“What were you doing before I came in?” Wayne asked as he kissed Olive’s neck gently in the kitchen. He decided to not think about how to tell her about the reason for the meeting yet. At least, until after dinner.
“Oh, I was feeling hungry. You know I skipped lunch. So I was just going to make myself a thick smoothie,” she answered and he released her.
“A thick smoothie,” he repeated and she chuckled then nodded.
“See, I already cut the fruits. I was going to blend them when you arrived. You have a smoothie blender here. I was so thrilled when I saw it,” she pointed towards the kitchen counter where she had arranged her fruits in a ceramic bowl. The milk was sitting in a glass cup already and so was the small smoothie blender from his Aunt.
“And how do you intend to make a thick smoothie?” he questioned as she took his hand to lead him to the counter.
“By using more fruits and less milk. It will be quite thick and more satisfying. Come on, let’s cut more fruits to get two glasses. Good thing you’ve got more fruits than I thought,” she said and he followed after her.
“I recently ordered the kitchen to supply groceries here times two of the normal groceries.”
“Oh, no wonder. That was really thoughtful. I wanna start cooking for you when I can. What do you think?”
“That would be after our Mating Ritual, right?”
“Well, yes. You know… when we would become a real…” she trailed off and diverted her gaze from him.
“A real what?” he asked, even though he knew what she wanted to say.
“Huh? Nothing. Don’t mind me,” she mumbled and chewed on her lips. Wayne moved close to her and cupped her face in his hands. He looked down into her eyes lovingly and kissed her on the lips gently.
“We will be a real family, babe. And yeah, I’ll be honoured if you cook for me, Luna,” he stated and she smiled.
“Yeah, I’ll cook for you, Alpha,” she acknowledged happily and he smiled and kissed her lips again.
“Now, about that smoothie. I’m pretty hungry too. Are you sure it is satisfying?”
“Only one way to find out,” she answered and pulled him to the counter. She pushed the knife and the cutting board to him then opened the fridge and pulled out the plastic box of berries, three bananas, two apples and the can of milk.
“Add an orange for flavor,” he said. She furrowed her brows at him.
“It would just be an orange for the flavor. It would taste fine. Come on,” Wayne nudged at her and she rolled her eyes before picking a small orange.
She peeled it while he washed the fruits. They both cut them together before blending them in two batches, which included the one she had cut before he came. They poured the drink in two long glasses and added ice and straw. They both took a drag from it at the same time and Olive moaned while Wayne just nodded. It tasted good.
“Told you the orange would add flavor. Look how good it tastes.”
“So what, should I call you Master Chef now?”
“You should. Don’t hide it.”
Olive laughed and took another sip of the smoothie.
“Let’s go to the bedroom,” she said afterwards and he hugged her sideways and they walked together. They met Jake entering through the door of the receiving hall.
“Alpha, Olive,” he called and smiled at her particularly.
“Hey, Jake. How are you?”
“Pretty good. And you?”
“Pretty good.”
“What’s that you’re drinking?”
“Smoothies Wayne and I made.”
“What? Wayne made smooth-”
Alpha Knight shot him a glare and he cleared his throat.
“I mean, wow, can I get one too?”
“Yeah, sure you-”
“Can’t” Wayne cut in with a frown on his face. Jake stared at him.
“Wayne, I don’t mind making another-”
“Yes, you do mind. So you’re not making another smoothie,” he cut in again.
“What did I ever do to you, man?” Jake asked in a funny voice that Olive laughed.
“Sorry, Jake. But the BBA has the final say right here,” she said in a laugh.
“It’s cool,” Jake replied with a smile.
“Why are you here?” Wayne questioned.
“Oh, it’s ready. So is the pilot. I called the housekeeper and she said everything is already getting ready over there and that they would be making dinner for you. So you don’t have to bother about eating before you go,” Jake explained and Olive’s countenance fell.
“Another urgent journey?” she asked with a displeased voice. She looked up at Wayne to see him looking calm.
“Yes,” he simply answered.
“And you’re leaving tonight? You’re not even going to have dinner here? Is this as a result of the meeting?”
Wayne chuckled softly without looking down at her.
“We’ll be ready in thirty minutes. I’ll let you know when we’re ready to go,” he told Jake and Jake nodded.
“Yes, Alpha,” he said and turned around to take his leave.
“We? Isn’t Jake accompanying you?”
“No,” he answered.
“Why?” she asked.
“Because it’s just you and I on this journey.”
“What? We’re going somewhere? Why so urgent?”
“Gosh, baby. You ask too many questions. How many times do I have to tell you that. Now come on, we have to get ready,” he pushed her along and they walked together to their bedroom.
Olive was however boiling on the inside with questions. The most burning one was what did the journey have to do with the meeting? And what journey was it? She couldn’t help but feel worried somehow. Something wasn’t right.

Cynthia was kneeling in the middle of the large empty hall of the Grand Chamber. Except for the fires burning on the touches by the walls and a few guards standing guard at the corners, the hall was empty. Suddenly, she felt that cold chilling sensation getting closer to her. He had arrived. The man who did that to her face. She was terrified of him to the death.
“Master,” she bowed her head to the ground and waited for him to command to get up.
“Look up my child,” he said.
She did and saw him standing with his hooded garment. He motioned to one man behind him and he came forward with a similar garment in his hand. The Baron collected it and stretched it to Cynthia.
“Take this. It’s yours from today. This is your armor which would enable you to kill Olive Roger for me. If you bring me her head, I would restore your face to normal and reward you abundantly,” he stated in his shrill, bone chilling voice.
