BRIELLE
“Washing? This is the one chores that I hate. We Ivys don’t do works like this. Soon, you’ll stop all these and give those helpers to do it,” Bane complained while I washed my clothes.
But I just laughed it off, finding this small work not a big deal for me.
“I’m used to it already. And besides, these are my own clothes. I can’t allow anyone else to touch it, especially at this time. I don’t trust anyone,” I said, revealing my distrust for everyone in the mansion.
“Yeah, everyone except for Tania. I can sense her presence. She should be entering here right about…”
“Luna!” Tania called from the entrance of the washroom.
When I turned back at the door, I saw how she zoomed in without control.
“Luna I have… AHH!”
“Tania!” I exclaimed at the speed she used in diving in.
Her leg had slipped on the wet floor, sending her meeting the wall. I had to cover my mouth at the sudden impact.
“Are you okay?” I asked with concern, getting to my feet to check up on her. She had met the wall with her left side, shrieking out at the impact.
Tania groaned, leaping like an old lady to my point. “It hurts. My waist. But it’s worth it.”
“Hahaha! ” Bane laughed. She almost got me laughing out too, but I held it back.
Tania had noticed my swollen cheek. With just a few blinks at each other, we both cackled out loudly.
“I am so sorry, Tania.”
“Like I said, it’s totally worth it. I’ll be fine.”
“But why were you running like that? ” I asked, escorting her towards the little stool i was sitting on.
The moment I placed her on the stool, Tania whispered, “I just heard a juicy information from Alpha Argon’s room. I think he’s fighting with Estelle.”
“Really?” My eyes came large with delight.
To make sure I hear every details, I rushed to the door and immediately closed the door shut. I wasn’t feeling any presence close by for now, but I could still sense some servants roaming about.
Once it was shut, I came squatting next to Tania, seeking for this juicy info she wants to share with me.
“I’m all ears.”
She drew closer and began to tell me about Argon’s plans for his and Estelle’s wedding.
“He told her he wants a break and needs to get himself. Estelle screamed like hell, asking why he wants to pause their wedding,” Tania demonstrated, acting the way she had seen them in the room.
I know it was funny, but I was getting the picture.
“She begged him not to think like that, but he still refused. She began crying and was set to run out of the room, that’s how I came racing down here to gist you, ” She said, grinning at me.
From what she had said so far, I could tell what Argon was trying to do.
“So, the wedding is on hold now, huh? Well, that’s fine to the ears. It’ll give me more time to do all that I want. You’ve done well, Tania, ” I appreciated, patting her head.
She smiled at me like a little girl, before suggesting to resume with the washing on my behalf.
“Maybe that way my hip bone will stretch out. I think I broke it,” She groaned, holding her waist.
That got me laughing again.
I didn’t mind her taking over from where I stopped or even washing my clothes. I trust her very well.
“Keep on giving me any info you get about them, okay?”
“You can trust me on that, Luna,” She smiled with assurance.
I was pleased to have someone like her by my side. Trust me, her reward is going to be massive.
.
A few minutes later, I was sitting in the dinning room with my legs crossed, eating a plate of snacks I made.
“The prey is slowly losing his guard. Should we strike now?” I asked Bane with my mind, munching on my snack.
She hummed, saying, ” Not yet, but we will, very soon. We need to be sure he’s wide opened before we set in. I can sense a lot of opportunities my sweet Brielle.”
She chuckled devilishly, blooming my heart. I bless the goddess for unleashing my wolf to me. It has been the best thing ever in my life.
Suddenly…
“Luna Brielle,” Someone called my name from the door. There was no need to look and see who it was. I could tell from the scent.
It was Beta Jerome. From the corners of my eyes, he stood with his hands behind his back, before stepping fully into the dining room.
“Alert! Moron number three is here, ” Bane announced, groaning at Jerome’s presence.
“How are you doing, Luna?” I heard.
“Luna?” I uttered that word, lifting my head to look at the Beta, who has always been by his Alpha’s side like glue.
“Did you just call me Luna?” I asked lifting my brow at him.
“Are you surprised? That’s what you are, isn’t that right? ” He smiled, stepping closer to the table.
My lips came crawling with a smirk, chuckling lightly at Jerome’s words.
“I’m surprised, that’s why I’m asking. As far as I remember, you stopped calling me that after Argon filed for a divorce. So, why this out of nowhere?”
My smiles faded, replaced by a serious gaze. I saw how Jerome’s own smile grew large, chuckling out at my words.
“Fake! A wider grin like that says he’s here for something,” Bane pointed out to me.
I took note of this, listening to Jerome, who claimed he never forgot to call me by my title.
“You have been the Luna even till now. As long as you’re still here, you are… The Luna.”
“Oh really?” I tilted my head in amusement while he nodded with more smiles.
“Yes, really.”
“Hmm. That’s nice of you, Beta. Thank you for never forgetting that. But as you know…” I dropped my leg down to face my snacks properly, munching on it with pleasure.
“Your Alpha has already divorced me by signing those papers. I am just the late Alpha’s daughter-in-law, and not Argon’s Luna. So, no need for you to call me that. Estelle is the new Luna.”
“Oh, you are still my Luna. In fact…”
He suddenly pulled his hands from behind, revealing a pink wrapped gift, placing it on the table before me.
“I got this for you, to show my loyalty to you, Luna Brielle.”
“What is this? ” I questioned, lifting my brow at the wrapped box in my front.
Jerome responded with a smile, saying, “It’s a gift from me to you, my Luna. Open it and see.” He gestured at the box.
Not to disappoint him, I took the box in my hold and opened it up. When I looked inside, I met a nice good looking pink dress, designed with gold lining to bring out the beauty.
“You like it, don’t you? I took it upon myself to get this for you,” He explained, still pointing at the box.
I hummed, still staring at the dress in the box but didn’t pull it out. I left it there, saying, ” It’s nice, but I don’t want it.”
“But why, Luna? This dress is so beautiful. It has your name written all over it.”
“Really?!” My eyes grew large at his words, almost stretching my head to a great length.
“LIAR! LIAR ALERT!! Tell him to show you where the name is written let me see it or I’ll poke his eyes out!” Bane sparked out.
Jerome was still describing the length he took in getting the dress for me. But I’m no fool.
“Jerome, thank you so much for undergoing such a heartbreaking journey to get me this dress,” I said, sarcastically.
And it was clear from his face that he noticed my sarcasm.
“Beta, I know why you are giving me this, and I really don’t appreciate it.”
“What do you mean? Why do you think I’m giving you…”
“I know what is happening, Jerome. I know about the Councils decision on Argon,” I interrupted at once.
He froze on his spot, unable to speak further.
Taking the last piece of my snack, I said, rising to my feet, ” Look, I have no interest in what happens in Argon’s life anymore. That was then when I’d stress myself for someone who doesn’t give a damn about me. I have changed. I all I want is for him to pick a wedding date and let me finish my work before leaving.”
“Luna, it’s not like that. My gift isn’t a means to…”
“It’s fine if you can’t admit it, but I won’t take it. Besides, I’m still good with my old clothes,” I said, smiling at him.
He thinks I don’t know what exactly he wants from me. I am not stupid any more. I can see right though him.
He thinks I’ll accept that dress so he can just come over the next time to get me to forgive Argon?
He needs work.
“I think it’ll be nice on the lady you choose to marry. She’s going to love you, ” I giggled, walking out on him.
“A lady he’ll marry? In his dream. How about he wears it like a trophy? That way people will know how he struggled to get it, ” Bane mocked.
I giggled at Bane’s words, exiting the kitchen.
She’s bad, but I like her.
