Chapter 251: He Is Rupert’s Nephew

Stacey’s mind went blank from the shock.
In the moonlight, Dave looked like he was wearing silver armor as he carried Bianca away. Frustrated, Stacey yelled after him, “Who are you? Who the heck are you?”
Stacey got no reply from the man, who acted as if she didn’t exist like he was above everyone else.
This made Stacey think he must be linked to the powerful Evans family.
Feeling hopeful, she shouted, “You know Rupert, right? You must be part of the Evans family!”
Dave finally stopped and looked at her.
“I’m with Rupert. We have a child together. You wouldn’t want to anger Rupert, would you? We’re both Evans family. Please, let me go. I promise I won’t bother Bianca again,” Stacey begged desperately.
Dave looked at her coldly and said, “Uncle Rupert really has poor taste in people like you.”
Stacey’s eyes widened.
‘So, he was Rupert’s nephew.’
She knew about the secret rivalry between Rupert and his nephew in the Evans family.
Desperate, Stacey quickly said, “I have dirt on Rupert. Let me go, and I can help you take him down.”
Stacey’s quick thinking caught Dave’s attention, and he raised an eyebrow in acknowledgment.
Seeing this, Stacey’s face brightened with hope.
But Dave remained cold and unyielding. “Someone like you has no right to make deals with me. If it weren’t for Bianca, I’d have killed you.”
He looked down on her as if she were insignificant, and Stacey felt a sharp sting.
She had always dreamed of mingling with powerful people and earning their respect, but she was still just a nobody to them.
Rupert could abandon her whenever he wanted, and this man could mock her without a second thought.
Even Petter treated her like a personal maid.
Feeling overwhelmed, Stacey collapsed and laughed bitterly at the irony of her life.
Some people are born with everything, while she, coming from a simple background, struggled to be on their level and found it almost impossible…
Her eyes fell onto Bianca, safe in Dave’s arms, and Stacey’s heart filled with envy and anger.
So, Bianca’s boyfriend was from the powerful Evans family. That explained her arrogance. Stacey knew she could never bring Bianca down with such a powerful person supporting her.
From the moment Stacey planned for Bianca to lose her virginity, she had already lost.
But why did everything come so easily to Bianca? Stacey couldn’t accept it, not even when facing death.
She cursed, “You’ll pay for what you’ve done!”
Annoyed by her shouting, the man holding Stacey knocked her out.
Dave ignored Stacey and missed her final words.
He carefully placed Bianca in the car, rolled down the window, and told the leader of the men in black, “Take the evidence and Stacey to the police, and make sure they don’t link this to me. Also, ensure Stacey’s baby is born in prison.”
“Understood,” the leader said with a nod.
Dave rolled up the window and looked at Bianca’s pale face, feeling sympathy. He urgently instructed Zane, “Get to the hospital quickly.”
“How is she, Dr. Davis?”
In the hospital room, Dave stood next to the hospital director, nervously watching Bianca as she rested in bed with a breathing mask on her face.
Dr. Hector Davis said, “After the oxygen treatment, Miss Scott’s condition has stabilized. Her illness is mostly psychological. With the right treatment, she should recover. But if treatment is delayed, she might get stuck in a stress cycle, which could be fatal due to breathing problems and might lead to death.”
Dave’s face grew serious, and a heavy feeling settled in his chest.
“Is there a cure?” Dave asked urgently.
Hector sighed and said, “Mental illnesses need mental solutions. This kind of problem usually comes from past trauma. When she’s in similar situations, she might have flashbacks and get stuck in those memories. Unless…”
“Unless what?” Dave asked, his eyes showing a glimmer of hope.
“Unless we replace her bad memories with good ones, but that method is mostly theoretical. There haven’t been many successful cases using this approach. Those painful memories are deeply set and hard to erase or replace.”
Dave fell silent, deep in thought.
Meanwhile, Bianca dreamt of an endless darkness that seemed to swallow everything. No matter how hard she tried to escape, the darkness just kept coming.
In her despair, a faint light appeared, pushing back the darkness. Despite everything, she moved towards it.
As Bianca followed the light, she suddenly opened her eyes.
She looked up to see the familiar ceiling above her.
Turning slightly, she noticed a comforting yellow lamp by her bed. The light from her dream seemed to come from it. She found the warm, soothing glow comforting.
Every night before bed, she would turn on a similar light by her bed to chase away her fears.
But Bianca wondered why she had come back.
She was in the bedroom of the apartment she shared with Dave. The familiar smell and furnishings gave her a sense of comfort.
She remembered seeing Dave just before she lost consciousness.
At that moment, the door opened, and Dave’s tall figure appeared.
Seeing Bianca awake, Dave rushed to her side, knelt down, and gently took her hand. “Bianc, are you feeling better?”
Bianca gave a weak nod as she looked at Dave’s strikingly handsome face, a sight she had thought she might never see again.
Feeling overwhelmed, she threw herself into his arms and clung to his neck.
Dave embraced her tightly, holding her as if afraid she might disappear if he let go.
“You’re safe now,” Dave whispered, gently stroking her back.
Bianca, overcome with emotion, buried her head in his arms, finding comfort in his warmth and the steady beat of his heart. The closeness made her feel real and secure.
“Why didn’t you talk to me about this important decision?” Dave asked, his voice gentle but with a scolding tone.
He let go and looked at her with a serious expression. Bianca, eyes filled with tears, looked like a child being scolded.
Dave held her shoulders firmly and said, “Do you realize how dangerous tonight was? If I had arrived even a second later, something terrible could have happened. It was as risky as during the fire. Why do you keep acting alone and putting yourself in danger? Have you considered your safety, and how do I feel about all this?”
