After a long while, Callie then said, “Violet, I feel really sorry to you. Anyhow, I rubbed your nose for my performance. Really sorry about that.”
There were chuckle and sound of sea breeze over the phone. Violet said, “I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t have a chance to see him again but for you. You are a good girl, and I believe that you can design a vivid cover.”
Callie felt more eased due to her recognition. She had no idea about what to say but kept expressing her gratitude to Violet.
Violet asked, “The man with you was not your boyfriend, was he?”
“You found it. In fact, he’s my boss,” Callie said with embarrassment
Violet chuckled, “Ha-ha, his acting is not that natural.”
After hanging the phone call, Callie was struck in a trance for a while then she let out a shriek of delight and went to knock at Nelson’s door excitedly. Without reasons, she could not help thinking she should share her excitement with him.
Nelson was going to sleep. He opened the door and saw the lady with a bright red face due to excitement. He then said, “Let me guess.”
Callie nodded heavily.
“You got the IP copyright, correct?”
He was so smart. Callie jigged up and down, effusive in her delight and excitement, and said, “Yes. I can carry out work for the design! I got the project!”
Nelson leaned against the door with a faint smile. She jumped to him and gave him a short hug with her arms around his neck.
“Nelson, thank you very much. All the things wouldn’t be such a smooth going without you. Wow, I’m so happy now.”
The man stood still, his body frozen for a while, but soon he got his breath again. He looked at her with tenderness and said, “Congratulations.”
“I’m over the moon. I think we should share the joy to others!”
“Tomorrow is Saturday. Grandpa invites us to have a meal with them.”
Now, Callie could respond as usual, “Sure. I will prepare for it.”
Suddenly, she felt something weird. She raised her face and looked at Nelson who was looking at her simultaneously. A light of tenderness came into his eyes. She could even feel a sense of pampering.
It seemed that they were as natural as a couple who had got married for years…
Nelson also noticed that the mood changes, then he said, after giving a little cough and taking a step backward, “Time to sleep.”
Callie was brought up short with her heart fluttering. Just now, she was almost overwhelmed by his sheep’s eyes.
Nelson was always a cold man. Why did he show such an expression to her?
Callie had a dream at night.
It was an evening, by the sea. Nelson held her close to him and told her they would be together forever.
Although it was not that clear, Callie made sure it was Nelson, even if it was not possible for him to be as tender and patient as in the dream.
The dream was vivid as if it did happen.
It’d been in the daytime when Callie was woken out from the sleep, with her face blushing scarlet.
“Callie, how could you dream about Nelson?” Callie said to herself.
At the moment, Nancy knocked at her door and asked, “Are you awake, Mrs. Oconnor? It’s time to set off.”
Callie got out of the bed in a panic, asking, “What about Nelson?”
“Mr. Oconnor has been waiting for you.”
She couldn’t believe she’d been asleep this long!
In a hurry, Callie put on the wedding ring and bracelet after she tidied herself up. When she was going downstairs, she saw Nelson, who was in a comfortable white shirt and black trousers, standing in front of French window. His figure from behind was dashing.
She trotted downstairs, breathing quickly, “I’m sorry. My clock didn’t go off.”
Nelson squinted at her, thinking that she seldom acted hurriedly like this, “We are in no hurry. Let’s go.”
