BRIELLE
“Did you see her face? Gosh! It was so sweet!” Tania laughed out loudly, talking about Estelle’s humiliation.
I smiled while watching her demonstrate Estelle’s behavior before she was kicked out. In fact, I was over the moon since I got a front row seat to this drama.
Her coming was unexpected, that I’d say. I was still enjoying my sweet victory over that proud king that calls himself Damien. He dared to attack the company I plan to rule one day, thinking he could get away with it?
He crossed the path of the wrong person.
The same day he showed up at the factory to flirt with me, I used that period to handle both Damien’s men and his factory.
With speed, I was able to put those wolves in their places before journeying down to every locations where his factories were situated, ruining the goods for him.
Even the one arriving from overseas, I handled that as well, using Bane’s idea.
I was planning on damaging the vehicles that’ll bring the goods down, just like the way Damien attacked Argon, but Bane had a better plan.
“If it sinks to the bottom, they won’t be able to retrieve it easily,” She had said, suggesting we push the containers into the sea.
Giving those heavy containers some holes, I did as Bane wanted and sank those nonsense loads to the bottom.
And it was so satisfying to watch Damien run from one place to another, seeking for help. Now he’s going to face the music just like Argon.
But my jubilation increased when Argon defended me before that annoying model. I wasn’t expecting him to grab her hand. In fact, I was prepared to do it myself.
But seeing how he acted and even rejected Estelle right before me eyes, bloomed my heart with happiness.
“We have gotten that fool on our side. He finally rejected Estelle because of you. This is so sweet,” Bane chuckled out of delight.
Indeed it’s as sweet as honey. The plan is moving faster than we expected. And it’s all thanks to Estelle and her father, who abandoned Argon in his time of need.
That was my opening. The right signal I was waiting for.
“This is so exciting! What’s next, Luna?” Tania asked, sitting beside me, getting all fired up.
“I can’t wait for you to get your position back in this pack. Now Alpha Argon is beginning to trust you over that worthless Estelle. Those scaled eyes of his are opening at last, ” Tania said, rubbing her hands deviously.
I stared at her face and saw a different Tania. She’s no longer that Tania of old, but the best version of herself. A trust worthy helper in time of need.
She was so thrilled about the outcome of the plan, seeking for more tasks to handle.
I patted her on the head and said, ” Not yet. For now, we play the waiting game and watch Argon’s every move. When it’s time, I’ll let you know.”
“Alright, I will wait,” Tania listened.
Just like Tania, I was also eager to finalize all these drama with Argon, than pretending to care about him. But if not for Bane, who feels one has to be careful before making any move, I would have shown my true self a long time.
But no… I have to be wiser than them, and strike at the right moment.
.
The following morning, I was getting dressed for the day, only to be interrupted by a knock outside my room.
Bane already picked the scent of whoever it was, notifying me immediately.
“It’s Argon. He’s here with two guards, ” Bane said.
“Outside my room by this time? Isn’t he supposed to be at the office?” I brushed my hair, hearing the knock again, followed by Argon’s voice, which called out to me.
Bane scoffed and said, “Maybe he’s here to prove himself to you. Now that he rejected Estelle, he must be trying to draw nearer to you. Just answer the door and you’ll see.”
She sounded confident, and trust me I didn’t doubt her one bit.
All dressed, I walked up to the door and answered it. When I opened it wide, I found Argon and two guards, just as Bane had said, standing outside my room.
I lifted my brow before settling it on Argon. He just gave a big smile, greeting me. “How was your night? ”
“It was fine, ” I answered, glancing from one face to the other.
“Is there a problem?” I asked Argon, curious to know why he was at my door at this time.
All of a sudden, Argon ordered his guards, “Take all her things out from this room.”
“What?!” I exclaimed in shock, wondering what he was trying to do.
Argon noticed my reaction and immediately said to me, “You won’t be staying in this room any more. I’m moving you to a much better room.” He smiled.
A much better room? Now this is a confirmation to Bane’s words. My wolf was already cackling, asking if I heard him clearly.
“I told you, didn’t I? It’s a step by step work. Now he wants to remove you from the hole he once placed you in, and take you to a much better place, ” Bane said.
I was pleased to hear this, but I acted like one who wasn’t impressed, just to make Argon feel I didn’t like his plan.
“Don’t you like it? ” He asked noticing my mood.
I sighed and asked, looking at the guards, who were taking the little item I had, out of my room, “Is this some kind of game to mess with me?”
“No, it’s nothing like that. I swear to the goddess, ” He assured me, pointing to the heavens.
“Brielle… I’ve been thinking about everything and… Honestly, I don’t know how to say this, but what I did in the past was unfair to you. I wish to make an amend and give you the treatment you deserve. Just give me a chance to correct my mistakes, please,” He requested, joining his palms together.
I gazed at him, delighted to see how low he has become.
Come to think of it, I was already getting fed up of this oven called a room. I’ve been waiting for the time I’d leave this place, and now is the time.
Humming, I nodded at Argon, agreeing to his wish. He smiled and began to thank me, promising to do what is right.
But I immediately reminded him of my words, so he won’t think we’re friends. ” I don’t know what to say any more after the fight between you and Estelle last night. Does this mean the wedding is off as well?” I asked, tilting my head at him.
Argon didn’t give an answer to that. He just changed the topic by suggesting we leave Estelle aside and check out the room he prepared for me.
“It’s more comfortable, I promise,” He assured me, taking my hand in his grip.
I didn’t draw back but allowed him to hold me. He pulled me along, leading me out from the pathway.
