Olive tiptoed and held him tight over his shoulders as she savoured the sweet flavor of their mouths entwined. They were kissing so slowly, tasting every corner of each other’s mouth. Wayne would slip his tongue in and play with hers and she would in turn moan and grab onto him even tighter.
His hands moved along her body slowly, trailing every corner and edge of her. He was so glad he confessed his true feelings for her and that she felt the same way about him. Now, he could be free to feel everything he was feeling before.
All those strange lovey actions of his that showed up because of her effect on him. The way he treated her like a princess. He was free to do that now without questioning himself about how weird it was. All because he had fallen in love with her. He loved his mate.
“Wayne,” Olive rasped as they stopped kissing to catch their breaths but didn’t move an inch away from each other. Their noses were touching and their lips rubbing slightly. They looked into each other’s eyes passionately without saying any words. The eyes spoke everything that needed to be said.
“The lovey-dovey time’s over. Now let’s get to business,” Mufasa’s voice rang loudly across the room. Olive flinched because she wasn’t expecting anyone yet but Wayne seemed to be expecting it, especially this particular person who had come to interrupt them.
“Knight, bring your woman over here,” he instructed and she could hear slight chuckles from Dolly. She looked at all of them staring at them and she blushed. Gosh, how much of their little lovey-dovey did they see?
“Don’t worry, they only just got in,” Wayne whispered into her ear. He was still holding her in that position. Obviously, he didn’t want to let her go. But, Mufasa was right. They had to get to business.
“You promised you would explain everything, right Wayne?”
He nodded and made her hug him, placing her face in his chest. She could hear his heartbeat beating steadily.
“I would,” he said and the sound vibrated through her body since she was placed right over his heart. Wayne finally moved from her but held her hand and walked her to the largest table in the hall. It was a large round wooden table with numerous chairs surrounding it. Ami served them drinks and bowed before turning to leave.
“Stay around, we might need your help,” Mufasa told her tenderly. Olive could see the fondness in his eyes as he stared at the red haired lady.
“Yes, sir.” She smiled and walked out.
“Earlier, this girl… Ami, right?” Olive began to ask and Mufasa nodded.
“She saved me by hitting Wayne with some kind of yellow light. Very bright and thick yellow light. She said she knocked him unconscious and he would be up in no time because he was too powerful. My question is… what is she? She smells nothing like a werewolf and her… her ears are-”
“Pointed?” Mufasa asked with a chuckle.
“Yes. I saw her ears the first time Wayne and I came here. They were pointed,” Olive ascertained.
“Ami is a Fae,” it was Wayne who answered. Olive’s eyes bulged. She had suspected it because of the things they were taught at the cult, but she wondered why one would be at Balendin Pack when they were obviously not in good terms with werewolves.
“Mufasa rescued her a few years back from her own people. He loved her immediately and decided to keep her despite Wayne’s disapproval,” Dolly stated and glared dramatically at Wayne who just shrugged. He didn’t like the Faes and she was one. Though, he didn’t hate her anymore.
Olive was surprised and she turned to Mufasa.
“So she’s like your-”
“Daughter? Yes. Ami is basically my daughter,” he cut in again. The look in his eyes was so tender. As if she was his biological daughter who won valedictorian in high school.
“Now back to business… Mufasa is there anything you’ll like to say concerning what happened earlier?” Wayne asked with a dead serious face. It was obvious he was also dying of curiosity and needed a proper explanation.
“Oh, it’s just her again. I thought keeping Lord Lina in a gold prison would keep the witch in check but no. Since the connection was first created, it can’t be dissolved easily,” Mufasa explained. Olive gulped down impatiently. Who was this Lord Lina? Wasn’t Lina a ladies name? Why was ‘Lord’ attached?
She looked to Wayne for his explaination and he sighed.
“Lord Lina was an enemy of mine since childhood. They say she’s the one to give me a tough life, according to whatever prophecy they had seen or heard before my birth,” Wayne stated with an eye roll.
“Ooo-kay,” Olive drawled, waiting for more.
“And truly, I started experiencing slight changes in my attitude. She someone managed to possess me and controlled me to destroy my own things with my own powers by her sorcery. She destroyed massive property and she tagged it as ‘fun’. So I hunted her down and imprisoned her in my Alpha Cell. The bitch escaped and that was the mission I went on for a week. I got her back.”
“Apparently, Lord Lina hates his mate and is after you. She mentioned something like that after we recaptured her,” Jake stated.
“Was she responsible for the choking when I first came?” Olive asked Wayne.
“The choking, and every other thing I’ve done foolishly. Yes.”
Olive sighed.
“And the accident?”
“We don’t know about that one yet. We’re not sure as the power used was not witchcraft.”
“But then, what actually happened to Wayne today was extraordinary. I highly doubt that Lord Lina would be able to control him to bring out all his darkness while she is in the gold cage,” Mufasa stated and tapped his fingers on the desk.
“Gold cage?”
“I didn’t put her in my Alpha Cell this time. The place she had escaped to was easily defeated and I tortured the shaman to tell me her weakness. It’s gold. So Lord Lina being in a gold cage would weaken her to the core.”
“I… I doubt that this Lord Lina is responsible. Is she the Green Witch?”
Wayne, Jake and Mufasa’s brows furrowed. How did she know that name?
“The person spoke through you. Said it was going to kill me right then and make things easier. Because it couldn’t see Wayne go up to that position. It called itself the Green Witch,” Olive revealed and everyone looked aghast.
“The… the Green Witch?” Shem stammered.
“Yes. Whatever it is wants me dead because it seems I’m supposed to take Wayne higher to some position. And they’re more people in alliance with this plan.”
Wayne raked his hands through his hair and got on his feet. He was confused as hell.
“Now, let’s say something very important,” Mufasa stated. Olive looked at him.
“It’s about who you really are to Knight and why it seems you’re in danger because of him.”
Olive’s heart began to thud loudly. She looked at Wayne and he sighed and sat down again, holding her hand and squeezing it.
“This is the prophecy about the fated mate of The Big Bad Alpha…”
