She couldn’t understand why she felt so restless lately. Her lack of sleep had left her feeling agitated.
For the first time, Stacey wished more than ever for Petter to come back soon. She even felt a bit scared about going to bed alone.
She muttered curses about Bianca under her breath, thinking that everything that happened was Bianca’s fault.
Stacey blamed everything on Bianca, believing that Bianca had put her in a bad mood. With Bianca not coming home tonight, Stacey hoped for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Summoning her courage, Stacey got up and freshened up.
After a hot shower and applying her skincare products, she prepared for bed. She lay down and closed her eyes.
Though she tossed and turned for a while, not hearing any unusual sounds, she began to drift off to sleep.
Just as she was about to fall asleep, a ghostly voice echoed in her ears once again.
The familiar sound of footsteps, the same ones that had kept her awake, echoed again.
Along with the footsteps, Stacey heard a soft cry from a woman.
Exhausted and on the brink of a breakdown, Stacey threw off the covers and sat up in bed.
Frustrated, she got out of bed, opened the door, and stepped into the corridor. She shouted, “I don’t care if you’re a ghost or a person. If you have the courage, show yourself. I’m not afraid of the living, and I’m certainly not afraid of the dead.”
The corridor was silent, with no response.
With red-tinted eyes, Stacey searched every corner of the house. She rushed to Bianca’s room, kicked the door open, and looked around but found no one.
She continued her search through the other rooms but still found nothing.
In the kitchen, she grabbed a knife and then went to the living room, where she tried to turn on the light.
When the lights didn’t come on despite her repeated attempts, she realized the power was out.
Laughing crazily, Stacey said, “Marisa, you’re dead. Stop trying to scare me. You think you can frighten me with this? I’m not afraid. If you can, come out and finish it.”
“Stacey…”
A hauntingly sad voice echoed from the dark living room. “Where is my child? Where have you taken him?”
Gripping the knife tightly, Stacey scanned the dark room but saw no one.
“There’s no way to save your child. This was all meant to help you,” Stacey shouted into the empty space.
“You didn’t just cause my death; you also killed my child, didn’t you?” The high-pitched female voice in the empty living room was filled with terror and anger.
Stacey laughed and replied, “Are you serious? I had set aside enough money for you to leave Edenfield. You chose to die on your own. What have I done? I haven’t done anything wrong.”
“You convinced me to set fire to Madison’s apartment, promising to help save my child. How could you betray me like this? How could you be so heartless? Now, everyone thinks I’m the one behind the arson. I took the fall for you, and my child is still gone. Stacey, I want to drag you down to hell with me.”
The woman’s voice was chilling and desperate.
Stacey’s hand, gripping the knife, shook uncontrollably. “Fine, if you have the power, come out. Even if I told you to start the fire, so what? You’re dead now, and the dead should keep secrets. It’s all your fault. You sacrificed yourself and took the blame for me. I didn’t cause your death. It was your own poor judgment.”
As Stacey finished speaking, the woman’s voice fell silent.
Stacey felt a sudden chill and quickly looked around the living room. She was startled to see a figure hiding behind the curtain.
Relieved to have finally found the culprit, she gripped the knife tightly, ready to face her. But when she tried to strike, she missed.
Pulling back the curtain, Stacey saw only a white dress hanging there.
A metallic clanging sound caught her attention, and she turned to see a figure slowly crawling toward the door.
Regaining her composure, Stacey approached the figure, still holding the knife.
As she got closer, her eyes adjusted to the darkness, and the faint moonlight revealed that the person on the floor was Bianca.
Stacey reached out, grabbed Bianca’s wrist, and flipped her over.
“So it’s you,” Stacey yelled sharply.
Struggling to sit up, Bianca leaned against the shoe cabinet by the door. Sweat dripped from her forehead, and she breathed heavily, clearly struggling.
Bianca, who was terrified of the dark, tried to gather her strength to get Stacey’s confession. She felt overwhelmed by a hallucination of huge hands gripping her limbs, making her feel trapped.
In her mind, Stacey transformed into a terrifying beast with sharp claws, ready to attack.
“I get it now,” Stacey said with a malicious smile as she moved closer to Bianca. “You set this whole thing up, didn’t you? I never imagined you’d try to trick me like this.”
Stacey crouched down and began searching for Bianca. “Tell me, do you have a recording? Where’s the device? Hand it over, or I’ll kill you right now.”
Leaning against the cabinet, Bianca closed her eyes and smiled with relief. “I can’t escape anyway. I told you. I’ll take you down with me.”
Stacey, sensing something was off with Bianca, felt her mind spinning with confusion. She kept a firm grip on the knife, wanting to pursue her plan.
Focused on her goal, Stacey decided to take the most extreme measure.
With a fierce look in her eyes, she raised the knife towards Bianca, pushed by the thought that she needed to end Bianca’s life. If she could kill Bianca and hide the body, no one would ever know what happened tonight.
It would remain her secret forever.
Stacey took a deep breath, feeling calm again. She looked at Bianca with a sneer and said, “Bianca, you’ve left me no choice. If you’re going to make things difficult, just go to hell.”
Stacey quickly raised the knife and aimed it at Bianca.
“Boom!” Suddenly, the door burst open, and Stacey was knocked to the ground. The knife flew from her hand and landed far away.
Bianca, barely able to see, was surprised to see Dave’s face coming closer. Even though she was weak, her eyes widened in amazement.
Bianca couldn’t understand why Dave was there.
“Dave…” she whispered before passing out in his arms.
“Bianc!” Dave quickly picked her up and rushed out. At the same time, a group of men in black came from the other direction and restrained Stacey.
