Callie woke up early this morning.
She has got psyched up that Nelson would not come back, so she has to go to the Oconnor Group by herself. Her idea is straightforward that she won’t be caught by Joaquin as long as she woke up earlier than him.
It was impossible for her to stay awake at night worrying about him.
The early morning station was empty. Callie clasped her bag, remaining vigilant in case Joaquin came out of nowhere and killed her.
She then realized how much security Nelson offered to her in recent time.
But now, she had no way but to get the wind up.
Callie scorned herself in mind that she shouldn’t have relied too heavily on a man.
Fortunately, she arrived at Oconnor Group safely. When she put her bag down, Litzy came up to asked vaguely, “You looks bad. Did your husband…”
Callie chuckled, “Stop imagining.”
“Oops, does he have an unmentionable disease? Callie, listen to me. There are a lot of man. You are still young and pretty. You don’t have to believe in the so-called love but sacrifice your happiness.”
What an “inspiration”. Callie turned on her computer, feeling weary, but then began to draw up the cover design, “I understand but it is complicating.”
At least, she was unable to offend Nelson now.
As Litzy was about to go on, Skye arrived in the office. She was in a sheath dress today with a bag, showing her graceful figure. When she passed Callie’s desk, she stopped and asked in an incredible voice, “Callie, I heard that you got the IP?”
Callie made a gesture, spreading out her hands and responding provokingly, “Piece of cake.”
Skye stared at design draft, which is halfway done, but she just nodded to say, clenching her teeth, “Good job.”
Skye shut the door violently. Litzy couldn’t help laughing which made her almost fall to the ground. And Callie felt better because of it.
Unlucky in love, lucky at work.
Actually, it was not about love between her and Nelson.
For several days, Nelson didn’t come back to Paucaster Villa Complex, and Callie didn’t go to the top floor to ask for a hard time.
Sometimes, Callie could see him take the private lift. As usual, he stood straight with a poker face. There was a group of people behind him, and Cora reported work beside him, while he offers some opinions with a few words from time to time.
It was all about businesses for more than hundred million dollars.
Callie withdrew her eyes from him and got into a public lift.
Nelson felt something but when he turned back, there was no one in his sight.
Callie spent all her time on the cover design, and Devon was very satisfied with final work, “Miss Marsh, you are the right person for the project.”
She blended the IP and her individual style perfectly. Once the product appears on the market, the cover would be absolutely eye-catching.
“After we audit the contract, the payment will be remitted to you in full. By the way, may I take you out for a dinner as thanks?”
Callie replied over the phone, with a faint smile, “It’s my job.”
“It is not about the job.”
Callie paused for a while and said, “Okay. But I would like you to drive me home after the dinner.”
Devon promised it delightfully.
He chooses a restaurant by sea. The sights at dusk are beautiful.
After taking order, Callie said with a smile, “The design opinions you offered also contained the elements of sea. Mr. Fletcher seemed to have a special preference to sea.”
Devon was a middle-aged man with charisma. He shook his head with a wry smile, “I’m not the one. It’s she, you know.”
It turned out that he had not got over.
