“Yes.” The man acknowledged the order and left.
The room resumed its former tranquility.
since there was no serious problem, Rosiley asked Sachin to take her to the hospital where her father was staying.
“Dad, I managed to retain the Group.” Rosiley watched his father’s face with his closely shut eyes, and her lips curled up slightly.
“Dad, Uncle Chen said that I am a daughter who could do you proud. What do you think?”
When she mentioned this, Rosiley chuckled softly a few times. “I think you won’t feel proud, but will instead think I was just being mischievous.”
She looked at him silently, the smile on her lips gradually faded. There was a tinge of sadness in her eyes. She hoped so fervently for her father to awaken and point at her nose, scolding her for being naughty and immature.
But her father before her had his eyes tightly shut. His expression was calm, so calm that she felt pained looking at him.
She took a deep breath and curled up the corners of her lips. “Dad, in a few days’ time you will be going to America. I know you will surely blame me for sending you to an unfamiliar place, but as long as you can wake up and get well, I will be happy for you to scold me.”
Then, she started chuckling foolishly. Tears rolled down her cheeks.
With the tears welling in her eyes, her father’s face gradually became blurred.
Sachin outside the door heard her suppressed sobs. His thin lips pursed tightly into a pucker.
He pushed the door open and walked in. At a glance, he saw her crying and sitting by the bed.
His heart ached and he walked over to clasp her in his arms.
He did not say anything and merely held her quietly, letting her cry out loud in his arms.
Some emotions had been suppressed for too long. When everything had finally been settled, they could then be released.
It was already past seven in the evening when they returned from the hospital. As soon as they entered the house, Auntie Wu came up to them to report that Morphy and the others were there.
Rosiley hurried into the living room but was keenly aware that the atmosphere felt a bit strange.
Morphy and Corey were each in an armchair, while Xiaoxiao and Yayoi were seated on the three-seater sofa. All of them were looking glum.
Even when they saw that they were home, they merely reacted with a bland, “You’re back.”
It was strange! Extremely strange!
Rosiley and Sachin exchanged glances, then walked over to sit beside Xiaoxiao. They whispered, “What happened to you people? Why are you all looking unhappy?”
Ying Xiaoxiao pouted. “I have had an unhappy dispute with Corey.”
There was no need to mention the affair between Yayoi and Morphy.
Rosiley raised her brows and asked, “Have you people eaten?”
“Not yet. sister-in-law, do you want to go out and celebrate?” Corey glanced at Ying Xiaoxiao and suggested.
“Celebrate?” Rosiley frowned.
“That’s right. Let’s celebrate the fact you’re now the chairperson of the Group.”
Rosiley nodded. “It’s indeed worth celebrating.” Then she turned to look at Sachin and asked, “Sachin, what do you think?”
“You make the decision,” Sachin responded gently, giving her the final say.
So Rosiley stood up and declared loudly, “Let’s go. I will treat you guys to a big meal.”
“sister-in-law, what a wise decision.” Corey gave her a thumbs up.
Rosiley smiled and turned back to ask Xiaoxiao and Yayoi, “What do you gals think?”
“I’m okay with anything.” Ying Xiaoxiao shrugged indifferently.
Yayoi hesitated before nodding. “I’m okay with that too.”
“Alright then, let’s move it.”
So this group of people all left for the place at which they were to celebrate.
