“I’m not, but I know a bit about medicine,” Kayden replied nonchalantly. In truth, his medical skills were unparalleled in this bustling city.
Leah rubbed her foot, pouting, “Alright then.”
“By the way, you treated Matthew so bad just now and he won’t let you off easily,” Leah warned kindly. “Matthew’s family is wealthy, and he owns a lot of connections. He even knows Freddie Lawson, the mob boss of a few streets around here.”
“Oh, really? Good,” Kayden responded, uninterested in these childish topics.
Seeing Kayden’s indifferent attitude, Leah became anxious and quickly said, “I think you won’t believe it until you face the consequences. They are really scary and ruthless.”
“A while ago, a classmate claimed he was the toughest in the senior year. Freddie called him out and taught him a lesson. That classmate is still in the hospital. Everyone at school knows Freddie is not someone they can mess with,” Leah explained.
From these words, Kayden could tell Leah joined the cheer-leading squad to cozy up to the school’s tough guys.
Kayden turned to look at the innocent Leah and asked, “Can’t you tell Matthew wants to sleep with you?”
Kayden’s way of speaking was straightforward and blunt. His ability to read people was beyond the reach of the average person. He had a knack for seeing through people’s intentions at a glance.
Kayden’s words made Leah’s face turn bright red.
“Stop talking nonsense. I think you’re the one with intentions. I’ve told you to forget the past, but you just don’t listen,” she said, a pure and naive girl, unaware of the world’s dangers.
“Stay away from him in the future, or you’ll be the one to suffer,” Kayden advised kindly.
Leah snorted and asked, “Why should I trust you?”
Suddenly, Kayden stepped on the brake as several cars with high beams approached.
The sudden brake caused Leah to fall onto Kayden. She landed on him, and Kayden instinctively raised his hands to hold her.
Like a startled bird, Leah quickly lifted her head. Their eyes met, and she realized her body was completely pressed against Kayden’s, even her breasts.
Leah cried out, clutching her chest. “You pervert!”
Kayden helplessly looked at Leah and said, “You fell on me, okay?”
Leah retorted, “You just said Matthew has ulterior motives. But I think you can’t forget about me feeding you ice cream.”
Kayden shook his head bitterly and said, “Focus on the present. We might be in trouble.”
He said this because he saw several people getting out of the approaching cars, led by Matthew, who was driving a Porsche earlier.
“Matthew!” Leah exclaimed in shock.
Kayden casually said, “It’s okay. You just stay in the car.”
As Kayden was about to get out, Leah grabbed his arm and said, “No, Matthew was in the army and practiced boxing. He’s very strong; he can take on several men alone!”
“Don’t worry. They’re just trash,” Kayden smiled confidently.
He got out of the car, looking cool, but Leah could foresee his cool face would soon be replaced by a beaten one, because Matthew wasn’t his only enemy; Freddie was standing by Matthew’s side.
Leah followed Kayden out of the car.
“Matthew, what are you doing?” Leah shouted at Matthew.
Matthew looked at Leah and said, “This is none of your business. Stay out of it. This is a man’s business.”
“Are you Leah’s boyfriend?” Matthew asked Kayden with a stern look.
Hearing this, Leah almost choked, angrily saying, “Matthew, are you crazy? Do you think I’m blind? Would I choose someone that old?”
Matthew said nothing as a blond guy with an earring, looking like a thug, walked up. Holding a cigarette, he acted like the king of Hiphia, saying, “Hey, beauty, why don’t you date me instead? You’re pretty. I wouldn’t mind having you as my fifth girlfriend.”
He deliberately flipped his hair, looking foolish like a groundhog, making Leah feel sick.
“Freddie, you got it wrong. This girl is mine. I want her!” Matthew corrected quickly, laughing. “If it weren’t for that idiot, I would’ve succeeded today.”
It was just as Kayden had said, Matthew had bad intentions towards her. Leah looked at Kayden apologetically.
Kayden sighed and said, “Alright, don’t waste my time. All of you come at me at once.”
He didn’t want to waste too much time when facing such trash.
“You son of a bitch!” Freddie shouted, throwing his cigarette to the ground. “I’ve never seen such an arrogant jerk! Guys, go break his hands!”
As soon as he finished speaking, his men rushed at Kayden. Kayden took a few light steps forward, looking as if a strong wind could blow him away.
‘It’s over, Kayden’s definitely getting beaten.’ Leah thought.
Just then, she heard a bone snap. She saw someone fall to the ground in pain, his hand broken.
In about forty seconds, all the attackers were on the ground, moaning in pain, their hands broken.
Leah was stunned. ‘Was this real?’ She wondered if she was dreaming.
Freddie, still holding his unlit cigarette, was shocked. Before he could speak, Kayden’s cold face scared him. The next moment, his hand was broken with a crack.
Kayden then turned his attention to Matthew. Matthew, sobered up by fear, stuttered as he heard the screams of pain from those who were lying on the ground, “Who are you? Don’t hurt me. My dad is Ethan Williamson.”
Matthew screamed, falling to the ground, his hand broken.
Kayden didn’t say a word throughout the process. For him, it was as easy as breathing. He turned to the stunned Leah and said, “Let’s go home.”
