Going To See Dolly

Book:Mated To The Big Bad Alpha Published:2024-9-7

Olive got out of the shower and wrapped a light blue towel around her body. She stepped out of the bathroom and walked towards her vanity. Wayne had gone back to Mufasa’s dungeon after an urgent call. He said he was also going to tell him about the connection between him and Lord Lina and how to severe it completely.
Olive had waited for him to come but he was taking so long and she suspected they were tackling whatever it was on their table. She decided to just patiently wait for her mate to come.
As she got ready, she felt hungry and decided to just eat the noodles Dolly had given her. That was what made her remember that Dolly had walked out on them earlier in Mufasa’s dungeon. She froze and stood still for a few seconds before exhaling deeply. She had to go and see Dolly and clarify whatever it was she was saying earlier.
Wayne had seemed really annoyed with her. But she had looked broken. Who was it that The Vrek Cult murdered? And why?
Olive hastily wore a dress and didn’t even bother to brush her hair. She wore shoes and hurried out of the bedroom. As she was almost walking through the receiving hall, she stopped and looked towards the kitchen. Something in her guts told her that Dolly had been locked up in her room ever since then, probably still crying. She would be really famished by now.
So, Olive walked into the kitchen and took two cups of ramen noodles. She microwaved it then took two juice boxes from the fridge. Olive chuckled at the thought that the Big Bad Alpha actually liked juice and even had tons of it in his fridge. She also noticed that most of them were orange juice.
In a plastic bag, Olive took the noodle cups and chopsticks while the juice boxes were in a smaller plastic bag. She walked out through the exit doors and she could feel the eyes of the guards tailing her until she walked out of the hallway. She knew Wayne had given them strict orders concerning her. And she would not be surprised if they actually followed her around.
She took the stairs to Dolly’s room floor and was surprised to see Terry standing there calmly. He however didn’t look surprised to see her.
“Terry,” she called and he smiled at her.
“I doubt she would open the door for you,” he stated. He was leaning against the wall with his hands in his pocket.
“You don’t look surprised to see me here,” Olive replied.
“Wayne told me,” he said and Olive looked shocked.
“How did he-does he have surveillance cameras around here?” she asked and began to look at the ceiling and corners of the wall. Terry laughed.
“The guards were watching and they reported to him as you took the turn here. He told me immediately,” Terry answered.
“That man,” she muttered under her breath.
“Well, can I see Dolly?” she asked aloud and he stood straight. He looked tired… or was that worry?
“Like I said, I doubt she would open the door for you. She’s totally ignored me and I’m worried if she’s okay in there. However, you can try your luck,” he stated and shrugged. Olive gulped and walked to the very front of the door. She secured both the plastic bags in one of her hands firmly and exhaled deeply before knocking on the door with her free hand.
“Dolly! It’s me, Olive,” she said in a loud voice. She knew Dolly already was aware about her standing by the door. She must have heard her conversation with Terry.
Olive knocked loudly on the door again.
“Please open the door for me. Let’s talk about this,” she pleaded again after a few seconds but was met by another dead silence from the other side of the door.
“Are you sure she’s in there?” she turned to Terry and asked. Worry was etched all over her face and Terry’s look matched hers.
“She has been crying in there ever since she left the dungeon. She only stopped moving few minutes ago,” Terry answered.
“What if she has fallen asleep? Then we would be disturbing her rest,” Olive stated and Terry scratched the back of his head.
“I doubt. She’s just… she’s just ignoring. Call on her again. Say something,” he pursed his lips and stared into Olive’s eyes. He drew nearer until their faces were just inches part. Then he brought his mouth to her ear.
“Say something about him. Ask her. I would have done that but it would be very inappropriate of me,” he whispered very lowly into her ear. Olive looked at him questioningly and he nodded at her to do it.
“Alpha just called for me in Mufasa’s dungeon. He said you should have dinner alone and not wait up for him. So you might be alone for the rest of the night,” Terry spoke out loudly and Olive blinked her eyes.
“What? Is there something wrong?” she asked with a sincere heart, not realizing that Terry was purposely saying that loudly to coax Dolly to open the door for her.
“I don’t know. Until I reach there first. Take care, Olive,” he said and walked away. But as he took about six steps away, he turned to look at Olive then winked at her. She was taken aback by that for half a second but she understood instantly. She nodded and faced the door.
“Dolly, don’t do this to me. I’m dying of worry here,” she stated and knocked on the door.
“Wayne won’t be joining me for dinner anymore. I’ll have to eat alone if you don’t open the door. Or do you prefer I sit down outside your door here and eat two cups of ramen by myself?”
Again, she was met by silence. But after about a minute, she heard small movements inside. Olive leaned against the door and closed her eyes.
“What was his name?” she asked in a calm tone, not an agitating voice like she had been using since.
She waited patiently for Dolly to answer even though she had no hope of her answering. However, a timid, dry and weak voice answered from inside, “Jonathan.”
