder, deeper, and more forcefully.
“You’ve got some nerve.” He tasted the wine in her mouth, and soon, his tobacco flavor dominated, erasing all traces of alcohol from Callie, leaving only Nelson’s mark.
After about three minutes of heavy breathing and escalating passion, Callie felt him losing control. She grabbed his hand as he tried to unbutton her clothes. “Not here.”
