Nelson pulled out a towel to dry his hands. “Stop talking nonsense and get dressed.”
At that moment, he stood against the light, his features seemingly gilded with a golden edge. Water still clung to his body, and a black tie covered his eyes, giving him an air of restrained wildness.
Callie lay on the edge of the bathtub, taking advantage of the fact that he hadn’t removed the tie to unabashedly observe him.
What would it feel like to make someone so restrained fall? Just the thought quickened the pulse in her wrist.
“Callie?” He frowned when he didn’t hear a response.
“Here.” Callie stepped out of the bathtub, water rippling. She dried herself with a towel and struggled to put on her nightgown. She had trouble fastening the back buttons with one hand.
She looked up with a deliberately seductive tone in her voice. “Nelson, I can’t fasten my buttons.”
He blurted out, “What buttons…”
The next second, Callie was in front of him, guiding his large, veined hand to her smooth, white shoulder, sliding it down slowly. “The buttons on my nightgown. What did you think?”
The man’s breath tightened instantly, his palm turning cold. He hesitated. “How can I fasten them with my eyes covered? I’ll call Bianca.”
Callie quickly grabbed his hand. “No need. We’ve already bathed together. Isn’t it obvious if you call someone else just to fasten buttons?”
Nelson said nothing, the scent of her perfume filling his nostrils.
“I’m not in a hurry. Take your time.” Callie turned her back to him, her silhouette shifting tantalizingly close and far. She smiled playfully, eager to see Nelson lose his restraint.
He had never dressed a woman before and had no idea how the back buttons were designed. He fumbled awkwardly, occasionally touching her soft back. Callie moaned seductively, “Left side, right side, a bit more to the right. Nelson, why can’t you get it right?”
She had some nerve.
“Callie, don’t push your luck.” His voice was already hoarse, deliberately restrained.
But she dared to continue. She turned around, boldly challenging him. “Why can’t you get it right? Maybe you should take off the tie.”
Nelson’s temple throbbed. He pursed his thin lips and removed the tie, his eyes anything but innocent.
Caught red-handed, Callie jumped back, clutching her clothes. “You! You actually took it off.”
Nelson’s initial anger dissipated at her reaction. Holding the tie, he stepped forward.
“What are you doing? I’ll call for help!”
He moved behind her and fastened the buttons on her nightgown that had remained undone. Instead of leaving immediately, he leaned down to whisper in her ear, “With such little courage, you dare to seduce someone? Maybe you should visit Club Paradise and learn from Bridger. He’s quite skilled at training women.”
His breath tickled her earlobe, making Callie shiver and blush. “I was just joking…”
She wore only a thin nightgown; her neck and skin were exposed to his gaze. Her wet hair dripped water onto the floor, exuding an indescribable allure.
Nelson’s eyes reddened slightly. He reached out and placed a hand on her abdomen, pulling her close. The unprecedented intimacy between them rapidly intensified.
She trembled. Nelson chuckled hoarsely and lowered his head slightly to see her cleavage. “Scared?”
The masculine presence was overwhelming. Callie realized she couldn’t handle it and wanted to say she wasn’t scared but couldn’t get the words out.
