ALPHA DERON
Drawing closer to my company, I noticed a crowd outside the gate, trying to get in. This people aren’t workers here. They are just members of my pack! My people!
They must have rushed down after seeing Brielle on the news, feeding my stupid hungry employees.
“The audacity! She’s going too far with this father. Look at your own people drooling over that worthless woman! Are you really going to allow someone like her to lecture you? ”
“Be quiet!” I shunned my daughter, driving towards the gate.
When I got close to the crowds, they immediately recognized my vehicle and began to rage out, calling me names.
“Selfish!”
“You cruel man! You aren’t worthy to be our Alpha!”
“How could you starve your own workers?!” They all yelled from outside my car, bashing their fist at the poor vehicle.
Estelle shrieked when she saw how some ran their claws at the window, demanding for answers. “Daddy, drive! ” She shouted, grabbing my steering wheel recklessly.
“Stop it! ” I yelled at her, gaining control of my vehicle and zooming in when my security guards opened the gate, allowing me to pass through and preventing those wolves from stepping in.
When I parked my car at a corner, Estelle and I came out, just in time to see Brielle talking to my workers, while those petty press kept their cameras rolling on her.
The sight of this physically, made my blood boil. Just look at the way she’s petting those freeloaders like their mother!
“Gosh! I hate her. She’s the reason behind all our problems. She first stole my career and now she’s trying to take your glory and title, father. Do something fast before she turn everyone against you! ” Estelle advised, groaning at the scene unfolding in my own company.
Raged, I stormed up towards this charity ground and roared out, making my presence known, “How dare you step into my pack?!”
“It’s Alpha Deron!” My workers gasped out, staring at me in surprise. The press immediately directed their cameras at me, ready to broadcast every drama that will unfold.
“Who gave you the right to step into my property and conduct your giveaway? This is my land! My pack! And whatever that goes on in this pack, is under my control! How dare you carry your filthy legs into my domain, sharing your sweets and crackers to my workers?!” I roared, kicking a chair which was close by.
My action got my workers stunned, looking back at me with anger in their eyes. Even the press found my words rude. They didn’t stop rolling their cameras, taking note of everything occurring.
The one I was venting out my frustration to, didn’t even show any sign of care. In fact, she didn’t listening to me! She just stood close to the table with loads of raw food, arranging them into different gift bags.
She just ignored my presence, acting like I didn’t exist! How disrespectful!
“Just look at her father! Look at the audacity! In our own pack, you’re showing attitude to the Alpha of Red wood?! How dare you?!” Estelle sparked out.
But even with what my daughter said, Brielle didn’t say a thing. The only movement she made, aside from arranging the food into the bags, was a tilt. She tilted her head to our point and dropped her eyes at me.
I would have taken this gaze as nothing but… The way she was staring back felt… Creepy.
Her face had no expression. She looked like one who woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Her pupils popped out in a strange and usual way, as she gazed with a cold glare, uttering no word.
I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but… why do I sense something off about this woman? I know I’ve been seeing her bad attitude, but this side… She’s more… I can’t put my finger on it.
All of a sudden, Brielle’s cold emotionless face gave a deadly smirk, causing my heart to skitter at the sight of it. My body shivered. It felt as if she could see right through my soul.
“Don’t speak to Luna Brielle like that!” One of my workers yelled out, taking my attention from Brielle and straight on my disloyal employees.
“When you and your father turned deaf to our cries, she came in to save us. And you are speaking ill of her?”
“You should cover your face in shame, Princess! You don’t have anything good for your pack. All you do is bring shame upon shame to this pack!”
Estelle gasped at the words of the latter that just fired at her. I was shocked as well. This is my daughter and a mere wolf is insulting her publicly?!
“If we want a woman to talk, it’s Luna Brielle, not a useless princess like yourself.”
“SHUT UP! ” I roared out loudly, silencing the idiot who was attacking my daughter. His words had struck my poor girl’s heart, that she had to cling to me for support, holding back her tears.
“You bastard! After all I did for you people, you have decided to insult me and my child?!”
“We are only pointing out the truth, Alpha,” A lady among the press, said boldly. “You and your daughter are always on the headlines. And it’s not about something good, but something bad.”
“Excuse me?” I dimmed my eyes at the woman, who lowered her voice at the sight of my gaze, still talking. “I… I mean… It has become an everyday routine in your home. If it’s not your daughter, it’s Alpha Argon. Well, somehow it’s the first time we’ll be getting a news that the Alpha of Red wood pack has decided to show his true colors by starving his workers.”
“I didn’t starve anyone! If I did starve this ungrateful goats, will they be looking this fresh?!” I pointed at the baboons standing with Brielle, holding their gift bags.
“I have been loyal to this people for many years! I have always been paying them their goddamned money! And just this particular time that I told them to be patient, they decided to bring down the pack and act like the animals they are! ” I sparked, breathing out heavily.
With confidence, I bragged about my past progress and achievements, reminding them of the kind of man I was. “I have served this pack for so long. Have I ever made my people lack? You all have a good home, jobs, and other things to enjoy your life with. But the moment you heard Alpha Deron hasn’t paid his workers their month end fee, you immediately concluded that I’m a terrible man? You all are freeloaders! ” I pointed at all of them, expressing my rage.
Though they were getting silent by the minute, thinking about what I just said… “That’s not why your workers are protesting, Deron,” Brielle said, breaking the silence with no fear.
Estelle and I directed our attention at this wretch, who cleaned her hand with a napkin, before facing us.
I thought she was going to stay shut, but she dared to speak. It’s because of her that my daughter and I are going through this mess. She’s the main problem here.
“Your workers know about your past achievements and how you pay them back then. But what they’d like to know is why their Alpha chose to lie and use them, ” She said, leaving me furious.
“What rubbish are you yammering, you this woman?”
“The truth, Deron, ” She responded quickly. “You used this poor people to carry out a mighty work load, threatening to banish anyone that decides to stand against you, ” She exposed, leaving me shocked.
Did this morons tell her what happened? Not just that, the press are taking note of all these! This… This is bad!
I tried to cover the situation by claiming the work was super important. “It’s an important task I wanted them to achieve. That’s where their money is coming from! If they had been more patient, they would have gotten their payment today! But since they all decided to stand against me, no one is getting a dime! ” I added, stunning my workers.
Their faces were filled with regret, probably wishing they hadn’t orchestrated this stupid protest in the first place. At least, this will be my excuse in getting rid of them.
“And now that you have shown me your real faces, I’m going to make sure you all are replaced with new and loyal worlers, ” I said, smirking with pride.
This sent my workers mumbling, shaking at my final conclusion. It brought peace to my heart, placing me above everyone present. But still, there was one person against my happiness.
“I’m sorry, which money are you expecting?” Brielle questioned, sticking her pinky into her ear to hear me clearly. “Did you just say you were going to pay them their money today?”
“And how’s that your business?” Estelle questioned, crossing her arms. She now had the confidence to speak again.
Instead of that woman to stay shut, she came out chuckling, saying, “I’m just curious, Estelle. Your father said something quite amusing.”
“Oh, so the fact that he got the money for the goods he sold is amusing?” Estelle asked, lifting her brow at Brielle.
“It’s the SOLD that tickles, Princess. So Deron… Which goods did you sell and which did you give out for free?” She questioned openly, causing my heart to pound.
“Free?”
“Goods for free? ”
“Which goods?” I heard everyone mumbling, turning heads left and right.
My body was trembling in my spot. How did this witch know? God dammit! Did Argon tell her about the free goods?!
“Free? You must be drunk if you think my father is foolish to give out goods worth millions, for free. He said he sold it and the money is with him!”
“Then how about a sneak peak into his account, huh Deron?” Brielle asked, grinning at me.
This woman is devilish! Is this the kind of person she has become? I thought she was still that weakling who was trying to act tough. But… She’s a monster!
“A sneak peak, huh? Fine then, ” Estelle foolishly accepted, persuading me to show everyone the billions in my account. “Silence this people once and for all. Let them see that you’re not a broke ass Alpha.”
“Yes, show us. We would love to see your billions, ” Brielle supported, grabbing a chair and taking a seat, crossing her legs with a grin across her face.
This woman has trapped me. How do I show them my account? I don’t have billions any more.
As Estelle was busy persuading me to silence the people, the press joined in, telling me to prove that I have the money to pay my workers. “That’s the only way we’ll believe you,” They said.
With all the pressure on me… “STOP BOTHERING ME! IS IT A MUST?!” I roared, panting out heavily.
“Father?” My action stunned Estelle, who stared at me in confusion.
“Haha! This is so beautiful!” Brielle laughed, clapping her hands at my sudden outburst. “Is that response enough for you, Estelle? Or do you want more?” Brielle asked, smiling cunningly.
Her mischievous behavior was beginning to get to me. She didn’t just clip my daughter’s wings but got everyone looking at me nastily.
“If you aren’t satisfied, let me tell you what your sweet father did, ” Brielle said, rising to her feet.
Right before my workers and the press, this monster told everyone about the deal I struck with Argon. “Alpha Argon asked your father if he was capable of handling the work and he said yes. He was given a document to sign as an agreement and he did. It’s not like he didn’t read it, he went through the pages and signed it. And in those papers, it was stated that he’ll be giving his goods free of charge to Alpha Argon’s partners. ”
“What? ” Estelle and my workers gasped, looking at me. I froze, unable to gulp down my saliva.
“I don’t believe this. And he said he sold it.”
“He lied to us!” My workers mumbled over this, getting mad at me.
“Is this true? You lied about selling the goods when you gave it for free?”
“What do you have to say for yourself?” The press fired their questions.
Heat from nowhere suddenly engulfed me. I didn’t know what to do or say. But there was one thing I was going to do, and that’s expose Argon’s scam!
“Tell us the truth,” They demanded.
“Truth huh? You want to know the truth? Then listen. Yes! The goods was given out for free to top business tycoons, and it’s all because of that scammer called Argon! ” I accused, mentioning Argon’s name, so that he will take a share in the nonsense he started.
“He lied to me and got me to give those goods out for free! He’s the reason why you don’t have any salary to feed your family. That man is a crook! ” I blamed him, venting out my frustration.
But Brielle… “Don’t you dare blame Argon for your own greed, Deron!” She groaned.
“Or what? You’re going to call him to fight for you? Call him! He should come over and tell everyone how he deceived me! ” I yelled at her, gaining my confidence back.
Instead of seeing Brielle trembling, she smirked at me and said, “There’s no need for him to come here and answer you. My presence alone is enough for you. ”
“Really? And what are you going to do? ”
The moment I made that statement, I heard everyone’s phone ringing out. It was strange, yet suspicious.
“What’s this? ” Estelle uttered, checking her phone.
And to my surprise, a video of my conversation with Argon at his company, talking about the goods, was played around, echoing out loudly!
I was horrified, hearing the promise I made to Argon, assuring him a quick delivery, and also calling him my son.
“I would have done this myself, but… I hope it won’t be stressful for you?” The record echoed. “Come on, son. You don’t have to worry about it. I’ll get it ready before the week ends.” My own voice echoed out from everyone’s phone.
“I… I’m trapped! How did this video get into the… ” I paused, dropping my eyes on that witch. She stared at me deviously, waving her her hand at me!
When my people watched this, their raging eyes fell on me. “You liar! You want to blame that innocent man for your own doings?!”
“I can’t believe this. You’re selfish! You didn’t think about your people before agreeing to this!”
“Why did you do this? ”
“Let me give you the answer to that question,” Brielle immediately voiced out, raising her hand for everyone to see her.
When I saw this, I sparked at her, “Shut up!”
“Alpha Deron was looking for a way to get Alpha Argon to cover up his bankruptcy. So, when he knew quite well that he didn’t have enough money, he took up that offer despite Argon’s refusal, giving those goods for free, just to win Argon’s trust.”
“I said shut up, you liar!” I roared, approaching Brielle.
She kept on talking, twisting the whole truth to favor Argon. “He wants Argon to see him as someone worthy to be by his side. That’s why your Alpha went as far as…”
“SHUT UP!” In a swift, I grabbed Brielle’s arm and roared, ” GET OUT OF MY PACK!”
To my greatest surprise, Brielle pulled her arm out of hold, grabbed my tie and pulled my head down before her, saying with full power, “You mean my pack, right Deron?”
