Callie stopped Bianca, “There’s no rush. I want some hot water. Could you boil a pot for me?”
Bianca seemed to understand partially, “Alright, wait here.”
While waiting for the water to boil, the two stood in the kitchen, exchanging awkward glances. Seeing Callie sweating profusely, Bianca quickly said, “The kitchen is too hot. Go wait outside.”
“It’s fine, really. I haven’t seen you in a long time and want to chat,” Callie waved her hand. “How’s Grandpa’s health recently?”
“He’s doing well, don’t worry.”
“That’s good… that’s good…”
When the water was hot, Bianca swiftly poured a cup. “Drink it slowly. I still need to go out and buy ingredients. Wait here, Bianca promises you’ll have a good meal tonight.”
Callie was at a loss and frantically gestured to Nelson in the living room for help.
Nelson walked over leisurely and blocked the kitchen door. “It’s scorching outside. You can go tomorrow. Don’t be biased; I haven’t had your ginger milk in ages. Can I have some today?”
Hearing the specific request, Bianca was stunned for a moment, carefully observing Nelson’s expression. She stammered, “I… I can make it now.”
Seeing that the situation was under control, Callie quickly added, “Then I’ll learn from you.”
While Bianca busied herself in the kitchen, the upstairs moving was almost done. Callie no longer felt rushed and quietly slipped out to sit beside Nelson. She whispered, “Why did Bianca get so excited when you asked for ginger milk?”
Nelson was typing an email on his laptop and didn’t look up. “I haven’t had it in many years.”
“Why?” she asked instinctively.
Nelson didn’t answer immediately. She realized there might be a story behind it and fell silent awkwardly. Just when she thought he wouldn’t respond, his voice came, “I stopped eating it after my mother passed away.”
Callie froze. She had suspected that Nelson’s mother was no longer around but didn’t expect it to be true.
She cautiously observed his tense profile and apologized, “I’m sorry… my condolences.”
Nelson’s fingers paused on the keyboard, and he smirked coldly, “It’s fine.”
From then on, Bianca took care of everything at Paucaster Villa Complex personally, especially matters like Callie’s medication and dressing wounds. She was sent by Grandpa, and no one dared to stop her.
In the master bedroom, the servants tidied up everything neatly, making it seem like the two were really living together.
Bianca prepared the bath in the bathroom. “Callie, go in and wash.”
Callie nodded, and Nancy followed suit but was stopped by Bianca. “What are you doing in there, Nancy?”
“Helping me bathe.”
“I’ll help Madam bathe.”
They both spoke simultaneously.
“What are you helping her bathe for?” Bianca looked disgusted. “Such private matters should be handled by Nelson.”
Nelson raised an eyebrow while Callie looked as if she were facing death. “This… this… it’s still inconvenient.”
Bianca teased, “Young couples shouldn’t be shy; it’s normal.”
With that, she waved everyone else out. “Everyone out! How can a wife be in trouble and her husband not help with bathing?”
“Hey! Nancy! Don’t leave!” Callie shouted in despair.
Bianca thoughtfully closed the door, leaving the two staring at each other awkwardly.
Callie’s face turned red as she sat down in resignation. “I’m not bathing.”
She had never hated the perpetrator more. If he hadn’t hit her, she wouldn’t be reduced to needing Nelson’s help to bathe. Where was her dignity?
Nelson crossed his arms and looked at the embarrassed woman up and down. “What are you nervous about?”
