ARGON
“That bastard! I swear I’m going to make him pay for what he did to me, ” I roared in anger, pacing about in my living room.
Jerome stood there, looking at me in shock. He was surprised at Damien’s attack on me.
“I should have seen this coming. That annoying man just offered to help you out of the blue and we didn’t think about it. Someone that hates you with all of his bones. Damn him!” Jerome groaned, sharing in my pain.
“I’m not going to allow them to make a fool out of me. They think I don’t have what it takes to run my business alone? Then I’m going to shock them. I’ll prove them wrong.”
I was fired up, thinking of a way to exact my revenge on Damien and all those old fools that left me to suffer on my own.
“How’s that order for CMD factory?” I asked Jerome, remembering the big order brought in by one of my company’s loyal customer.
Though they were already at the verge of abandoning me after hearing about my misfortune and how all my partners were leaving, they still chose to stay and gave me a chance.
“It’s under work, Alpha. It’s a big order, but the workers are pushing,” He shared the information.
I nodded at him, feeling the fire burning all over me. I know I can do this without those idiots. When they see the results and how powerful I’ve become, they’ll come crawling back to me.
“We can do it before this week ends. I’ve told the CEO of CMD that he’ll get his order this weekend. Tell the workers that they’ll have to spend their whole week at the factory until all the goods are set for delivery,” I ordered, passing the info to Jerome.
My beta found this plan uncomfortable for the workers, but still decided to do it.
“We’ll just throw in some bonuses to their pay, so they won’t feel we’re using their precious time for free, ” He said, making plans for an extra fee to their salary.
I didn’t mind about that since I wasn’t handling my workers salary. I was more concerned about putting all those that mocked me, down under my feet.
“Do whatever you feel is right, Jerome. We need to get those orders done before the D day.”
“No problem, Alpha,” Jerome said, bowing at me.
Since it was twelve noon, I decided to pay Estelle a visit. “She should be back from the hospital by now. I’ll just stop by to get her a gift or something,” I said, making my way out of the living room with my beta following.
On stepping out and heading for the exit, my eyes caught sight of Brielle exiting the mansion with Tania, her maid. The maid had a large basin with wet clothes in it, while Brielle followed her, talking.
When I saw her, my mind flashed back to what that crazy Lycan had said, about making her his queen.
That brought nothing but discomfort to my heart.
“Who does he think he is? He’s mad if he thinks I’d allow Brielle to near him. Even though I don’t like her, I don’t want her around an animal like him.” I groaned, walking towards the door with Jerome.
He was busy talking about the workers and the order, but my focus was on Brielle.
I came stepping out of the mansion, following her steps with my eyes.
She was helping Tania in spreading her clothes, laughing at whatever they were talking about.
Her laughter suddenly engulfed me, leaving my body hot in an instance. I kept gazing at her with my steps slowing down, as I smiled at her every move.
But that feeling came skyrocketing when Brielle’s gaze fell on me.
She saw me.
Quickly, I looked away, pretending to be searching for something in my pocket. I don’t want her thinking I’m spying on her.
“Are you okay?” Jerome asked noticing my sudden behavior.
I looked at him and nodded. “I was just checking for something,” I lied. My hands didn’t even enter the pocket. It was just touching my sides and that was all.
“I’ll leave now. ”
“Okay. Do send my greetings to Alpha Deron and Luna Estelle.”
“Sure,” I promised, getting into my car.
While driving out, I took another look at Brielle, watching how she spread the clothes on the line with happiness all over her face.
And just then, her eyes came falling at my direction, looking at me as I drove pass the mansion.
I would have looked away and pretended not to have seen her, but my whole body shivered when Brielle smirked at me.
I wasn’t expecting that.
My body froze until my car passed by, losing sight of her. I suddenly stopped the car, trying to get myself.
That vibration was back. My heart was pumping.
There was a sudden flow of desire that took over me, tempting me to reverse back and look at Brielle again.
“Wait… What is wrong with me?!” I stopped
A slap to my forehead, I reminded myself about Estelle. “Go and see her before you start getting calls from her father. You don’t want him to think you don’t care about his daughter.”
Getting myself back on track, I drove off, heading for Red wood pack.
When I got to Estelle’s home, she threw herself on me, expressing how much she missed me.
“You didn’t even come over to the hospital to get me, ” She complained, frowning at me.
I had to apologize to her, telling her about my work load. “I have lots of work on ground, that’s why I didn’t show up,” I explained, but didn’t speak about my current situation.
“At least you’re here. Estelle has been asking of you non stop. I just told her to be patient and wait. And see, you came, ” Alpha Deron chuckled.
I smiled at him, holding Estelle close since she was sitting on my laps, burying herself in my hold.
“I got you this flower. I hope you don’t mind, ” I said, giving Estelle the bouquet of red roses I bought on my way.
She smiled at the flower and thanked me for it. “It’s pretty, Argon. But a diamond necklace would have been better if you want more than a thanks, ” She smiled, dropping the flower aside like it’s nothing.
Her father laughed at this while I just stared, unable to express my reaction to her behavior.
“A diamond necklace? You don’t like the flowers I got you? ” I asked Estelle.
She just shrugged and said. ” Flowers… It’s not my kind of thing. You know how much I love jewelries. Well, leave that aside, my love. I just want you to hold me, that’s all, ” She said, wrapping her arms around my neck.
I hummed with a curve, agreeing to what she wanted.
I took one look at the flower and back at Estelle. She didn’t care about my gift.
“Flowers I got to show my love to her, she dumped it aside? Even if I want to get her this diamond necklace she’s asking for, I can’t give that to her at this moment,” I reasoned, thinking of my current state.
I am trying my best to save the remaining money and also find a way to bounce back at the top. And here she’s asking for a diamond necklace?
“I’ll leave you love birds alone,” Alpha Deron said, leaving Estelle and I in the bedroom.
All Estelle has been doing was talking about herself and how stinky the hospital was for her. She never asked about my day or what I’m facing. Everything was about her.
I stayed with her until the evening, before getting into my car and driving back to Wolf Crest.
At the passenger seat of my car, was a bouquet of green roses meant for Brielle. Since I was getting flowers for Estelle, I decided to cease the opportunity to get Brielle her own as well. But after what Estelle did with the flowers, I didn’t feel like giving Brielle hers.
Besides, she might think I’m only trying to win her trust after all the warnings she gave to me.
“I’ll just toss it when I get home, ” I decided.
Arriving at the mansion, I took the flower out of the car and handed it to a maid to throw it away.
“Put it in the trash, ” I ordered, stepping into the mansion.
When I went into my room to freshen up and came down stairs for dinner, I was surprised to find the green rose flower in a vase, placed on the dining table.
“What is this doing here? ” I asked out loudly, waiting to get an answer from anyone.
That’s when I heard from behind. “I see no reason why you would throw an innocent flower into the trash.”
Hearing the voice, I turned back and saw Brielle standing at the entrance, crossing her arms.
I was surprised. Was she the one who placed the flower here?
“You bought the flower, so why give it such a harsh treatment?” She questioned, drawing closer to the table and attending to the flowers.
“Take responsibility for your actions. Give life to this innocent beauty. You just gave it to someone to dump it in the trash. That’s not right,” She scolded me, dressing the roses.
When I saw this, I felt a spark in my heart just watching how she took care of it. Something Estelle couldn’t do for the red roses I got for her.
Lowering my head down with my hand finding it’s way to the back of my neck, I said to Brielle, “I thought you would reject it if I brought it to you. I didn’t want you thinking I got the flower for something in return.”
Brielle paused what she was doing and looked at me. Her brow lifting, before settling it back on the green rose.
That’s when she scoffed out, resuming with what she was doing.
“Keep them coming, Farmer Argon. I have no issues with flowers after all,” She said, teasing me.
I was flushed by her words. She just called me a farmer.
My face came glowing, causing me to chuckle out. And that brought a smirk on Brielle’s face.
“Its fine if you want to give me flowers. I’m okay with it. I’ll just place it around the mansion, so it’ll look like you’re growing a farm house. ”
She got to her feet, walking pass me.
“Let me know when you want to start bringing in cows. We can sacrifice one of the rooms for them,” She chuckled, leaving the dining room.
Even though she was being sarcastic with her words, I still felt pleased. At least, she was talking to me better than before.
