I slept through most of the plane ride on Rhett’s soft shoulder. I was nervous, Rhett knew everything about me but Faust.
Don’t be nervous, my love. Rhett whispers into my ear while we walked out of the airport.
He paid someone to unpack our stuff and take it to our house. I interlocked our fingers together while bringing the back of his hand to my lips kissing him softly.
Rhett was a lot like me in the family sense except his dad abandoned him and his siblings but we both came from very rich families. He was dealing with his own depression and monsters when I met him, I like to think we both saved each other. He already arranged a car for us, he of course got a range rover because he knows does are my favorite brand of car.
Driving to my park house was giving me a bit ptsd, memories flooded my mind. I was so weak and broken back then, I don’t even recognize that scared little girl. We passed by the restaurant where Faust and I had passionate sex after my grandma and mother ripped through me, I shivered at the thought.
We pulled into the driveway, my body was filled with anxiety. He lowered his glare to find mine, he smiled softly making me smile even bigger.
You’ll be fine. He reinsured me.
I nodded, he worked his way around the car to open the door for me. I got down and looked around, nothing looks different. Everything looked the same but the atmosphere was definitely different, I glanced at the spot where I parked my car after being attacked by Jakob. I gulped at the memory, I pushed it to the back of my mind and walked over to the door. He knocked on the door while holding some of our suitcases, it was funny watching him juggle the suitcases but I knew he wouldn’t let me help.
My mom opened the door, her face lit up when she saw me. I leaped in her arms wrapping my small legs around her, she held the back of my head while attacking me in kisses.
Orlando, our baby is home. My mom shouts so my dad would hear, I gave her one last good squeeze before pulling away to hug my dad.
I could hear my dad’s heavy feet making their way to the front door, finally he came into view. I hugged him even harder, he lifted me up giving me a tight squeeze.
I’ve missed you guys so much. I said, happily.
My mom gave Rhett a hug, they’ve met him before when we had thanksgiving dinner together in Paris. My dad and I pulled away, he gave Rhett a quick hug. My dad and him got along really well, both my parents loved him and it made me happy.
How was your trip ? My mom asked as we walked into the he kitchen, I removed my coat and placed it on top of the cleared table.
It was pretty smooth, my mom insisted that we take her private jet. Rhett says.
My mom nods. I sat down on one of the stools, my sad was about to sit back down till my mom gave him a pointe look.
Go help your son-in-law carry their suitcases upstairs. My mom smiles.
I guess so. My dad forces a funny face, I laughed.
Rhett and him went to unload the car and carry our suitcases upstairs. I glanced back at my mom, she had worried swirling around in her eyes.
How was the drive over here ? My mom asks while leaning over the island.
I inhaled with a huge huff sound. It was weird seeing everything again, I was just such a different person back then you know. I confided in my mom so much now, she was like my second best friend now.
I know, baby but you’ve changed for the better and Rhett seems even more in love with you since the last time I saw him. My mom chuckles at the part about Rhett.
I giggled while my cheeks started to get red at the thought of him.
I think I can imagine having a life with him, getting married, having kids, getting old together. I smiled at my thoughts. I love him a lot.
My mom jumps up and down happily, she gives me a huge hug.
Sorry, it’s just this all I ever wanted for you. My mom says.
My face soften before I got up and gave her a hug thoroughly, she dug her head deeper into my neck. We decided to go check on the boys, my dad was carrying the last suitcase upstair. My mom and dad told us to settle in while they went to go cook dinner, well my mom went to go cook dinner my dad went down there to keep her company.
After I closed the door, Rhett attacked me in kisses. I laughed as he threw me over his shoulders, I was wiggling around trying to get set free knowing what he’s about to do.
The tickle monster. He says in a monster tone, he lays me down on the bed and starts tickling me on my stomach.
I couldn’t stop laughing and swarming around, he tickled me in all my ticklish spots.
That’s not funny, stop it. I laughed so hard
I tried tickling him back but he was as hard as a rock, we caught each other’s glare and his hand stopped tickling me. I softly placed my hand against his cheek while staring up at him, I was fixated on him and his love. It’s crazy how much one person could change me, he outstared me.
I have a gift for you but you have to wait till dinner. He softly runs his finger down my rosie cheek.
Wow Gallagher, are you teasing me with a gift ? I wiggled my eyebrows.
He placed his lips against mine so softly, I kissed him back while wrapping my legs around his torso. We made out for a good few seconds before we pulled away and started unpacking our stuff, we need to stay with my mom for a few days till our house is ready. The whole house smelt like my moms special soup, after we both took a shower we made our way downstairs to eat dinner.
When we got downstairs everyone was sitting at the table with the food prepared and ready to eat. Andrew, my moms boyfriend gave me a quick hug and shook hands with Rhett and Mia, my dads girlfriend gave me and Rhett a kiss on the cheek while welcoming us back.
Andrew and Mia are amazing step-parents and my parents actually found people they actually love, our lives have changed for the better in this family and I couldn’t be more happier.
So your mom told me that you guys are thinking about living down here for a while ? Mia as she sipped her water.
I nodded while looking at Rhett, I know he wasn’t to fond of the idea of living here permeant. He simply smiled while leaning over to kiss my forehead.
I just want to be closer to my dad while he’s going through this. I mentioned.
My dad was diagnosed with amnesia two weeks ago, I wanted to be here to support him and help him.
That’s so thoughtful, baby. My mom smiles at me.
And I needed a new adventure anyways so it was no bother. Rhett comforted my dads uneasy stare, my dad nodded.
I already have a job lined up.
That’s great, where at ? My dad asked.
Columbia University, I’m their new counselor. He states proudly.
I smiled excitedly, all he’s ever wanted is to help people deal with depression and their mental health.
And I’m a stay at home girlfriend. I nodded confidently, everyone giggles.
Actually I wanted to change that.
I glanced at him, confusion was clearly covering my face. My mom started to jump up and down with Mia holding her hand joining her.
Rhett got out of his seat and got on one knee, my eyes widened in shock. He grabbed the small velvet red box from behind his pocket and opened it showing me a huge teardrop diamond ring. My mouth fell open while my eyes fluttered rapidly as I tried wrapping my brain around the fact that he was purposing.
It was my grandmas wedding ring, I could recognize that jewel anywhere I was always so obsessed with it.
