Adriel’s Point of View:
Annabella’s high-pitched gasps and cries sounded in my ears, making my skin crawl, and I felt ashamed of myself.
It felt like I was doing the wrong thing. But to my dark side, her cries sounded like sweet music.
Her pleading grew louder, and I felt like I was trapped once again in a nightmare. I wanted to stop sucking her blood, but I couldn’t control myself.
I was at war with my inner mind, and I could swear that I was hearing another heartbeat apart from Annabella’s own, but I paid no attention to it.
I could taste my blood as I sucked her’s, it was like a part of me, a little Adriel was inside her, and I was sucking from the poor being.
All these feelings confused me, and I was about to control my thirst and stop sucking her blood when I suddenly heard my late lover’s name.
“Arella…..” she hollered with a loud voice, hoping I would hear her and think about what she had said. And indeed, I heard her loud and clear.
I froze at that spot, and the entity, having had his fill, disappeared back to where it came from. The poison which I had taken melted into my blood, and I came back to my senses.
It was like that name she called awoke a part of me that’d been asleep for over two hundred years.
I turned to face her, my black eyes scrutinizing her face, searching for an explanation. She looked so much like myArella, and although the resemblance was one of the reasons why I agreed to sleep with her the first time we met, I began to doubt if our first meeting was a coincidence.
“How do you know my Arella?” I stammered in disbelief, as the guilty feeling which I had buried came back.
Before I could get her response, her lips turned white, and her face was pale. Her eyes closed at once, and she fell into my arms. I realized that her body was cold, and her temperature has risen above the normal human’s body temperature.
Regret clouded my eyes, washing my mind with its painful grip. I began to regret my actions.
“What have I done?” I cried out and swiftly stood to my feet, the fainted woman in my arms.
I knew that when she woke up the next morning, she would hate me for draining her blood. She might even avoid me, and I wouldn’t be able to know how she knew about ‘vampires, Saga City, and my Arella.’
But more than that, I knew she would be traumatized; it was normal for humans to get traumatized after witnessing something shocking or confusing.
So I made up my mind to perform a forbidden ritual on her, that was the only way to keep her sane, and protect her from thinking that enemies were after her.
I decided that it would be best to erase her memories of what happened that night. Not only would I erase her memories and thoughts, I would input a fake memory of the event that happened at the birthday party.
But there was a condition attached to erasing human memories without their permission.
‘When she wakes up, it will all seem like a nightmare to her, and as long as nothing supernatural happens and triggers the nightmare, she would never be able to remember it. But if something abnormal happens within the space of a week after the memory has been erased, she would remember everything that happened that night. And if her memory has ever been tampered with, she will remember everything she’d ever forgotten
Also, when she wakes up, she’ll see me as a villain, and dislike me. But it’s not a confirmed symptom, it might happen, and it might not.
I assured myself that everything would work out as planned, and I took the courage to recite the spells.
“Sleep tight, in the morning, when the sun comes up, everything that happens tonight will be a horrible dream to you. You will not remember any supernatural creatures.
I use this forbidden spell to change your night, and nothing will go wrong in the day.” I whispered those forbidden words into her ears, and she yawned.
“Nighty night, my little pest…” I gently caressed her cheeks as I admired her heavenly beauty l.
Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and Terry, one of my guards, entered. My eyes squinted at him suspiciously, and my arms around Annabella were tightened protectively.
“I am so sorry for interrupting your quiet moment, master. But Lady Quinn instructed me to invite you to the family’s chamber, or else, she will come for you herself!” Terry informed me with a polite voice, and bowed his head.
I looked at the messy floor, covered in my blood. It was starting to disappear, but I knew my mother would be able to detect if she entered the balcony.
“Why does she want me to join her in the family’s chamber? What is going on?” I asked Terry with arched brows. It wasn’t like I was suspecting my mother, but I wanted to take the necessary precautions, in case of necessity.
“I heard the Queen will soon arrive.” Terry replied with a gentle voice, and I sighed softly.
“Grandma….” I muttered under my breath, wondering if she had a hand in the poisoning of my drink.
I looked at the sleeping lady in my hand, and I couldn’t leave her all by herself, so I handed her over to Terry. He was one of the few guards I trusted.
Terry was surprised when I gently dropped the lady in his arms, and he furrowed his brows at me.
“Take her back home, and make sure you pick each of her belongings. If she wakes up in the car, tell her that she got drunk and Logan instructed you to take her home.
Also, if anyone asks you any question, tell them the same thing. Is that clear?” I asked with a husky voice, looking at the sleeping lady with love in my eyes.
“Yes sir!” Terry replied like a diligent servant.
After pecking her cheeks, I instructed Terry to leave the balcony discreetly.
But little did I know that as he was leaving, Lola was watching him suspiciously.
A menacing smile appeared on her lips, and she nodded her head as she took interest in what was happening.
