“Enough!”
Mr. Montes scolded Callie angrily, “So you didn’t do it, enough with the excuses! Do you think you can do whatever you want just because you have a bit talent? Let me tell you something, the Design Department won’t tolerate your bad habits. Go write me a 10, 000-word report, or go clean the office!”
Callie stared coldly at him. “Mr. Montes, this is my design. I will prove it.”
Mr. Montes just snorted and glanced at the locked office door.
“Prove it? Even if you can prove it, so what? As long as I say this was Lorelai’s work, do you think the executives will doubt it?”
Callie clenched her fists even tighter.
“Mr. Montes!”
“Callie, you’ve been working here for a long time now. Don’t force me to be drastic. It’s not good for anyone, is it?”
“So, Mr. Montes, you knew all along that this was my design?”
Mr. Montes smirked.
“This was just given to me by Lorelai. You saw it too. This is Lorelai’s work. What are you trying to accomplish here, causing trouble like this?”
Then Lorelai added, “Callie, I understand you want to climb up, but making stuff up in not the way. Being lazy this one time is not a big deal. Just pay more attention next time.”
The two of them echoed each other, completely disregarding Callie.
Callie looked up coldly.
“Aren’t you afraid I’ll tell this matter to Mr. Oconnor?”
Lorelai laughed.
“Callie, stop daydreaming. Why would someone like Mr. Oconnor bother with someone like you! You should take a good look in the mirror, and stop flattering yourself. And don’t tarnish Mr. Oconnor’s reputation.”
Her voice were full of disdain.
Callie snorted coldly and walked away.
Back at her desk, Callie’s chest heaved with agitation. She really wanted to rush to Mr. Oconnor’s office and clarify things up, but she wasn’t sure if Mr. Oconnor, busy as he was, would even bother with such a small matter?
Also, she didn’t really want to trouble Mr. Oconnor too much.
Forget it, she would solve her own problems. Plus, there was a small flaw in her design…
If Lorelai turned in the design without patching the flaw, there would be problems later.

After Maintenance sent someone to fix the computer, Callie found that all the design drafts in it were indeed gone. Callie didn’t waste anytime being angry, but instead used her break time to go to Oconnor Group’s control room.
The control room was located at the back of the first floor. When Callie got off the elevator and looked up, she suddenly saw Nelson’s handsome and serious face.
Callie was startled.
What were the chances to run into him here?
“Mr. Oconnor,” she nodded slightly, then turned around to leave, but Nelson’s cold voice suddenly sounded.
“What’s wrong?”
Seeing her dispirited face, Nelson asked.
Callie forced a smile. “I’m fine, just lost something, so I came to check the surveillance.”
Nelson didn’t suspect anything and asked, “What did you lose?”
Callie didn’t want to share too much with Nelson, so she just said, “Nothing important, just a small thing.”
Nelson doubted just a small thing would make her go through this much trouble.
“Do you need any help?”
“No, thank you, Mr. Oconnor.”
His assistant was watching the whole scene on the side, and was stunned by their interaction.
When did Mr. Oconnor start caring about people? And the one he cared about was merely a designer at the company. This really piqued the assistant’s curiosity.
Even curious,, the assistant just adjusted the glasses on his nose and pretended not to see anything.
“If you need help, come to the top floor to find me,” Nelson said.
