They stared at each other for two seconds before Wayne’s deep baritone voice resounded in the dungeon.
“Come here,” he said to her. She felt chills running down her spine and she gulped. She glanced at everyone in the room and they all seemed to be waiting for her to obey her mate’s command. She pinned her lips together and looked back at Wayne who was leaning in his signature position; him sitting in a slanted way, with his head titled to the side and his knuckles supporting the side of his face.
Olive overlooked all the faces in the room which were staged on her and she began to walk towards her mate. She reached him and he held out his hand for her to hold. Taking her slender fingers in his, he pulled her gently and she sat on his laps.
“Wayne, what is…” she trailed off when she saw his face coming towards hers. Slowly and smoothly, the Big Bad Alpha placed his lips on hers and drew her closer to himself. There was an eruption of shouts behind them as his men made sounds of excitement.
They all went, “Whoooah.”
Was this the first time they kissed in their presence? Olive wondered.
“Man! Damn it… I need a girlfriend,” of course that was from Shem. Jericho who was standing beside him punched him in the shoulder. Dolly however rolled her eyes.
“Come on, guys. It’s just a kiss,” she stated and crossed her arms. Olive and Wayne were still kissing and it was even gaining more intensity. Creating those steamy sounds, making the others grow uncomfortable.
“Let’s excuse them for the second time today. Before I myself start looking for my mate,” Jake joked and they laughed and began to walk out.
Before they made it to the door, Terry glanced at the two lovers who didn’t care what was happening around them anymore except their make out. He shook his head.
“Hey,” Dolly’s voice said to him. He blinked repeatedly and saw her walking side by side with him as they got out through the door.
“Dolly,” he said her name and she smiled.
“I wanted to thank you,” she stated and he furrowed his brows.
“Thank me for what?” he asked and she chuckled.
“For staying by my door for hours. You know, looking out for me. Well, I’m sorry I ignored you throughout though. I was just… I don’t know. I was just-”
“It’s fine. I understand,” Terry cut her short and gave her a small smile.
“I still feel really bad though. How about I make up for that?”.
“You don’t have to, Dolly.”
“No. I want to.”
He exhaled.
“Then what do you have in mind? How are you going to make up for it?” he inquired with a smirk, but eager to hear what she was going to say.
“Hmmm. How about… dinner?” she asked and he stopped walking immediately with his face in a shock.
They were already outside of the building which led to Mufasa’s dungeon so they were in the open.
The sky was lit up by a moon that was almost half size and stars twinkled by her side.
The other men had walked quite a distance already and were almost reaching the castle building itself.
Terry looked at Dolly as if he didn’t understand or even hear what she just uttered from her mouth.
“Di… dinner?” he asked and she nodded.
“How about dinner?” she repeated her earlier question. Terry gulped and scratched his head that was suddenly so itchy.
He couldn’t believe he was thinking things already in just a few seconds. By dinner, she must have meant that he joined them in the dining room of the castle and eat. Or, she would buy his dinner like they usually rotate around themselves sometimes in the Circular Cabinet. He couldn’t believe he had thought something else.
“Please, Dolly. You really don’t have to do anything. I know you want to buy me dinner or invite me upstairs to eat with you guys. But I’m not cut for any of them. All right? Don’t worry,” he stated.
“That’s-”
“-And I already have plans this entire week,” Terry unknowingly said while Dolly was also trying to say something. He only realized after he was done saying his own.
“You already have evening plans? This whole week?” Dolly questioned with bulging eyes.
“Yes. The Mating Ritual is less than two weeks away now. So many orders from Alpha regarding all the preparations,” he answered.
“Oh,” she drawled in a disappointed tone.
“And I was actually planning to take you to a fancy restaurant for that dinner. I got a two-seat free dinner slot and wanted to just take you along. It’s disappointing you’ll be busy this week,” Dolly said in a sad voice. Terry’s eyes widened.
“Wait… you mean dinner. Like, dinner dinner?”
Dolly blinked her eyes repeatedly as she didn’t understand what he meant.
“I’m not busy anymore,” he added instantly and Dolly shifted backwards. He realized he was overacting already so he cleared his throat.
“When is the dinner?” he asked in a more refrained voice.
“In three days,” she answered. He scratched his head again and gulped down.
“All right. I’ll see if I can wriggle out some time to go out with you.”
Wait, what did he just say? Why did that sound like he was the husband of an attention demanding wife?
“Okay. Thanks. See you tomorrow,” she smiled at him before she began to walk away.
“Yeah, see you tomorrow,” he mumbled more to himself than to her. As he watched her receding back, he gulped down and ruffled his hair.
Why was he overacting earlier?

Olive tugged onto Wayne’s hair as she kissed his lips like her mind depended on it. They had been together hours ago, but it felt like they hadn’t seen or felt each other for a year.
Wayne would pull her closer by her waist and pull her back towards him too. He wanted to just merge with her. Nothing else felt enough.
“Wayne,” Olive call softly as she felt his fingers grazing her nape. She was getting the shivers all over and was just lost in the pleasure and peace of having a mate.
“That’s it, enough!” Mufasa’s voice rang loudly and Olive flinched. She unlocked from Wayne and turned to look at Mufasa who was standing in that same position he had been before Wayne called her. He was reading something in that book of his and was holding a pen which he was using to scribble some more things down.
Olive was surprised to see him standing there by a shelf. She had thought everyone left after hearing slightly that they were going to excuse them.
Wayne was very displeased with the interruption so he looked towards the old man and glared daggers at him.
“You can now take your leave and restore the serenity of my dungeon, thank you very much. I’m too old to watch you children do whatever it is you think you’re doing,” Mufasa nagged.
“Didn’t you say I should get her laid?” Wayne teased.
“In your bedroom, Knight. Not in the middle of my hall. That would be very uncomfortable.”
Olive laughed and jumped off her mate.
“We apologize, Mufasa. Come on, Waynie. Let’s go,” she directed at Wayne and pulled him up.
“See you tomorrow, Mufasa,” Alpha Knight said and they both walked out the hall. They bade Ami goodnight and stepped under the moonlight.
All of a sudden, Alpha Knight grabbed Olive and threw her unto his shoulder, holding firmly to her thighs against him. Olive yelped and giggled as she dangled over him.
“Put me down, Waynie! That shove my ass in people’s faces!” she protested. He chuckled deeply and transferred her to his arms, bridal style instead.
“Only because of your last statement,” he said and winked at her. Olive smiled and looked towards the castle. Then she saw three men approaching wearing military uniforms. The way they walked showed power and might, indicating they were not just low ranking officers. Especially the man in front. He looked fierce, calculated and dangerous making Olive’s wolf instincts want to bow down to him.
The man sighted them, and his eyes trailed down to Olive before going back to the Alpha.
They reached them, stopped and bowed to the Alpha. Wayne gently dropped Olive and made her stand beside him.
“General Kalif,” Wayne called the man in front.
“I must say it’s been awhile, Alpha Knight,” General Kalif pronounced, his voice a deep, vibratory baritone that made shivers skip down Olive’s back.
“Yes. With the final examinations of the army school going on, I believe you’ve been more there than here.”
“Yes, Alpha. You are correct.”
General Kalif’s eyes trailed down to Olive again. She stood straight and looked him back in the eye with a half smile on her face. No showing of weakness in front of an obvious predator no matter what, or you’ll be fed upon like a prey.
“I believe this is the beautiful woman who our Alpha was blessed with,” he directed at her. Olive smiled a little brighter and dipped her head in respect.
“General Kalif, I’d like you to meet my mate and future Luna of Balendin Pack, Olive,” Wayne introduced.
“Olive, this is Major General Kalif. Chief General and Number One in Command of the Balendin Pack Armed Forces.”
“A pleasure meeting you, Olive.”
“A pleasure meeting you too, General Kalif.”
General Kalif nodded at her and returned his eyes to Alpha Knight.
“We’ll see soon,” he said curtly and walked away with his men behind him. Olive felt she could finally breathe now that he was away from before her.
“Let’s go,” she said. Wayne nodded and they began to walk.
Alpha Knight furrowed his brows. The aura General Kalif just exuded was different. Something was brewing-he felt it.
