ARGON
Today is the D day. My Estelle will be showing off her skills tonight at the Modelling show at Red Wood pack.
I have been so excited, just thinking about how she’d walk down the runway, looking so beautiful and captivating.
In order not to miss her show, I made sure all my staffs took up every pending work, while I got myself ready to leave the company early.
“I need to be there on time and show my support. I’ll have to change into something nice before heading over there,” I planned, adjusting my suit properly.
“Wait, where’s the gift?” I asked, hovering my eyes around my desk.
There was a special gift I got for Estelle without her knowledge. It’s what I want to present to her after the show, to show my love and support in her career.
But it seems I forgot it back at the mansion.
“Shoot! Well, at least I was planning on heading back to get changed,” I chuckled, grabbing my car keys and phone, making my way out of the office.
As I journeyed to the exit, I noticed a sudden expression on my staff’s faces. They all looked at me… Weirdly.
“What’s up with them?” I wondered, finally taking my attention off their point.
Suddenly, my pocket began to vibrate, indicating a call on my phone. I was already getting closer to the entrance when it rang out, only for my eyes to spot a group of people outside my company gate, yammering out loudly.
“What is going on out there? ” I drew closer, ignoring the ringing phone, just to know what was happening outside.
My security guards were already pushing this crowds back, who turned out to be…
“The press?” I was surprised.
“Why are the press here? Oh, could it be that they still need more reports from the business man of the year? ” I smirked with pride, gladly stepping out of the building to meet my fans.
“There he is!”
“It’s Alpha Argon!”
They yelled, calling out to me. The security guards kept pushing them back so they won’t near me.
Feeling so proud of myself, I almost ordered the guards to leave the press and let them be, only for me to hear the most shocking report ever.
“How long have you been dating Alpha Deron’s daughter behind your wife’s back? ”
“What?!” My eyes came large at this question thrown at me.
Where did they hear this from?
To my horror, they all threw more questions about my affair with Estelle and how cruel I was for cheating on Brielle.
This is unbelievable! Am I dreaming?!
“Where did you hear all… these nonsense from? Who… told you?” I stammered, still in shock.
“You don’t have to hide it from us, Alpha. Your lover told us herself.”
“What? ” I was stunned.
Estelle told them the truth about us?
That can’t be true.
“You all are saying rubbish. I am not cheating on my wife. Alpha Deron’s daughter is my friend,” I claimed, trying to get everyone to believe me.
But they didn’t.
In fact, they had enough proof to show I was lying.
A video was shown by one of the press in the crowds, of Estelle abusing Brielle at her rehearsal.
I was astonished!
But I asked her how the rehearsal went and she said it was fine. I still remember asking her if she controlled her mood around Brielle and did as I ordered, she confirmed that too.
But it was all a lie.
Estelle lied to me.
“What do you have to say now, Alpha?”
“You and your lover have been secretly abusing that innocent woman, and making her fake happiness in public!”
“You are a disgrace to your people! A disgrace!!”
They roared at me, raising insults from every corner.
Their echoes triggered nothing but discomfort in my heart, sending my feet drifting back from the guards with my eyes still on this angry mob.
“Estelle, what have you done?”
With no way to go, I returned back into the company to figure a way out of this mess and reach out to Jerome for assistance.
“Did she really tell them about us? How could she do this to me?!”
I stormed in and met my Staffs looking at me like earlier.
“What?! Why are you staring like morons?! Get back to work! ” I shouted at all of them. They immediately resumed with their tasks, still stealing glances at me.
I was getting restless by this sudden shock. My whole body was beginning to heat up.
I rushed to my office and took out my phone to reach my Beta. That’s when I saw his missed call. He was the one calling earlier.
Quickly, I called him back, pacing about the office while waiting for him to pick up.
The moment I heard his voice, I shared immediately, “Jerome, there’s a problem. The press are outside the company accusing me of having an affair with Estelle. I don’t know how this started or… ”
“I know,” Jerome said, surprising me on the spot.
“You know? How?” I asked, feeling my whole body shivering.
That’s when Jerome revealed the news he watched and how Estelle openly confessed our feelings to the public.
My eyes bulged out on hearing this.
“It’s on the net, Alpha. The media didn’t hesitate to spread the rumor. They all think you are cheating on Brielle and feel you want to replace her with Estelle.”
“No, no, no! This can’t be happening!” I panicked, checking the internet while still on call with my Beta.
Lo and behold, the news was there. I saw how Estelle boldly revealed the truth, telling everyone that I already divorced Brielle to be with her.
Is she mad?!
This wasn’t the plan!
The plan was to portray Brielle as the bad person by making them think she wants to leave me. Why did Estelle do this?!
“This is a problem now, Alpha. I was trying to call you because the Council members have demanded to see you now.”
“What?!” I gasped, getting a sudden skip in my chest.
The council members! Damn it! I forgot about them.
Jerome shared the notice from the council members and advised I go and meet them before the matter gets worst.
I had no other choice.
I have to report myself to them and look for a way to explain this situation.
“Estelle!” I groaned after disconnecting the call with Jerome, storming out of my office to answer the call from the members.
Again, I met my staffs staring at me in mockery. It was now I understood their constant gaze. They had seen the news of my affair with Estelle.
Now they must think their Alpha is cruel and disgusting.
I couldn’t stand this.
Quickly, I left the company and got into my car. The press where still outside, demanding to hear from me.
“Get them out of my way! ” I yelled at the security guards, who began to push the press away, paving an opening for me to drive off.
“You are a terrible Alpha!”
“You don’t deserve to be called an Alpha!!”
They roared.
I had to force myself to stay focus, driving out from the premises.
.
“You are a disgrace to your father and your people?!” One of the council members yelled at me.
I was standing before them in the court room of the pack, while they sat in their high seat, talking ill of me.
“This is the first time an Alpha of Wolf Crest would commit such an atrocity, shaming his pack before other packs! Is this how you want to lead your people?”
I had my head bowed in respect, taking in their harsh words.
I may be the Alpha, but the council members have the power to decide if I am worthy to be called an Alpha or not.
“Your father passed his throne over to you, thinking his son would do what is right and live by his example. But No! You decided to have an affair outside your marriage with Alpha Deron’s daughter! That model!”
“What do you have to say for yourself, young man?!” They questioned.
Lifting my head a bit, I said, “My council, it’s not what you think.”
“Then it’s what?!” They interrupted.
I sighed, trying to compose myself and speak with respect. “I know you are offended by what you heard and saw, but I promise you this, I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Cheating on your wife isn’t wrong? Tell us, Alpha Argon. Do you now consider cheating on your wife as a good thing? ”
“No, that’s not what I meant, ” I tried to explain, but they wouldn’t listen.
They portrayed Brielle as the victim and me as the enemy. This is what I’ve been afraid of. They will feel I’m unfit, and without their support, my people will turn their backs against me.
“How could you do this to that poor woman? What crime has she committed in being your wife?”
“That sweet lovely girl that can’t even harm a fly. You want to abandon her for someone like Estelle?”
They questioned, showing their bitterness to what was going.
I was engulfed with heat while listening to them. They now see me as a monster.
Unable to stand this, I said, “You know very well that Brielle was never the woman I wanted. All these wouldn’t have taken place if you had allowed me to pick the woman I wanted. ”
“And as far as I remember, Alpha Argon, your father gave you that chance before your wedding with Brielle. What did you do?” The female member questioned.
She wasn’t wrong. Father did give me a chance to speak or remain quiet forever.
“You told him you will marry Brielle, since that was his wish. Did anyone tie you down? Did anyone chain you, Alpha?”
I lowered my head in shame, still thinking of what to say. I can’t allow them to view me as the enemy. I am the Alpha.
“And worst, you even filed for a divorce to get rid of that poor soul. Oh Goddess!”
“I didn’t. It… It was… Brielle,” I stammered out my lie. Even hearing myself, I sounded foolish.
The councils didn’t buy my words, believing Estelle and I came up with this scheme.
It was beginning to choke me down.
“We will not believe this nonsense of yours until we hear from Brielle herself.”
“You can leave now.”
“Leave!”
I was ordered out by the council members, who pointed at the exit, waiting for me to leave their sight. My whole world came crumbling before my eyes.
Everything is ruined.
“Until they hear from Brielle? This isn’t good, ” I panicked while leaving the court room.
My whole body was beginning to shiver after going through that awful meeting with the council members.
And this is all because of Estelle.
This is all her fault.
