ARGON
“There was a hold up on my way here. But I’m glad I was able to make it,” Brielle said, letting out a smirk.
I was still surprised by her sudden entrance at the company. Not just that, but her outfit was… Waw!
She wore a suit that brought out her shape, with a green tie within, and her hair flowing down to her shoulder.
“Wow,” I uttered, staring at this woman who used to be my wife. She was looking more hot, sexy, and tough.
She looked more like the boss and not me.
And due to her sudden entrance, everyone began murmuring in astonishment.
“Isn’t that Luna Brielle?”
“Oh my goodness. She looks so pretty.”
“I thought he divorced her? Why is she here?” They all gossiped, staring at Brielle and I.
Despite their words, Brielle didn’t feel affected one bit. She stood strong, dropping her gaze on me with a smile across her face.
My heart glowed at the sight of this, watching Brielle taking action towards the situation.
“We’re sorry that your money got delayed. We were having an issue which took our precious time unexpectedly,” She said, lying to them.
But it was working out well.
“There was a delivery work taking place and we were waiting for the payment. Our client had a transfer problem, that’s why we couldn’t pay the money at the given time. It’s like he said…” She glanced my way, then back at the bank manager. “It was a minor setback, ” She stated, smiling at him.
With what Brielle had said, the bank manager nodded his head, showing his understanding to the situation.
“I get you, Luna. But he should have said so when we called. That way, we would have prevented all this.”
“Did you give him the chance?” Brielle questioned, lifting her brow at the manager.
“Sir, I heard your roars through the call yesterday. Argon tried to explain things to you, but you shunned him without giving him a chance. How do you expect him to speak at that point?” She asked, hitting the nail on the head so brilliantly.
I was amazed at how Brielle handled the situation, turning the tables around.
Everyone began to listen to her words, believing the bank was at fault for trying to shame me without hearing me out.
“Smart. I didn’t know she had this in her, ” Jerome commented right next to me, as we watched Brielle in action.
And at that moment… I felt proud.
I stared at Brielle, feeling my lips spreading into a smile as she kept on talking to the manager.
“You didn’t give him the chance to speak up, and here you are publicly shaming him for your own doing. That act was unprofessional,” She said, swaying her head in disappointment.
What she said got everyone talking. They were siding with Brielle and turning against the bank.
This is good!
Just as everything was going well…
“Luna Brielle,” Damien called, stepping forward to meet her, with a cunning smile across his face.
When I saw this, I immediately remembered what he had said about making Brielle his bride if he sees her.
That made my blood boil, as I thought of stopping him from getting closer to her.
“It’s an honor to finally meet you, ” He said, giving her a bow to show his fake respect.
Brielle smiled at Damien, tilting her head at his gentle nature.
“I’ve heard a lot about you and the pains you went through in the hands of your ex-husband. I was touched and bittered, ” He said, being dramatic before Brielle.
I groaned at his nonsense act, tightening my hand into a fist.
“And I also know that Argon here has a way of manipulating you into making people think you’re happy when you’re not. And I feel that’s what he’s doing now.”
“What?!” I uttered, getting angry at Damien’s words.
I almost stormed forward to meet him, but Jerome held me back, just to prevent me from causing a scene.
“Alpha, don’t,” Jerome said, pulling me back.
“Luna, if you are being forced to act like okay, please speak now. I am here to help you,” Damien offered, acting like the hero just to win both Brielle and my people’s trust.
I was going to spark at this mad man but was stunned by the feedback he got from Brielle.
“Do I look like someone who is chained like a goat?” She asked, dimming her eyes at Damien.
This surprised Damien who kept trying to sway Brielle his way.
“You don’t have to be scared of him. We are all here for you.”
“Tell me, what planet are you from? ” Brielle questioned Damien, leaving him astonished.
She lifted her arms and turned around for him to have a good look at her body. “Do I look like someone who is suffering? Did you see any Help sign around my neck?” She questioned, crossing her arms at Damien.
That question shunned Damien, leaving him staring in embarrassment.
” King Damien, thank you for your concern, but I am fine. Just because I am here to stop this madness you created, doesn’t mean Argon has placed me under an invisible chain you are exaggerating,” She fired, getting some of the crowds to chuckle at Damien in mockery.
I was so pleased by this.
She’s amazing.
But Damien wasn’t ready to give up. He glared at Brielle and asked, pointing at me, “Is that so? Tell us then… You said he wanted to tell the manager what the problem was, so why didn’t he just make a video like he did the first time?”
“That’s because I told him not to do anything,” Brielle replied Damien quickly.
“He wouldn’t have made that first post if you hadn’t dragged his name into the open, Damien. I was the one who told him not to answer anyone but wait for our client’s feedback, ” She explained confidently.
All the things she said bloomed my heart. She’s lying to everyone just to save me from the shame orchestrated by Damien.
“Brielle,” I uttered inaudibly, staring at her with emotions engulfing within my heart.
“Is that so?” Damien chuckled at Brielle’s words.
“A man who dumped you for a model, gave you the right to control him? Doesn’t it sound fishy? ” Damien asked loudly, facing the people.
“Isn’t this a sign that something is going on here? ” He said, trying to get the people to side with him.
And once again, Brielle handled it like a pro.
“Yes, he divorced me, but I didn’t sign the papers,” she responded.
Suddenly, she began walking towards me, with her gaze fixed at me. My eyes came locking with hers, until she was standing right at my left hand side, facing everyone, including Damien.
“He’s no longer my husband, but I am still the daughter in-law to his late father. And before he died, I made a promise to help Argon out in anyway I can. Isn’t that right, Argon?” She smirked at me, wrapping her arm across mine.
The moment she did that, I felt that strong vibration engulfing my whole body again. My heart came glowing on feeling that spark. It was… Beautiful.
I looked at Brielle and met her smiling at me with a light curve. That lifted my confidence immediately, sending my gaze directly on Damien.
I saw how he stared at mine and Brielle’s arms in disbelief. It was eating him up.
And to confirm her words, I said, “Yes, just as she said. She is still my father’s daughter. We may not be a couple any more, but we are friends.”
Seeing Brielle and I together, left both the press and my people shocked.
In fact, they believed everything Brielle had said after seeing how she boldly defended me. They could no longer speak ill of me. They were silent at last.
The bank manager and his assistant turned around and left in shame, now that the money has been paid.
Damien stared at us in anger, unable to accept his defeat. He was taken away by his partners, who couldn’t stand the fact that their plans didn’t work.
Seeing them leaving, Brielle said to me, pulling her arms away from mine, “Let’s go inside.”
She walked ahead of Jerome and I, making her way to the company.
My Beta and I stared at her from behind, still stunned by her amazing performance.
But that wasn’t the main thing clouding my mind. I need to know where she got that money to pay the bank.
“That amount is huge. Where did she get it from?”
When we stepped into my office, that was the first question I threw at Brielle.
“That money isn’t small. How were you able to get it? ” I asked her.
She sat on my table to face us, before giving the answer to the question.
“Do you remember Sir Derek? ” She asked.
“Sir Derek? Um… I have heard that name before, but can’t remember where.” I struggled to remember this person but couldn’t.
That’s when Brielle shared with me about this man I have no memory of.
“Sir Derek is your father’s friend. He was at our wedding and came to see me during the celebration. In fact, your father had introduced us, ” She said.
When she mentioned our wedding, flashes of that day came flooding my head.
Sir Derek! I remember that old man!
He’s not just a friend of my father but a wealthy billionaire with companies all around.
Forget the fact that my father has billions as well, this man is way more wealthier than us.
He has never spoken to me one on one, only when my father introduced us back then. I totally forgot about him all because of my desire to be seen as the best business man in the world, and because of my relationship with Estelle.
“I remember him. I thought he moved to Moon pack two years ago?” I asked Brielle.
She nodded and said, ” Yes, he did. That same man had promised to give me whatever I want as a wedding gift, if I am ready. And that day was today.”
She took out a piece of paper from her pocket and handed it over to me. “I got his contact from the councils, and we both talked.”
I looked at the piece in my hand and saw his name and number written boldly on it.
“Sir Derek agreed to buy the goods that your client rejected. He paid the money in advance and hopes to hear from you soon.”
“Really?” I was shocked.
My heart skipped at this surprising news from Brielle. The goods I’ve been struggling to sell for long, she got a buyer in one call, and just to save me?
“This is marvelous, Alpha! Your problem has been solved,” Jerome rejoiced, patting my shoulder.
I didn’t know if I should rejoice or break down at that point. My eyes kept falling on the woman I had never shown any love or care since the day we got married.
Her actions had weaken me to the core.
“Sir Derek isn’t an ordinary man. He’s a wealthy tycoon. He made her a promise years ago and she didn’t make use of it, until now. She would have achieved so much from Sir Derek’s gift, but why waste it on me?”
I kept staring at her, with a heavy heart. She just smiled and said, ” You better stay focus Argon, because we have a lot of work ahead of us.”
“Work?” I uttered, not getting her point.
That’s when Brielle revealed the offer Sir Derek had made aside from buying the goods.
He wants any batch of this same goods, but in a larger quantity this time around.
“If we can achieve this task, then say goodbye to bankruptcy, because Sir Derek will not only be your partner but will connect you with other business tycoons in his level, ” She shared.
Joy engulfed my Beta and I. This is a splendid news indeed!
The goddess has heard my cries. I finally have a chance to revive my father’s company and prove I’m not a failure.
I was so happy.
“Wait, did you say we? ” Jerome asked Brielle, picking out that pronoun from her statement.
I didn’t even about it until now.
“Yes, we. Argon, You, and I would be handling this task,” Brielle stated, making her decision clear to us.
“I am staying put until this company gets that partnership,” She said, stamping her hand on the table.
Her sudden dominance amused me. I no longer felt like the boss any more.
And to be honest, I wasn’t bothered about it, but … I loved it.
