Simon POV.
“Simon, thank you again, I’ll be leaving now,” Elijah says, good thing he’s leaving on his own before I kicked him out of my house.
“You’re welcome, goodbye, have a nice day,” I say waiting for him to leave so I can run in and check on Sophia.
“I’ll show you the way Lord,” Lucas decides to say, following the Lord out of my house, making sure he left as well.
“Sophia, sweetie, are you okay?” I ask her barging into my office, I didn’t care who could hear me or what they could hear, I need to make sure she was okay.
“I’m fine,” she answers me, holding AJ, I couldn’t take the fact that my wife is holding anyone but me, I pushed him off her, throwing him on the ground, holding her.
“Sweetie, what happened,” I repeat holding her tight in my arms, as AJ stood up and looked at me with hurtful eyes, he shouldn’t be holding her, she’s my wife.
“What was that for?” he asks.
“She’s mine, go hold someone else,” I say with a growl.
“Fine, I’ll get Lucas to hold me, I was threatened in here too you know,” AJ groans leaving the room, I lifted her head up, seeing her neck, there was a hand mark on there, his hand mark.
“Is that how he treated you?” I ask her, and tears start to fill her eyes.
“It’s why I ran away, to begin with, I knew he would take advantage of me, he was one of the worse ones out there, he’s even worse than the one who tortured me in the coven house,” she says with a sigh, I hugged her closer.
“There are real monsters out there,” I say agreeing with her, there are a lot of monsters out there, and she was so unfortunate to meet one in that way.
“He wants me to sleep with you, I didn’t tell him we are married, I told him years ago that I won’t do that before marriage, he couldn’t take advantage of me, so I ran away before he could hurt me, but now he’s back. When I close my eyes, I could see him, I could hear him, and I’m scared, Simon what if he gets me back,” she says, she never tells me anything about her past, about how she became her until now, she’s hardly opening up still.
“You’re safe now, you got me, I’ll never allow him to get near you again,” I promise her and I plan on keeping up my promise, I’ll never let her go, not ever again.
“But what should I do now?” she asks me confused and scared.
“Why does he want you to be in the same room as me?” I ask her, I knew, but I wanted to check with her.
“He wants me to keep an eye and ear with you, I’m supposed to wait for his order,” she says trembling like a little flower, although I’d like to treat her like a small delicate flower, she’s not one, and she needs to be strong and in charge, delicate people don’t belong with me.
“Do as he says, say you agree, and tell him you’ll do it,” I say, she’ll only give him the illusion that she’s following his order, she’s already in my room and she can tell him she managed to do so, obeying his order.
“But what would happen next? What if his order is to kill you, or something bad, what if I don’t want to obey his rules anymore?” Sophia asks she’s scared, but I had to be strong for the both of us.
“Sophia, snap out of it,” I say in a firm voice, it’s tough love, it’s what she needs right now, she needs to wake up and stop acting like this, we’re both mafia bosses, she’s a vampire and not someone who should be taken for granted.
“Then what should I do?” she asks me still trembling.
“Start acting like the strong girl I know you to be, we’ll get you the gun you asked for, and when he orders you to do something, just tell me we’ll figure it out,” I say, we’ll find a way out of this and a way out of Elijah’s deal.
“Why are you doing business with him?” she asks me next.
“I had to do a deal with the devil, but it was totally worth it,” I answer her, kissing the top of her head, she didn’t need to know she was the price, but I was happy to have her.
“What about now?” she asks me.
“Now, let’s get back to our coffee,” I say, holding her hand and going back to the kitchen, getting us some new coffee.
“AJ, you are either with us or you’re dead,” I say in a cold voice, he can’t keep having his way back to our lives and betraying us, one time a cheater, always a cheater.
“With you, I’ll give my life for Sophia,” AJ agrees with us.
“If I even have the smallest doubt about your loyalties you are dead,” I threaten him.
“What’s the plan boss?” Lucas asks me now.
“We’re gonna play nice, do what Elijah wants us to do, and when the time is right we’re going to take him down,” I say with an evil smile.
“That’s suicidal, you can’t kill an elder like Elijah, he’s too old, and you’ll get in trouble!” AJ was quick to stand up defending his master.
“Hey, I’m trying to save your ass!” AJ yells, both hands up when I glared at him.
“Fine, we won’t kill him, we’ll just get out of his way, for now, we obey him,” I say until I can come up with a better plan.
“We can do that,” Lucas agrees with me.
“Lucas, get Sophia a gun,” I say making his smile get wider.
“Pink gun?” he asks me.
“As long as it shoots, I don’t care if it got glitter,” I answer my friend.
